Yelp Review I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share this experience because I don't want another guest, especially another woman of color, to leave feeling the way I did. I originally booked this appointment after attending Bella Collina's Girls' Night Out event. The event itself was wonderful, and the spa offered special pricing if services were booked that evening. My mom and I both booked treatments, so I was genuinely looking forward to this visit. Instead, I experienced one disappointment after another. From the moment I called for directions after my GPS brought me through the wrong entrance, the tone of the interaction felt cold and unwelcoming. When I arrived, I immediately noticed the difference between Bella Collina and other luxury spas I have visited. There was no warm greeting, no orientation to the facilities, and no one escorting guests from place to place. I was simply pointed toward the locker room and later told where to go for my treatment. Those details may seem small, but they are exactly what separates true luxury hospitality from an average spa. The interaction with my massage therapist made me especially uncomfortable. She asked whether I wanted the complimentary scalp massage. I explained that I was wearing a wig and would prefer not to have it. Instead of accepting my answer, she continued asking me the same question multiple times. As a Black woman, that exchange felt deeply uncomfortable. Black women wear wigs and other protective styles for many reasons, and I have never before had someone fixate on my hairstyle during a spa treatment. Whether intentional or not, the repeated questioning demonstrated a lack of cultural competence and left me feeling othered rather than cared for. The massage itself was unfortunately the worst I have ever had. Instead of relaxing, I became increasingly tense. I found myself asking to stretch throughout the session because my muscles actually felt tighter as the massage continued. That has never happened to me before. The facial was excellent, and I want to acknowledge that. My esthetician was knowledgeable, professional, and gave me thoughtful advice about my skincare goals. She was the highlight of my visit. Unfortunately, the problems continued afterward. I asked if I could pay before changing into my swimsuit so I could enjoy the spa pool, but I was told no because someone would have to walk me outside. After changing, I returned wearing my swimsuit underneath the spa robe and was immediately told I could not wear the robe outside. At that point, it felt like every interaction centered around another rule or another correction. Instead of feeling welcomed or accommodated, I felt policed. Hospitality should make guests feel comfortable, not constantly worried that they are doing something wrong. Eventually, I decided to leave instead of using the pool because I simply did not feel welcome anymore. The most disappointing part of this experience was not just the poor massage or the lack of luxury service. It was leaving feeling that the staff lacked the cultural awareness necessary to make every guest feel respected and included. That feeling stayed with me long after I left. Bella Collina markets itself as a luxury destination. Luxury is not just beautiful buildings or expensive treatments. Luxury is exceptional hospitality, thoughtful service, and making every guest feel comfortable and valued. Sadly, that was not my experience. read more

This has to be the nicest venue for a wedding in the entire country. I was recently here and the wedding was absolutely spectacular. Bella Collina is located in Orlando. It's a gated community with luxury homes built on a lake. There's a championship golf course designed by Nick Faldo, a spa, a gym and of course, a club. The architecture and scenery are breathtaking. When you arrive at the club, nothing here screams Orlando or tourist. Infact, it doesn't seem as if you're in Florida at all. The Rolling hills, and magnificent architecture make you feel as if you stepped into a villa in Tuscany. 5 star service all around. The food was over the top delicious. This is a spectacular venue for an event, especially if you want an experience that will never be forgotten. read more

This place is STUNNING!!! The ambiance is incredible and the view is spectacular. The food was some of the best food I have ever had. I was even blown away with just the salad. All the service was excellent and the staff were nice and accommodating and the bar tender was awesome and made the perfect drinks! They offered cappuccinos and had rock candy stirrers, sugar cubes, white and milk chocolate shavings and orange zest. Extremely fancy! I would recommend this place to anyone who is having an event since I think access to this place is for the local community only. If I am ever back in Orlando area, I will try and get a reservation here. This is also a great place for pictures! Beautiful club and golf course. Located in central Florida near Claremont, this golf course community looks like something from another country. The Tuscan style club house is beautiful, very well maintained abc the perfect location for a wedding overlooking a large lake. The rolling hills provide a naturally beautiful backdrop for the homes overlooking the golf course. Quiet community in the country yet the highway is not too far so it's very accessible. What a fantastic experience to play this golf course. I was a guest to play with the Arnold Palmer Invitational volunteer appreciation tournament and this place was magnificent. From the moment of driving onto the property at the security station, all the staff were so welcoming and pleasant. The tournament was as organized as I have ever seen - and for 100 golfers, that is solid management and teamwork. The course is so picturesque with rolling hills - in FLORIDA - crazy! It was in great shape and the layout of a lot of the holes was just breathtaking. If you ever have a glimmer of an opportunity to play here, you have to do it. The last time I experienced blind tee shots because of elevations was in North Carolina. So glad I made the trek from Jacksonville and coordinated all the logistics to play here. A beautiful venue for a wedding. Though I can't say much about the golf course (looked spacious and well maintained) I was recently in town for a wedding here. Driving in you feel like you've left Florida and entered Italy. It was a sort of winery villa feel. The main room where the wedding was held was surrounded by windows overlooking the lake and hills, so it was nice and bright. It also connected to a large balcony outside which was a beautiful backdrop for pictures and looked surreal. Unfortunately it rained the morning of the wedding so the outdoor ceremonies were moved inside. Though we were quite small for an Indian wedding (about 200 guests) we did overwhelm the hallways and smaller rooms leading up to the main room. The reception was grand and it finally stopped raining so we could enjoy the outdoor Mediterranean vibe! Honestly the only down side was mosquitos- but that's Florida for ya. Also, guests of the wedding were placed at a hotel about 25 minutes away from the venue, so I wonder if there just aren't many places for a large crowd to stay around bella collina. Overall a wonderful place to hold a wedding! read more

