Sanctuary Spa was such a delightful experience. I got to enjoy the pool and lounge area since I booked a 60 minute massage. As soon as I arrived, Maria showed me around. I received a robe and slides. I immediately felt the serenity and calming nature of my surroundings. Maria was incredible and so accomodating throughout my stay. There are showers, bathrooms, sanitary products, razors, and blow dryers. I left my belongings in my locker when I went to the pool area. There is a specific code for each locker that you set. There is also a fitness center to enjoy as well. The path to the massage areas is partially outdoors. My massage was fantastic. Very peaceful and the pressure was mild. I love the lavender accent. There are both plus and minuses when it comes to this particular spa. Let me begin by saying that my girlfriends gifted me a $600 gift certificate to the spa here at sanctuary. They know how much I love spending the day at the spa. Let's talk about the facilities first! The spa is somewhat small and they don't have a sauna. They have a steam room, but it didn't really get that hot. The Jacuzzi was very nice and it was hot, so I enjoyed that. The showers are nothing to write home about. Some of the other spas that I have been to they have super nice showers like 3-D showers that are awesome. This particular shower head is one that I've got at home. The place is nice and clean, which I appreciate and the service was good, but the facilities did not blow me away like other facilities in the valley have blown me away! Now let's talk about my massage. Antoine is the real deal and if you decide to book a massage, I highly recommend that you ask for Antoine. I had the CBD massage and let me tell you it was orgasmic! The man has magical hands! After my massage, I decided to hang around the pool. The service here was very good. I ended up ordering a couple of cocktails and the shrimp cocktail. Both were outstanding. I'm not mad at the shrimp cocktail, though! These shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked! I have always enjoyed the food here at the sanctuary. In fact, my husband and I spent two days here at the resort after we were married as part of our honeymoon. They do have a coed quiet room which I enjoyed after my massage! I actually needed that quiet room after my massage, because that massage was so good that I wanted to curl up in a faint fetal position and suck my thumb!! I'll let your imagination roam on that one. Overall, a nice spa experience, but I was surprised at how small the spa actually is. If I come back, it will be because of Antoine and his magical hands! The hotel I stayed at did not have massage services, so they recommended Sanctuary not far away at another resort. The overall experience had some plusses and minuses, but overall it was a 3 Star experience. Positives: Paula was an excellent masseuse. She used her elbows and forearms to work out the knots in my legs; Negatives: They automatically charge you 20% gratuity. In this case it was warranted bc Paula did an excellent job. However, I hate places that contribute to poor tip culture. It should be up to the client; The spa is a long walk from the parking lot; You have to walk outside the spa to get to the treatment rooms; There is no sauna. At this price point (+$300 inc tip & taxes), I expected more in pre-treatment amenities. In this case, the negatives outweigh the positives. I've been here a few times and my experience from arriving until leaving the Spa has always been great! Every single staff member is always so kind and willing to help if you need anything. The spa is very small and amenities are limited but overall a nice experience. The waiting area is extremely tight and underwhelming for the price you are paying - they do not have complimentary champagne and the ice bucket was always empty. My prenatal massage was great and their outdoor pool is very nice. However, the whirlpool is tiny and was also broken during our visit and no dry sauna. The coed quiet room was comfortable and relaxing- the lounge chairs are great! They have blow dryers but remember to bring your own curling iron/ straightener if you plan to get ready here after treatments. read more

