There are both plus and minuses when it comes to this particular spa. Let me begin by saying that my girlfriends gifted me a $600 gift certificate to the spa here at sanctuary. They know how much I love spending the day at the spa. Let's talk about the facilities first! The spa is somewhat small and they don't have a sauna. They have a steam room, but it didn't really get that hot. The Jacuzzi was very nice and it was hot, so I enjoyed that. The showers are nothing to write home about. Some of the other spas that I have been to they have super nice showers like 3-D showers that are awesome. This particular shower head is one that I've got at home. The place is nice and clean, which I appreciate and the service was good, but the facilities did not blow me away like other facilities in the valley have blown me away! Now let's talk about my massage. Antoine is the real deal and if you decide to book a massage, I highly recommend that you ask for Antoine. I had the CBD massage and let me tell you it was orgasmic! The man has magical hands! After my massage, I decided to hang around the pool. The service here was very good. I ended up ordering a couple of cocktails and the shrimp cocktail. Both were outstanding. I'm not mad at the shrimp cocktail, though! These shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked! I have always enjoyed the food here at the sanctuary. In fact, my husband and I spent two days here at the resort after we were married as part of our honeymoon. They do have a coed quiet room which I enjoyed after my massage! I actually needed that quiet room after my massage, because that massage was so good that I wanted to curl up in a faint fetal position and suck my thumb!! I'll let your imagination roam on that one. Overall, a nice spa experience, but I was surprised at how small the spa actually is. If I come back, it will be because of Antoine and his magical hands! However, overall, not a bad experience, but there are better spas in Scottsdale! It's worth checking out...especially if you get Antoine as a masseuse!!

The hotel I stayed at did not have massage services, so they recommended Sanctuary not far away at another resort. The overall experience had some plusses and minuses, but overall it was a 3 Star experience. Positives: Paula was an excellent masseuse. She used her elbows and forearms to work out the knots in my legs; Negatives: They automatically charge you 20% gratuity. In this case it was warranted bc Paula did an excellent job. However, I hate places that contribute to poor tip culture. It should be up to the client; The spa is a long walk from the parking lot; You have to walk outside the spa to get to the treatment rooms; There is no sauna. At this price point (+$300 inc tip & taxes), I expected more in pre-treatment amenities. In this case, the negatives outweigh the positives. I would not return despite Paula being an excellent masseuse.

Enjoying the zen view from the relaxation waiting room while I was waiting for my massage therapist.

I've been here a few times and my experience from arriving until leaving the Spa has always been great! Every single staff member is always so kind and willing to help if you need anything. I do wish they had cucumber infused water. Nothing feels better than drinking that right after a massage, during a steam room sitting, in the hot tub or just relaxing. Overall, love this place and service has always been great!

I was badly in need of a massage. I had heard wonderful things about the Sanctuary spa service. The customer service was excellent. I let them know this was my 1st time here. I had a tour of the inside of the spa. Which is beautiful and the atmosphere is very relaxing. My massage therapist was excellent. I was very relaxed during it and could have fallen asleep easily. I do regret not having the time to stay and enjoy the resort area. I was told I was welcomed to stay the day and enjoy everything. I will be back.

Had a wonderful time at Sanctuary Spa! The spa itself was smaller than expected, but the staff made sure it was clean & spotless. I purchased my deal from Groupon & was charged a 20% gratuity at the door. The indoor hot tub was very small, but the steam room was spacious & felt amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my massage from Tara. She applied a lot of pressure which left me sore, but the tension is gone. The pool bar was yummy. The shrimp were HUGE & the truffle fries were cooked well. At the end of my day, I stumbled across a "Sound Bath Therapy" session with a lovely instructor. She was the cherry on top of my experience. Overall, I would recommend this spa & book again!