Adding to my recent review, Bella Collina reached out to me regarding my concerns in detail and offered me what they could to make up or the shortcomings. There was a lot of miss-communication between some venders and the catering management that effected the event. However, they took all my challenges into great consideration and I believe they will implement some changes for future weddings to go as flawlessly as possible. Incredible Golf Club the club house is impressive very nice selection of golf apparel (not cheap but really nice). The adventure or I should say challenge starts on the first tee box swing away on an elevated tee it doesn't get much better than this. The elevation changes makes you feel like your anywhere but Florida this is truly a special place. I don't know how much play they get here but the course was in perfect shape and the pace was perfect we were at least two fairways away from any other group the entire day so it's worth the price actually it's a bargain. I have photographed several weddings here. The location is amazing. The views are pristine. The bride gets ready in the locker room for ladies golf and the men in the mens. While it is very spacious and beautiful, sometimes you have to work around members coming in and out. At one time I was working as the assistant to a male photographer, and they would only let him in the women's locker room for 20-30 min, which made getting all the detail and getting ready photos difficult to get. When it was time to take photos of the bride and groom, there was a golf cart and person ready to escort us. It was nice, but it was also limiting because they told us where to shoot, instead of us just being able to walk around and explore on our own. Depending on the size of your wedding, there are a few different locations for your ceremony and reception. Each are beautiful in their own ways. I always enjoy photographing weddings here, because everywhere you look there is something beautiful to see. I don't enjoy the staff very much. Make sure you ask lots of questions if you book a wedding here, make sure you know what you are paying for. read more

Spent a day here fulfilling groomsmen duties for a wedding and was highly impressed. I have no idea how much anything costs or how hard it is to reserve a place like this, but i enjoyed myself. Bella Collina is a golf club that rents their facilities for weddings and other venues. First impression up the cobblestone hill to this huge castle was pretty impressive! The bridal party each got ready in their respective locker rooms. This locker room is bigger than some houses! There's a steam room, jacuzzi, individual showers, and the toilets are behind tall dark wooden doors, lol There is also a pool table and a private bar that also includes outdoor balcony eating area. There is also a spa which we didn't take advantage of. I wish we spent the whole day here. It would've been awesome to relax and take advantage of what the facility has to offer before the big ceremony. There are so many little areas to walkthrough, this place is huge. But it's prize is the outdoor area where the wedding is held. Since it sits atop a hill it has a great view of the lake and surrounding landscape. It's been just over a year since we were married at Bella. We have nothing but great things to say about this club. It is an incredible piece of property. Lauren from sales did a great job with us. Everything that was promised was done which is the hardest part about venues. Bella went above and beyond to make our wedding incredibly special. I'll start with the drive in, our family and guests are mostly from South Florida so seeing hills in Florida was a surprise to most. The entrance to the place and drive up the hill is something to remember. Every single food item was delicious. Pro-tip: for hors d'oeuvres we did scallops and lamb chops. These were a home run. 5 Stars for a venue that left me feeling like I'd taken a trip to Italy for the evening! I had the chance to attend an event at the Ballroom and main club and was incredibly impressed in the amount of work that went into each and every facet of the construction. From purposefully uneven cobblestone floors, to multi-layer terracotta roof tiles (to mimic those in Italy that have been laid over previous roof tiles over many generations), to archways over a fountain overlooking a magnificent vista that you'd swear was a mirage because "huh? Hills in Central Florida?!" This was the perfect setting for the event and I imagine would make a stunning wedding venue as well. One thing to note is the many options of spaces. There are fabulous outdoor verandas, some grand lobbies, a few dining rooms, and then the ballroom- with floor to ceiling windows covering three sides. The staff was very courteous and accommodating and though I don't know if the food was done by the venue, it was top-notch. Overall, a venue I'd recommend to any friend looking for a scenic, WOW-worthy location for a wedding or event of any size. read more