I was badly in need of a massage. I had heard wonderful things about the Sanctuary spa service. The customer service was excellent. I let them know this was my 1st time here. I had a tour of the inside of the spa. Which is beautiful and the atmosphere is very relaxing. My massage therapist was excellent. I was very relaxed during it and could have fallen asleep easily. Had a wonderful time at Sanctuary Spa! The spa itself was smaller than expected, but the staff made sure it was clean & spotless. I purchased my deal from Groupon & was charged a 20% gratuity at the door. The indoor hot tub was very small, but the steam room was spacious & felt amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my massage from Tara. She applied a lot of pressure which left me sore, but the tension is gone. The pool bar was yummy. The shrimp were HUGE & the truffle fries were cooked well. At the end of my day, I stumbled across a "Sound Bath Therapy" session with a lovely instructor. She was the cherry on top of my experience. I have very mixed feelings about my experience here. I will start off by saying their mask policy is very confusing. I was told I have to wear a mask while entering and walking around the locker room and for my service when I am face up. Some of the staff weren't wearing masks indoors and I didn't either as I was in and out of jacuzzi, pool, etc. Most of the time it was not strictly enforced (which I appreciated). Except I was forced to put a mask on to walk to my massage after sitting in the waiting room for my massage without one on. Here is the kicker...you walk OUTSIDE to your massage room. So I was forced to put a mask on to walk outside to then take it off for my massage until I am face up. If I am going to pay $200 for a service I do not want to deal with having to wear a face covering. And I will say they did inform me of this before my arrival, but it was too late to cancel here. They should just stick with the "masks are strongly encouraged" and allow each guest to use their own discretion. Here is the rest of my breakdown. Parking/Entrance: There is plenty of parking. It is a bit of a walk to the spa entrance and the spa is poorly labeled as I walked right by it and had to search around for the entrance. It is to the right once you go up the first part of the stairs before you get to where the stairs to the pool are. There are multiple stairs to climb to get there and it's near the tennis courts so you are walking by an ugly looking fence. The women who greeted me upon entering the spa was very friendly and professional. Facilities: The women who take care of the locker room/spa amenity area are amazing! They check up on you, make sure you have what you need, and even offered to take my robe and towel when I asked where I should put it. They are constantly restocking, picking up and cleaning around the area. I was very impressed with this aspect. The jacuzzi is in a weird area of the locker rooms and it is tiny. There is also alot of echo that happens when people are talking there. The relaxation room is spacious and nice. I did not use the sauna, but it is eucalyptus infused and pretty decent sized. The showers here are nice and everything you need is provided. Massage: Michael did my massage and he is amazing! 5 stars for him! The pressure was just what I asked for and he asked if anything was bothering me. I had done a workout that focused on hip flexors and was pretty sore. I left the massage without pain anymore. He really helped stretched and massage out the soreness. His massage technique was unique in little ways and added a nice touch to the massage because it wasn't just another run of the mill massage. If you are going to have a massage here I highly recommend requesting him! Pool: This is where the experience declines to a 1-2 star experience. The views are amazing! The staff is friendly, but the service was poor. We were greeted immediately and they helped us set up chairs and gave us a menu as we informed them we wanted to order food. And then no one came back to take our food order. After waiting 20-30 minutes we got up and flagged someone down so we could order. The food is subpar and very expensive for what you get (see photo). I ordered the salad...for $21 which I could have put together at home for like $2. The description said it came with dill and mint which I thought would add a little something to the salad, but they left those off. It was very disappointing. Overall, not a horrible experience, but definitely not 5 stars all around. If I do come back I will wait until I'm not forced to wear a mask. I will also make sure to ask for Michael for a massage and make sure it's at a time that doesn't fall during lunch time so I don't need to order food at the pool. read more

What a wonderful place! Enjoyed a massage and was able to use the other areas of the spa including the gym. This place is encouraging masks inside and in the gym but most people were not wearing one which was fine with me! Gym was small but fine enough for my workout. The pool adjoining the gym is a small lap pool with chairs around it. For the massage I had to wear a mask and the massage itself was very nice and relaxing. The spa area where the steam, sauna, showers, and bathrooms were was very clean with someone in there constantly cleaning up things. Definitely recommend! read more

