This course is by far the worst condition course in the area. From T to green the course appears as thought it has not been cared for in years. The sand traps are unplayable, if your in there you will most likely not even find your ball due to half the sand washed away leaving large fissures, never mind the traps have not seen a rake or care in years. The fairways are baron, never mind the large patches of weeds throughout especially as you get closer to the greens. The pace was play was horrendous, had a 9:00 T-Time, didn't end up getting on the T until about 10am, due to the starter (which will be discussed in a minutes) placing a group of 12 on the T at once. So with a 9:00 T time, we finished just past 3pm. Heck the beer cart even broke down and they left it on the fridge of the green all day. The only really draw to this a course is the elevation changes. Let's talk about the starter. This was actually the second time we played this course, both times the starters attitudes is very demeaning, both times we felt very put off by the older gentleman. He's acts more like a course bulldog than the welcoming figure he should be. Neither time were we greeted with a hello, and the last time we were greeted with a "Can I help you" in a tone like "Why are you bothering me" I even got a "Hey you" x3 at one point from him while I was hanging out on the putting green waiting the hour our T off was behind. He wanders around the starters area like a pit-bull awaiting an intruder. His whole attitude is not meant for customer service, maybe more of a back of the house type position. I personally will not go back just based on the attitude of the starter. It's too bad this could be an awesome course due to its elevation, just appears they won't spend any money on this hidden gem, or maybe they don't get the revenue to send cause the starter scares everyone off. read more

One word to describe this course, elevation. It reminds me a lot of Black Bear Country Club in Eustis for those that play around Central FL. The course is tight and challenging in spots but it is overall a good course in pretty good condition. Another great spot for the money. The number two par 3 is prob my favorite hole. Shooting from a high elevation down onto the green. Always available on golf now. read more

This location would be excellent for a golf course. There is no grass on the fairways, unkempt course to say the least. My friend and I play golf every week, since he drives from Lakeland and I drive from Apopka we try many different courses throughout the year. Please don't waste your money! read more

So I played this course a few years back and the fairway was starting to look rough. I went today and it's apparent the did nothing to make this course more desirable. I paid about $ 30 and I overpayed by about $20. I will relay the course condition to all my golf buddies, as it's not worth the money. Clerbrook is in far better condition and much cheaper. The restaurant here is AMAZING! Staff is on point and so are the lunch and dinner specials! You can't beat the prices at the bar either! Very personable and outstanding service. Kudos to the chef on the chocolate cherry cheesecake last night! We have been eating there once to twice a week. The tables outside on the "patio" have an excellent view. But get there early, they tend to go fast! We will continue going and enjoying the view, the staff and the food! read more

So far I agree, this is Florida's hilliest course. The course has many elevated tees, and greens. It's a course you should play more the once. The traps remind me more like waste areas. There are some rakes at some of the traps but no one seemed to use them. The course over all was in very good condition. The views are fantastic, on the course and from the restaurant. Hadn't been here in 10 years-the course has gotten better. If you are within an hours drive and looking for something different and challenging-come play the hills here!! LOVE, LOVE LOVE this course!! this is my favorite in Central Florida. There are some that may be better maintained, have a better clubhouse or offer more amenities but none is as fun to play. The elevation changes make it pretty unique for this area but it's not the only hilly course. It's the layout of the holes and the way they challenge you that makes this a favorite to go back to again and again. I'll be out there next weekend and I'm already looking forward to it. read more

What has happened to this course!!! You need a Jeep to drive the fairways it's so rough. The bunkers are full of weeds. The only good item was the cart/starter who got us out early. Started to use the port a potty on back nine and it was so bad could not go inside. This course needs a lot of TLC. read more

Pretty fun course in the middle of Florida. Lots of rolling hills and a good mix of long and short holes. A few too many blind shots but overall a great place to play for the value. read more

The other ratings on this course are very accurate but sadly the maintenance of the course in general has suffered lately. Somehow my daughter convinced me to walk the course with her...uh, huh. Excellent.found this course on the web because it was btw st.cloud and leesburgh and it seemed like a central meeting place for three friends.well,we were not disappointed.this course is very interesting .there is only one straight hole.every hole on the course,everything else is either a dogleg or some elevation change.the greens are either protected by large deep bunkers or large tracts of waste areas.other hazards include dense vegetation and some water and some large drop offs.the carts are equipped with course instructions and if you are a first timer ,read it.wind comes into play because the course is high.the greens are very large and pretty well maintained.it is playable and fair,but you have to play golf.you just can't grip and rip.i really enjoyed the course.the staff was friendly and helpful.the cart girl made sure we were hydrated.it was a fun day .my next trip to Florida will include a trip to sanctuary ridge. read more