Craziest clubhouse I've ever seen. A Tuscan masterpiece, not just a Clubhouse, or a villa, but rather the Clubhouse is a "little Tuscan village", complete with fountains, cobblestone streets, piazzas, a metal gated Roman bathhouse hot tub, stone statues and oh yes, a fun and challenging golf course. The staff could not be nicer, more friendly and helpful. Obviously someone went all out to create and realize this vision. I applaud their passion and commitment. Just played the golf course for first time. Awesome condition for this time of year. Staff treated us very well from check in to taking our bags to car after the round. Great practice facility! The greens were amazing! Very fast with challenging undulations ! Only complaint is there were no diagram of holes on scorecard or on tee box. Many blind tee shots led to missed fairways due to not knowing which way dogleg went. Also, quite puzzling, members are allowed to play a fivesome which led to excruciating slow play, especially since they were high handicap players. read more

I would love to give this venue 5 stars, but the staff makes it impossible. Everyone we encountered in the sales office and even the general manager of the property was rude. When we went for a visit to tour the property, the sales manager showing us around was clearly upset to be there. She was looking at us like we couldn't afford to have a wedding there and was stuck up. She offered no information, unless we pulled it out of her and she kept her monotone attitude the entire site visit. For someone that was speaking to guests looking to spend upwards of $40,000, I thought she would've been a little more nice and accommodating. When speaking with the sales manager (I wish I remembered her name so I could call her out) she let us know that with the wedding contract came a membership to Bella Collina for a year for 2 people. This turned out to be completely false because after the wedding was over and they had their money it changed to "you get access to the club- this isn't a membership." But half the reason we signed the contract in the first place was so my father in law could be a member there and utilize the golf course. When we called them to confront the general manager about what we were told, he insinuated we were lying. So we left it alone and didn't return to Bella Collina- our wedding was in May, 2018. The venue is great and we had a wonderful wedding, I just wish the staff there was nice and not such assholes. UPDATE: Stacy S seems to think this review is fake- it's not. My husband and I were married at Bella Collina on May 4, 2018. I am happy to provide the below pictures as my proof. Stacy can also look up my maiden name, McCandless as a reference on the contract I signed with Bella Collina. Most employees here are very disgruntled and it shows!!!! Many things were wrong at my daughters wedding a year ago. I blame it on Bella retaliating as I was FIRED 7 months before the wedding. No warning no reason either. The constant revolving sort for employees at Bella just shows the type of dysfunction that continues to go on at Bella. Most managers are rude and pompous. Top that with some of the best, nicest, most attentive waitstaff ever and you have the venue of your dreams. My only complaint was with the food options. I'm not sure how Bella Collina functions when there is an event (meaning if the venue or those renting the facility provide the menu/food and alternatives) but vegan food is not the same as vegetarian. I won't go into detail as it was really not a big problem for me, but there are many people who are truly allergic to dairy/eggs/etc, and a stronger eye for detail should be used for that. read more

The area reminds me of Tuscany, beautiful clubhouse and surrounding area. Golf course terrible, bad greens like putting on shag carpet until you get to 10 then it changes and it really is a green. Very challenging which I like but sand traps too many and filled with rocks , gravel and sand not SAND! Will not return and I live close by and can get a low rate of $65, but that is still way too expensive, there are too many other courses in the area that are better and better taken care of. read more