I have very mixed feelings about my experience here. I will start off by saying their mask policy is very confusing. I was told I have to wear a mask while entering and walking around the locker room and for my service when I am face up. Some of the staff weren't wearing masks indoors and I didn't either as I was in and out of jacuzzi, pool, etc. Most of the time it was not strictly enforced (which I appreciated). Except I was forced to put a mask on to walk to my massage after sitting in the waiting room for my massage without one on. Here is the kicker...you walk OUTSIDE to your massage room. So I was forced to put a mask on to walk outside to then take it off for my massage until I am face up. If I am going to pay $200 for a service I do not want to deal with having to wear a face covering. And I will say they did inform me of this before my arrival, but it was too late to cancel here. They should just stick with the "masks are strongly encouraged" and allow each guest to use their own discretion. Here is the rest of my breakdown. Parking/Entrance: There is plenty of parking. It is a bit of a walk to the spa entrance and the spa is poorly labeled as I walked right by it and had to search around for the entrance. It is to the right once you go up the first part of the stairs before you get to where the stairs to the pool are. There are multiple stairs to climb to get there and it's near the tennis courts so you are walking by an ugly looking fence. The women who greeted me upon entering the spa was very friendly and professional. Facilities: The women who take care of the locker room/spa amenity area are amazing! They check up on you, make sure you have what you need, and even offered to take my robe and towel when I asked where I should put it. They are constantly restocking, picking up and cleaning around the area. I was very impressed with this aspect. The jacuzzi is in a weird area of the locker rooms and it is tiny. There is also alot of echo that happens when people are talking there. The relaxation room is spacious and nice. I did not use the sauna, but it is eucalyptus infused and pretty decent sized. The showers here are nice and everything you need is provided. Massage: Michael did my massage and he is amazing! 5 stars for him! The pressure was just what I asked for and he asked if anything was bothering me. I had done a workout that focused on hip flexors and was pretty sore. I left the massage without pain anymore. He really helped stretched and massage out the soreness. His massage technique was unique in little ways and added a nice touch to the massage because it wasn't just another run of the mill massage. If you are going to have a massage here I highly recommend requesting him! Pool: This is where the experience declines to a 1-2 star experience. The views are amazing! The staff is friendly, but the service was poor. We were greeted immediately and they helped us set up chairs and gave us a menu as we informed them we wanted to order food. And then no one came back to take our food order. After waiting 20-30 minutes we got up and flagged someone down so we could order. The food is subpar and very expensive for what you get (see photo). I ordered the salad...for $21 which I could have put together at home for like $2. The description said it came with dill and mint which I thought would add a little something to the salad, but they left those off. It was very disappointing. Overall, not a horrible experience, but definitely not 5 stars all around. If I do come back I will wait until I'm not forced to wear a mask. I will also make sure to ask for Michael for a massage and make sure it's at a time that doesn't fall during lunch time so I don't need to order food at the pool.

First time visiting this spa and I got a 60 minute massage. The massage was amazing. I had the worst knot in my back and the therapist did so great and getting it out the next day I felt so much better! The spa is super clean and the view from the waiting room is amazing. All of the staff members were super sweet. My only complain is when I booked i was told we would have access to all of the amenities for the day including the infinity pool, however when I asked where the pool was I was told that on the weekends it's only for hotel guests and members. I'm sorry but as much as we pay for a spa service we should have access to that especially since I was told that on the phone. I was more upset about it because we checked out of our hotel at mountain shadows because we thought we would spend the rest of the day at the pool here. Well luckily I was able to call the resort and was able to get a key to relax at the pool.

My favorite spa experience was at the Sanctuary spa. There was a jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna for spa use. The massage was very relaxing with the sound of the water fountain outside. Great ambiance overall. After relaxing at the spa, I spent the rest of the day by the pool. I felt like I was in paradise with wonderful pool service, food, and views.

We had to close our shades as the wedding can see directly into our room and the music is LOUD (Chris Brown is blasting as I type and bass, mercy is it bumping.) It was kinda creepy. We could see and hear the entire ceremony. In my reservation I requested a quiet room, and I have quiet room in my Hyatt profile. I don't think that much forethought is put into guest placement. Yes, we are paying pennies compared to this wedding BUT they are not fostering relationships with Hyatt members. (I did mention this to reception and they offered bonus points. Great BUT this is an awful last night.) The room: King Casita is an excellent size! We have a king bed and a rollaway bed and we still have space! The bathroom space is large too! I don't care for a stocked fridge and snacks. It's useless nowadays. We had to ask for a fridge to be brought in. The room is very clean, however there were a few moths flying around the room, which was odd. Pool: the pool is wonderful! We are here on spring break (a very popular travel week) and always found spots at the pool. The servers are the pool are awesome 5/5 stars! Attentive and professional. The food at the pool was great (the burger was the restaurant burger and the whipped ricotta and fruit was yummy). The location is great! We did rent a car but never had to drive far! The valet team is speedy but it's an odd service as the parking spaces are super close. (I was ready to give this place 4 stars but this last night is a stinky way to end the trip.)