Upon arrival to the Sanctuary it is worth nothing that there are about 10-15 stairs to get to the spa. SMR car service drops off at the lower lot, near the Sanctuary sign and tennis courts. They have golf carts for mobility limited guests. Christy at the front desk checked me in, and had me sign for my service and tip before my service. 20% grat included. Maria was ready to take me to the back immediately after check in. She is very sweet. She calls everyone beautiful. Maris gives a great tour of the locker room and amenities and helps you with the lock on your locker. In my hour and half stay, I observed Maria diligently maintaining the cleanliness of the space and providing top notch customer service. The locker including a big fluffy blueish gray hooded bathroom and slippers. Here is a list of all the supplies I saw: Shampoo Conditioner Body Wash Shaving Cream Hairspray Hand sanitizer Individually wrapped razors Individually wrapped combs Hair dryers Lotion Sunscreen Towels One big missing item: MAKE UP WIPES Refreshments included: tea, coffee, iced tea, and water. I will say I was a little disappointed it wasn't fruit infused water. There are 3 restrooms (read toilets), and 1 dressing room. Although most people were changing in the locker room. There are also lots of sitting areas for chatting and reading. Spa Rooms Women's Quiet Room - This is a dark, cooled room with these ergonomic lounge chairs. The room seats 12 and is very dark. Steam Room - This is a large, clean steam room with the typical eucalyptus steam. The room seats 20+ comfortably. Jacuzzi: seats 6-8. Towels provided. Pool - I stopped by the pool on my way into the spa, but did not use it as it was up a bunch of steps and crowded with hotel guests. Gym - Machines are distanced/ closed due to covid. Masks provided. They have at least 1 each of Rowing machine Stairmaster Elliptical Treadmill Abductor/ Adductor Weight machines Kettle bells Free weights Stability balls. The also provided masks, cold towels, and electrolyte beverage. Massage Service At 2:30 Heather promptly picked me up from the sitting room. All of the staff use the same script, "Good morning ladies, is First Name, Last Name ready?" The treatment room was a short walk away. The treatment room was very normal, no wow factor. Heather was very nice, she asked about my day, ailments, areas of tension, and pressure. I did not tell her specific areas of tension but specified pressure. She hit the pressure spot on, and found my tension spots (typical neck shoulders). They offer complimentary aromatherapy with the treatment. Unfortunately, with the mask requirement for treatments it was hard to smell the aromatherapy. Options for aromatherapy were Whitetea, Lavender, and one other one I can't remember. The music and room temperature were great. I did notice they don't use knee bolsters because their beds are fancy and adjust for knees. I already had a water in hand when I arrived for my appointment, so Heather did not bring me another one post treatment After the treatment, Heather walked me back to spa and asked if she should drop me off in the sitting room or the quiet room. I bought a groupon for a pedicure. I was not able to reach them, and my groupon expired before I could try them again to schedule. When I contacted them, they stated my groupon was no longer valid and they would not offer a credit. They said I had to pay the difference for the service I purchased. I was out of date by one week. First time visiting this spa and I got a 60 minute massage. The massage was amazing. I had the worst knot in my back and the therapist did so great and getting it out the next day I felt so much better! The spa is super clean and the view from the waiting room is amazing. All of the staff members were super sweet. My only complain is when I booked i was told we would have access to all of the amenities for the day including the infinity pool, however when I asked where the pool was I was told that on the weekends it's only for hotel guests and members. I'm sorry but as much as we pay for a spa service we should have access to that especially since I was told that on the phone. I was more upset about it because we checked out of our hotel at mountain shadows because we thought we would spend the rest of the day at the pool here. Sadly the overall experience here is not worth the price tag. When a resort bills itself around its Spa services I would expect a pretty nice experience. Everyone is extremely nice, so they do a great job in dealing with and working with guests. Also the person who handled my facial was really nice, but I feel the overall facial lacked a lot of wow factor at a $200 price tag. They provided me a discount for having to change the time of my service which was frustrating as it is supposed to be a day when things are done on my schedule and not theirs, but they did apologize and provided a nice