Bella is trying to be a private club, but can't get the membership, so it is obvious they try to get outside business to keep the place evolving - all good. I LOVE this course - it is not for the timid, but it's wide open and forgiving. Most modern courses suck, they trick you with optical illusions and hidden shots. Bella throws the course right at you - go get it! Sir Nick hit gold with this layout. I shot 82 and roasted my playing partner like a Christmas goose. We just got married here. I must say, it is the prettiest place to get married in all of Central Florida ( trust me, we saw a ton of places before booking ). But, that seems to lead to the down side of BellaCollina. I think that since they know they offer the best scenery, they feel they can treat everyone like crap. BellaCollina is probably one of the most expensive places to get married in Central Florida ( other than Disney ) ALL the staff here are over-all... NOT very helpful! Most of the girls who work in the office seem to only be there because their dads got them the job. Anytime you ask for ANYTHING the answer is always either "NO" or "We can do that for an up-charge of about 20 times what would be considered reasonable". For example, they wanted $1,200.00 to provide S'mores ( Marsh-mellow, graham cracker and chocolate ) for 85 people. Most of the time when you do call or email them, just just don't respond if it requires them having to do anything. When they showed us the dinning room, they neglect to mention that they only have around 75 "pretty" chairs. So, since we had more than 75 people coming, they wanted to charge us $500.00 to replace the nice chairs with ugly / cheap looking chairs. The food at the preview / tasting was far better prepared and better tasting than the food we ate on the day of the wedding. If you want to come see the place ( after you've paid ) ... they only let you come at unreasonable dates / times and only at their convenience... not yours. We wanted to bring in a Florist, they said "come back in 2 weeks in the middle of the day during the week". Well, like most people ... we work during those hours. If you want to make any changes to anything... the answer is almost always "NO" or like I said before... they want to up-charge you in order to prevent you from wanting the change, so there's less work for them. We wanted to do a Moscato toast rather than a Champagne toast... I think they said they wanted an additional $5.00 per glass poured !!! That's crazy when Moscato is cheaper than Champagne. I think the worst part was that most of our wedding plans included being outdoors ( which is why we paid an extra $5,000-$8,000 for a March wedding as apposed to June or July wedding ). On the day of the wedding, it was cloudy in the morning so THEY decided ( not us ) ... to change all of our wedding plans and move everything indoors... So, there goes our months of planning, all our floral arrangements, our outdoor lighting and all of our seating got screwed up too... it never rained that day, just some clouds. Their poor judgement cost us thousands of dollars and we never even got an apology. There were many times that before signing the contract, STACY lied verbally to us and then when we called them on it later on... their answer was " As per the contract ... ". They told us we could have access to a golf cart to transport the older grandparents from the parking lot to the reception area... that was a lie. They told us we'd have the whole day of the wedding to use the facilities to get ready... that was a lie. They told us we could do the rehearsal on site the evening before the wedding, that was a lie. They told us I'd get a free game of golf at their golf course... that was a lie as well. Overall, we still had a nice wedding but, I'd never give another dollar to the people at BellaCollina. read more

This is a review for the SPA at Bella Collina and my bad experience for my anniversary. AESTHETICALLY: This place has no flaws to the eye. Beautiful, relaxing scenery alone gives this place stars, the locker rooms/showers were also fantastic. I liked the robes and slippers prepared for us before the services. Other than that I did not feel like I got my dollar's worth here. CUSTOMER SERVICE: What's hospitality? I booked a couple's massage and facials for both of us months in advance. The day of, I was told our massages would be done in separate rooms & a couple was scheduled for the couples room already (excuse me?). So after the staff up at the front tentatively admitted fault, I was offered a 10% discount off a service for the next visit (gee thanks, I told them I'm just a visitor from out of state). "OK" I said, but after my services there was a 20% added charge from the ORIGINAL price of the services even though I was told the total would be $200 over the phone. Apparently $200 was a "deal" and nobody informed me that the regular price was double. Not thru email, phone, nada. When I addressed this with the women up front all I received in return were blank stares and a nonchalant arrogance, as if it were my problem that I don't have $300 to spend whenever. CATTY is the word I would use to describe the customer service staff/front desk. Also, I am really into spa food being offered while we wait. I was offered water and spotted a small table with a selection of unsightly crunchy fruit bits. I prefer chocolate strawberries and wine like other high-end spas. They should really upgrade the food selection. MASSAGE: The massage itself was average, except it was really oily. I liked the self-warming massage chairs but I didn't leave feeling as if all the kinks were worked out of my back. FACIAL: The facial was BAD... I get facials done almost every month and this one was amateur at best. Mine was done by Abby although I booked Amanda. She was young, and seemed very new to the equipment. I was never asked about my skin concerns and she hardly talked, she just went to work on my face. I left with RED/BLOTCHY skin and over the next week my skin looked worse than it had when I arrived. The ingredients were not all-natural or organic. The extractions were so rough on such dried out skin that I know my skin got irritated. The steamer was also so far away that it hardly did a thing. I was hoping my man had different experiences. He told me his massage was decent but for his facial he had NO EXTRACTIONS DONE. I was so upset when I found that out. I got him a facial so his razor bumps would go away and his self-confidence would escalate. OVERALL: Do your research. It's pricey & the staff doesn't give a hoot about any ol' customers passing by, just money. You're paying for the atmosphere and ambiance. If I could give this place no stars at all I would after calling today and speaking with Jennifer. I read other reviews on how unprofessional and rude they can be but decided to overlook the negative comments and give them a chance. I was considering having my wedding and engagement pictures taken here so I called to collect more information. Jennifer answered and sounded nice until I asked about engagement pictures without mentioning the wedding. Her complete tone of voice changed and I can't begin to describe how hateful, rude, and unprofessional this woman was to me. It's really a shame that a place this beautiful has someone as nasty and unprofessional as her to give it such a bad reputation. It was an honor to be a part of her bridal party, and we got to explore more of the establishment outside of the reception area. When we arrived, everyone was amazed by the spectacular view! Bella Collina is on a hill so you can really admire the hilly landscape of Montverde. You would not think there was a place like this outside of Orlando and close to Clermont (where my parents live!). I loved the Italian architecture and the cobblestone paths. The "locker room" and bathrooms together were the size of my 1 bedroom apartment! Another amazing thing here is the food! My favorite dish was the appetizer, a tasty Tomato Basil Soup with a finger-licking delicious Mini Grilled Cheese Sandwich! The entree, Braised Shortribs And Jumbo Shrimp, was delicious as well, as the short ribs just fell off the bone and the shrimp was so juicy! I'm ecstatic to be holding our wedding here next year! We went to visit the venue last week and take a tour. From the moment we drove through the gates, we were amazed by the beauty of Bella Collina. The views are incredible, and driving through the hills makes you forget you're in Florida. It truly looks like something out of Tuscany. We met with Melanie to tour the venue and start planning out wedding. She was incredibly helpful and spent hours with us showing us the different ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception locations on the property. The entire property is kept up beautifully and everything is perfection. They are currently building a ballroom onsite to seat 300 people, and that is sure to be beautiful as well. That is supposed to be done in March 2014. We even had the opportunity to eat at the 19th Hole, a restaurant on the property. The food was delicious! We can't wait to get married here. read more