The showers make you feel brand new and the rooftop pool is secluded and peaceful. I got the shrimp kabobs at the rooftop and it was so incredible I booked another service to come back the next day! My only add is that the services themselves could use improvement. I had a massage yesterday where my therapist spent 7 min of my 50 min explaining to me the massage and talking to me rather than providing me with my service. While I very directly asked for deep tissue, she refused saying that is not what I needed. I tried several times to politely redirect Ms.Annette ( my masseuse) and express that that is what I would like, but ultimately I felt uncomfortable and unable to advocate for myself in this vulnerable space. She took it upon herself to do what she thought I needed rather than what I asked for and expressed I wanted. This was frustrating. My nail tech for my pedicure, Nora, also started 6 min late for my pedicure despite no one else being in the salon. This normally would be no issue for me ( I am at a spa after all!) but it is frustrating that the scheduled end of the service is not adjusted to align with the providers tardiness. Finally, the spa attendants in the bathroom area(s) could not be any friendlier or more helpful. One even brought me water while I was getting ready. It's the little things! I love coming here for the amenities, pool, and food, but I am tempted and would recommend to go otherwhere for better quality services ( massage and pedicure) where providers are excited/ agreeable to align with client direction and requests

So today we booked it as part of a birthday and Mother's Day weekend celebration. When our technician called out, staff member Madison called us at 9:02 AM and offered to upgrade my pedicure into a massage at no extra charge since our technician called in sick. I told her my husband won't go to the pedicure alone and asked how much do we need to pay for him if we also upgrade his service into a massage? Madison proceeded to place me on hold and came back and said don't worry about the upgrade for Mr. Fish and I got immediately excited and so happy and thanked her , told her will be there by 10 AM.. Upon arrival, we were handed a bill for $635 a Kimberly checked us in. I said I spoke to a Madison and she was next to her and confirmed to Kimberly at the front that our price was $240 total based on our earlier conversation She even told me Kimberly that we are getting upgraded to 2 Artisan massages. We went ahead with our massages trusting it was resolved. We had the best time and enjoyed as normal and ended up leaving around 4PM. At checkout, my husband went downstairs and Madison is now presenting him with the $635 bill!!! Of course like anyone in his position he would be shocked! Like what?!!!! He felt like he was having an out of body experience!! Madison's explanation, and I quote " I misspoke"claimed she misspoke and gave my husband the $635 bill telling my husband that her manager Jed told her while we were getting our massages that what she was told by her manager Jed that they can longer provide what was promised to me on the phone and at checkout. This was going while I was still upstairs, and saw my husband upset. I asked what's going on and he said don't worry about it I will handle this, he said it's your birthday and I am not letting them spoil your day . When confronted, Madison denied ever offering the upgrade in front of her manager when my husband said that's what she said. My husband did not even want me in this conversation because it was birthday/Mother's Day weekend and he did not want to spoil my day.. . What was meant to be a special weekend turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience. We loved the massages but left feeling disappointed by Madison. I have to say Madison has been so pleasant and super friendly every time we were there, to get this treatment from her, this really hurt me especially on my day and so unexpected. The manager Jed in my opinion did not handle this right. He should have asked Kimberly listened to the call that was made. I don't know but this was handled very poorly in my opinion. Madison had so many chances to make this right but chose not to. What was offered in good faith was taken back without accountability. We hope management reviews the 9:02 AM call recording, because that will tell the whole story or even speak to Kimberly that Madison corrected when we checked in. This is making me feel like I can't trust this company. Moving forward I want to record conversations or make sure I have proof or something because their word is not to be trusted. This leaves my amazing birthday/Mother's Day weekend ending in a bad note because of this.

