San Rock did a really good, quick and efficient job plastering, tiling, adding a new heater and skimmer to our vintage pool. But a few years later a leak developed. I called a technician to diagnose and he said it was in the skimmer box. I called San Rock. The next day the owner appeared. He spent three hours removing old concrete and reseating and resealing our skimmer box. A day later I refilled the pool and like magic it is fine once again. From a neighbor's prospective they were very unprofessional and we would never hire them. We live on a nice sized cul-de-sac and the parked their large truck in the middle of the street blocking driveways all day. Upon noticing they were blocking cars, they did nothing to remedy the situation. One car backed into the large truck which arrived prior to sunrise and they filed an insurance claim against the individual and remained parked in the same place all day. I used three of the people he recommends and I am EXTREMELY happy with what each of them did. Carlos Tafolla, the electrician, was awesome, and in addition to replacing the pool light, he replaced the aging electrical panel to the pool equipment (and some outlets in the house). Carlos Mendez, the plumber, did a wonderful job of removing and replacing the old skimmer box & basket that had cracked, and finally, Esteban Miranda, the concrete mason, worked his magic on my patio drains, which had been completely clogged because of a previously undetected leak in the irrigation pipes! He did a beautiful job of cutting the cement, replacing the old drain pipes with 4" pipes, and the finished product was perfect! His work was immaculate! My pool is filled and I couldn't be happier!! We just had our pool retiled and plastered by San-Rock. They did a fantastic job! Although we had to wait 2 months for our turn, we are very pleased with the results. This allowed us time to make the difficult decision on choosing tile. Also, knowing they were very busy lead us to believe they have a great reputation. We had many referrals from pool stores and pool cleaning service people. After many estimates, San-Rock was not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. Shellia at the office was great and answered many of our initial questions. Our project began on a Monday, with Ed the owner coming out to drain the water and answer any questions. He also gave some great suggestions/input on timelines. Tuesday the demolition crew made quick work of the old plaster and tile. They did not leave a mess and was very detailed on clean up. Wednesday, Omar and crew delivered an amazing waterline and step line tile. These guys kept a perfect line throughout. Friday, Paul and crew came through and applied the plaster. Another amazing job that completed the project. They set up the hoses to fill the water. Ed had mentioned his company is one big family. Omar and Paul are actually brothers that have nice talent. It wasn't the lowest, but we felt good about what they were telling us they would do for the price. We had 5-6 quotes! I called this company for replastering/resurfacing our pool. Spoke to Angie ( the owners wife) regarding an estimate. First off, during my call she stated they won't be able to start the job until March of 2021 because they are just too swamped with business. She then stated, if I'm not ok with that then I should call another company. I also asked her about replacing a pre- fab jacuzzi and she referred us to a contractor in Westlake Village. She stated to contact them and perhaps just use them for the replastering as well. I was so taken back because I didn't understand why you'd steer potential customers to other competitors especially if they didn't even see the pool. I was kind of weirded but I figured it's COVID and they lack man power to take on these types of projects. I didn't mind waiting so I continued booking an appointment for an estimate. Angie, booked me an appointment with Mario about a week later. Mario is the nicest most sweetest man and explained everything very throughly. We decided to go with pebble-tek and they quoted us an estimate. We agreed with the quote and I contacted them regarding some questions and concerns since we'd never done this before. Apparently, they don't do a start up service, which means that you have to hire someone else to care for pool about two weeks after the installation until the pebble is fully cured. This is critical in the outcome of the product because if the chemistry of the pool is off then that could result in a defective outcome. Spoke to my pool man and he says he doesn't take on that responsibility because if it's not installed properly or it's defective then the company will blame the pool man for not caring for it properly. When contacted SanRock, Angie stated that if I have concerns of something going wrong, then I should find another company to contract with. I asked her why she doesn't want my business because she initially referred me to a different contractor and now she steering me to someone else because I asked her why they don't do the startup service. I'm surprised