Cobblestone roads, magnificent gate house, Italian Tuscany country-side feel as you drive through, amazing wooden bridge/tunnel that you drive through, impeccable club house....the list goes on. Golf course in great shape and challenging enough to make you think about your shot before you hit. This was the antithesis to Islesworth before the recession but it's still in great shape. Gorgeous. Stunning. Breath taking. Elegant. Sensational. How many adjective of praise could I use to describe this place? Many, many more. I came here for a wedding, so I don't know what the cost of this place would be, but I can imagine it's not cheap. My brother was the best man, so we dropped him off around noon, intending to drive around until the wedding at 5. Nope, didn't happen. Once we were here, there was no other place I wanted to be. I was taking Snapchats and bragging to a ton of my friends about how absolutely gorgeous it was. While wandering around, there was a particularly helpful staff member (can't remember her name) who showed me around a few places and explained that this place is directly modeled after a legitimate villa in Italy. And I could definitely see that. Gorgeous architecture, impeccable grounds, everything was just so... Perfectly beautiful. I felt like I was a princess in a castle in Italy, and I wasn't even the one getting married. There was a wading pool, countless patios overlooking the grounds where chairs were arranged. A fire pit. Fountains. A two-story "locker room" with a wing dedicated to old-fashioned bathtubs and modern showers. And there was even a wine cellar with a medieval looking wooden table that made me want to sit down and bang my cup of mead on it. And I didn't even get a chance to explore the whole grounds. It was shortened a bit by the Florida rains that switched on and off like a light switch. Even filled with billowing gray clouds, it was still absolutely breathtaking. I was told that just to be a member here, the dues are somewhere like 100 grand (or maybe you had to make that much a year in order to be a member?). Not sure if that is true, BUT it sure looked like something out of a fairy tale. The wedding was simple, with around 100 people, and since it rained, we were situated on an outdoor patio, with a covered roof that still allowed up to see the beautiful grounds stretching out below us. Simple ceremony, but very lovely. I am thankful I was a part of something so beautiful. It almost seemed like a Prince and Princess type of wedding. I say that, and I hate stuff like that (romance, love stories, princess stores... LAME). But give me a few hours in a magnificent castle and I get all misty eyed like I'm Sansa in "A Song of Ice and Fire". THE VERDICT: As far as price is concerned, I know absolutely nothing about it. But what I can attest is that you and your guests will love this place. It's like something out of a fairy tale, with a courteous staff, beautiful grounds, lovely architecture... I'm pretty sure I will be dreaming about this place for years to come, and I only wish I could have stowed away and lived out my days here as a hermit girl, crashing weddings and living a simple, beautiful life. read more

Been to Bella Collina three times to play tennis. The clay courts, facilities, and grounds of this club are lovely. I imagine this would make a beautiful place to have a wedding or special event. They have two venues for dining. We ate lunch in both, and both serve yummy food. read more