I definitely recommend getting an early appointment if possible because the locker room got overcrowded around 12 and I had to wait in the seating area for about 30 minutes to use any amenities in there. The showers, steam room, and hot tub attached to the locker rooms were nice though and the robes they gave us to use were great quality. The pool was also very nice. The facial itself was great but I was not happy with the the staff. When I entered the room, the lady asked me about dermaplaning and if that's what I was there for. I explained that my boyfriend booked the appointment so whatever he paid for was what I was there for. She said okay then asked again to make sure my skin wouldn't have any bad reactions to dermaplaning and did the facial. When we went to check out for the day, the total was more than expected so I asked about the bill. The lady at the desk mentioned dermaplaning was an additional charge. I was definitely annoyed that the first lady tricked me into that for what I assume is a larger automatic tip, but I was also annoyed that the lady at the desk didn't even apologize for the misunderstanding after I explained my frustration. Since my boyfriend paid, I am not sure if the price was worth it in my opinion, but he said that the day at the spa was not worth the price especially after the added gratuity. Overall the spa itself was nice but I didn't appreciate the staff at all. Most likely will not be returning out of spite.

Overall a good massage but I had to ask her twice to decrease the pressure and she also didn't put an eye mask on me when I flipped onto my back, which was awkward. It was also freezing in the room and although she said she put it on warm, it never warmed up. I was ok on the warm table, but when I got up afterwards, it was still as freezing as when I got in. They recently did a renovation and the women's shower area is really nice with big individual frosted glass showers with a dry area in front of the shower so that your things don't get wet. Prior to our massages, we enjoyed the co-ed pool area which is for spa guests only, 18+. This was a relaxing area with several water features with different pressures that you could stand under. They also had two small pools to the left which was a cold plunge and a hot plunge (no jets). The views of the mountains were so relaxing and the waiter Daniel was highly available for you to order food and drinks if wanted. Then I went to the women's only area to shower. They offer the most amazing smelling salt scrub (complementary) that makes your skin so soft. Don't forget to grab a bowl! The attendants in the women's area were so helpful. In this area was also a steam room, sauna and an area to dump a bucket of cold water on yourself. They also had 3 heated beds that you can lay on for 10 minutes before your treatment. After the massage, you go in a co-ed sanctuary and lay on a bed with a weighted blanket with noise canceling headphones for 25 minutes. This bed also vibrates to the sounds you choose. One side of my headphones wasn't working unfortunately. After, this led into a co-ed lounge. The hot water maker was already put away (at 5:06pm when they close at 6pm) so I couldn't make myself a cup of tea afterwards - especially when I still felt freezing, which was really disappointing. I expected more for $295 - better snacks and tea available until closing time. I don't think that is a lot to ask for. With so many spas in the area, if ever back in Scottsdale, we don't plan to return.

I really wanted to do the Hammam ritual here so I saved up for a long time. I enjoyed it and felt…read moregreat when it was done but I feel like it wasn't thoughtfully crafted and probably only worth about half of what they charged. The first part is to go into what they call a private warming Hammam room, but the warming room is actually not private and is open to everyone using the sauna. There is a private treatment room, and I think this is really what you are paying a small fortune for--to lie down on a 200-year-old authentic Cherrywood Hammam table for an exfoliation scrub. The table itself is beautiful but not very comfortable--it's high up, so hard to get onto, and--like all wood tables--is very hard. Next you are supposed to go through a self-guided journey through the steam, sauna, whirlpool, warming room again, and cold deluge. They have a recommended circuit but there is no way to actually follow the times on it because you only have 25 minutes (and it took me 5 to get my swimsuit back on). I think I was expecting to be able to spend this time focusing on the experience, but it felt more like I was rushing through the steps in time while hanging out in the spa with everyone else, trying to run through all of the steps in time. Finally, the website says this ends with a massage with CBD or arnica oil. This is in a separate room and on a regular and more comfortable table. Mine was just a regular massage, no oils, though I got to choose between lavender and eucalyptus scents. They do have fun add-ons, like shea butter or cupping or hot stones, but those don't add additional time, so you're paying extra to have a massage take less time so they can add on the other thing you paid for. But if you go during your birthday month you get a free add-on. Anyway, my massage therapist was really good but not $580 good.(I don't know if anyone could be!) There are a lot of spas hat are supposed to be for intentional purposes--like a place to put a rock selected for its qualities, or you can put your hand on an enormous crystal imported from Brazil. But they kind of rush you through this part and it doesn't really seem to be designed with care. For example, there is a fountain outside to put the rock that you see before you even receive a rock. It's not clear that you're supposed to pick it up on the way out. There is no clock in the room where you wait for your appointment. The hooks to hang your robe or towel are and there aren't enough hooks for the number of people. Etc. Overall I think $580 is way overpriced for what is offered, which is basically a scrub and massage and the same spa amenities as everyone else. I was also disappointed by the snack selection--they just had trail mix and dried mangos. I guess I am spoiled because I've been to Aji Spa, which has the most amazing selection of snacks and you can get a wrap and massage for roughly half the price. And it's really somewhere you want to hang out at all day. The food menu on the website is also out of date--I'd decided what I wanted to order ahead of time but it wasn't available. So overall I felt like this ritual didn't have the attention and care I would expect for something this expensive. I am glad I treated myself to this experience but would not do it again.