that during a pandemic where people are trying to work harder than ever to earn people's business, Angie is steering away customers. Lol! Really? Why would Angie be so upset that a customer is concerned about the work they do. She stated they have been in business for 65 years and their name changed but they are still very reputable. Please Angie, don't be so confident and try to remain humble. If you are as reputable as you say, you wouldn't take absolute pride In the work you provide and not steer customers to your competitors. It seems like the only customers your interested in are the ones who are duped into the contract. I don't recommend SanRock to anyone because clearly they have too much business! I was very excited seeing these reviews and giving San-Rock a call to re-do my back yard, unfortunately it did not go as planned. I left 2 messages, finally someone called me back, wanted to come out the next morning at 9:00am, I let him know I had an appt. maybe we can do 10:30am, he said "well I guess we will have to do it another time" he, then said he would call me Wednesday for Friday appt, I never heard from him or them. I called back to be put on hold, then when she got on she told me they had a large project and they were really busy, but she would put my name in for next week, I explained to her about her estimator calling me and I reminded her he was suppose to come on Friday, she again stated they are busy. Do not use San Rock Pool plastering , I dont understand how they got almost 5 stars , I am sure some of them are fake I got my pool replastered ( pebbles ) 4 years and 2 months ago , cost me almost 12000$ After they were done i noticed a lot of joints at the tiles were missing , I called them , they told me to lower the water about a foot for them to fixe it , , they would not compensated for the cost of the brand new water i had to waste because they did a lousy job , then i noticed a bit later foot print in the deep end of the pool , called again , they told me i would have to empty the pool completely for them to fixe it , i asked again if they would cover the cost of refiling the pool , trey said no , my pool is 40 by 20 and 10 foot deep , lots of water, since the pebbles is warranty 20 years i will wait until i have to change the water for them to fixe the foot print Last but not least , about a month ago tiles start falling of the wall ,i called again , they told me that the pool was resurfaced 4 years and 2 MONTHS ago , the pebbles is under warranty for 20 years but not the tiles , only for 4 years , their answer was , you are out of warranty 2 months we won 't fix it , Talking about customers service , i own my own business , this is not a way to treat customers I would show the pool to anyone that wants to see it , to prove my point , i am even gonna give you my number , 818-304-6844, I am that mad Read other negative reviews about the tiles read more

We used San-Rock 5 years ago to replaster, retile, and recope our pool. A couple of years ago we started noticing some cracking between a few tiles but didn't think much of it. We recommended them to our next door neighbors who used them a couple of year ago, as well. At that time, my husband asked one of the men working if they could come and take a look at the cracking when they had a chance. They never got back to us. Some time after that, my husband called and left a message with the company and they never returned his call. Now, the cracking is significant and many of the tiles are completely falling off. I called them 3 days ago and I have not received a return phone call. We are extremely disappointed and will never recommend this business to anyone again. The gentleman that has cleaned our pool for the past 8 years and who has had a very reputable business for over 20-30 years, had someone come out and look at the damage and has quoted us $3700 to fix the damage. Our pool was just completely redone by San-Rock only 5 years ago. How can this be? Our pool guy said that the damage could be due to whoever installed the coping not making sure that the deck concrete down low wasn't touching the bond beam. Well, San-Rock has not even given us the courteous of a return phone call. We have reached out to them on 3 separate occasions and nothing. I don't call that good business!!! Extremely disappointed!!! Update - 7/2/2019 San-Rock came out this past fall and repaired the tiles free of charge. So far, they are holding up. I am so happy with the way my pool turned out. I first contacted San- Rock and had the pleasure of meeting Ange, she was so very nice and very professional, she made an appointment for the same day for me to get an estimate, then I had the pleasure of meeting Mario, he also was very professional and nice, answered all my questions about replastering our pool and the questions I had about doing mini pebbles instead. The next day I received an email with both prices and compared them to the other 2 companies I had gotten estimates from and San-Rock was priced the best. We decided to go with the mini pebble and I am so happy we did.