Lots of activities you can do like hammam bath for back, sauna, cold plunge that was really a shower lol, jacuzzi. Then a whisper room where you can lounge on beds and chill. A prep waiting room with water and nut and mango type snacks. And of course the rooftop pool outside with amazing views!! On upside I got to try every activity here lol and it wasn't too crowded (and they give you bathrobes and lockers and stuff), but on other hand it did seem expensive bordering on pretentious to me a bit. But still really grateful I got to check it out!

Parking is free, and self-serve in the front of the property. La Vidorra is a boutique style spa. They do not have amenities like a sauna, steam room, or locker room. However, they have a restroom inside the spa if you need to change into your bathing suit for the pool. Alexis, the spa manager helped me when arrived. She was extremely kind, and gave me guidance on where the pool was located. My massage treatment was very relaxing and my therapist got all the tension out of neck. After my massage, I went to the pool and relaxed with a book for the rest of the afternoon. I enjoyed some tacos & frose, and had an amazing afternoon!

Entering the spa itself, you're greeted and asked to wait in the waiting area until they call you. When you're called it, you're escorted to your spa room. I was given a spacious room because the tub and the massage table were in one. The soak experience was a claw tub already filled with a bubble bath. You're given a bath bomb to include, if you choose. I found the tub to have extremely hot water, so I had to drain it a bit and cool the water temp a bit. If you're a fan of a soak, this is for you. If you're not a fan of baths/soaks, then don't do this. The massage therapist gave me a knock to tell me soak time was up and I was to get on the table. The massage was the best part. The therapist had heavy hands, as I requested. She worked problem areas and I felt such relief after. Once it was all done, you had time to get dressed and leave. The showers in the room did t work, so you had to forgo that. You're given a beverage after and you're on your way. Overall, it was a great experience, a little pricy, but worth it. Staff was friendly and the spa was clean. I felt my back stay loose for a week after that, my masseuse was that great!

After checking in, you're guided downstairs to the locker rooms where you're given an assigned key, robe, and slippers to get comfortable. The quiet waiting area before your service sets a calm tone, and each therapist we've had has been friendly and experienced. After your spa services, you're welcome to spend the rest of the day enjoying the pool and hot tub area. The space is a little outdated, but still peaceful. Both visits happened to fall on BINGO days by the pool, which was surprisingly fun--I even won a few prizes! There's a poolside bar, though no one has been outside either time to take orders. You can order directly at the window or head inside to a small bar and seating area. The same employee bartends and handles food service for both areas, so orders can take a bit longer--but they do their best, and the drinks are inexpensive and good. Overall, we've enjoyed both visits. While the pricing is comparable to some newer or more polished spas, this one makes up for it with its laid-back vibe and generous amenities. If you're after a luxury aesthetic, this might not be your place--but if you want a relaxing day with cheap poolside drinks and no rush, this is definitely a great spot to unwind.

Although it is not a nice as some other spas i've been to in Scottsdale, they do have a nice locker room and relaxation area. I was expecting there to be a sauna and steam room as well, but we couldn't find them and we weren't shown where they were. That was a little disappointing. The pool area was nice and clean, and we enjoyed getting drinks from the bar area, although I was expecting there to be a bartender walking around offering drinks but they do not do that there. The main reason I wanted to leave a review was because of services we received. As a group we felt like none of our therapists/estheticians used enough pressure and even when asked to use more, they did not. For my treatment, my provider did not explain any of the products she was using, nor did she ask what areas I wanted to be massaged during my treatment. I would have preferred a neck and shoulder massage but she massaged my feet without asking. Overall, I expect a facial to include a good amount of facial massage and pressure and unfortunately I didn't get either. I am definitely dissatisfied and regret spending the money. My esthetician was very nice and informative when it came to my at home routine, though! We will definitely not return in the future and we will frequent spas that we had a better experience at. It's a shame, we were really looking forward to this!