discount to my service. I think the apporpriate thing to do would have been to offer a free voucher for next time instead, but thats not my call. Oh and they billed me the wrong amount. Suffice to say, the operation and quality at Sanctuary is average at best, which is normally acceptable, but not at a 5 Star resort that bills itself as a premier Spa destination. I love the Sanctuary Spa! I think yesterday was my 4th time to go over the past 6 years or so. I've had both massages and facials here. Yesterday I had a Jewel facial by Cindy. She was excellent. Loved the pumpkin mask and everything else I got. My facial also came with a foot, hand and scalp massage. It was so relaxing and cleansing. A treat for the senses. After my facial my friend and I relaxed in the quiet room, then to the hot tub, then out to the pool. My friend got a Hydrofacial, which was more of an intense treatment compared to mine. She said it was great. We lounged and lunched by the pool for hours. I am not sure about what the other reviews said about spa guests not welcome at the infinity pool. We have always gone to that pool no problem. We had really good drinks by the pool-Palomas-yes they were pricy, but hey we are at a spa in Scottsdale! I had the chicken Asian salad and my friend had bbq quesadillas. The food was wonderful, as was our whole experience. Whoa, what a huge disappointment! My entire spa experience was not, what I was expecting at all! First of all, the pictures on line,truly make this place, seem like a Sanctuary. On the contrary, I must say! Good marketing! I brought my daughter in law here for her birthday, I purchased two 60 minutes custom massages, and added two enhancements, scalp massage with lime oil, and hair mask. (I'll get to that in a moment.) PARKING: Let's start at the beginning, pulling into the Sanctuary, seems very underwhelming, it's self park, and you follow the signs that read "spa," which is just a back parking lot, behind the tennis courts. Not a huge deal, I know...However, given it was for a special occasion, I was left disappointed in my first impression. On a more serious note regarding the parking, when we left the spa, it was evening and dark time, Half the parking lot was pitch black! Of course the side we parked in was not lit at all! We literally had to get our phone flashlights out! Inexcusable! For safely, tripping, and pure uncomfortableness! CHECKING IN: Once we walked from the parking lot, to the spa, we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist, we checked in, confirmed our services, she ran my credit card, and I was told to leave it open in case we add services, and decide to tip more than the already added pre-determine tip amount, made by the spa. (Which Is not uncommon,) however, the way the receptionist informed me, sounded like tipping more was encouraged. (Just seemed cheezy!) THE TOUR: Next, a sweet lady who I could hardly understand, and constantly called everyone, "beauty and beautiful," gave us a tour of the spa, and lockers. She was incredibly sweet, I did give her a tip when we left, she was constantly checking on us, and making sure we had everything, and staying busy in the spa, making sure everything was up to par. Unfortunately the layout of this spa was unimpressive. The locker rooms are just across from the spa waiting area, as well as the showers, it was very strange. Everything about it seemed very "healthclub-ish," not at all the ambience you expect at a high-end resort. It was bright, not the dim relaxing rooms you expect, however, the ladies quiet room, was luxurious. The steam room is located at the end of the toilets, (restrooms,) the hot tub, could literally only fit 3 people comfortably, very small. The vibe of this place is not the relaxing feel you seek at a high end resort. The waiting room was cold, yes, even in Arizona, January, is cold! They had the windows open, leaving it cold and unwelcoming. The bath robes given were a lifesaver! They were thick and very comfortable, thank goodness! AMENITIES: We had a an hour 1/2 before our service began, so we went to the infinity pool area, that's located just up some steps from the spa. We had very good service out there, a hostess set up our chairs with covers, and took our drink orders, and we got a little appetizer or veggies and hummus. All was very good outside the spa! THE TREATMENTS: Once we returned to the spa, we had just a short wait before the masseuse's came for us, they lead us outside, to the massage rooms, they are unexpected, again not the plush rooms I was hoping for. Again it was COLD, the room was chilly, and my bed was not pre-warmed. It took awhile before I could feel the warmth! Half way through my massage, I finally asked if she could turn on the heat, she agreed it was cold, and said she turned up the heat, a few minutes ago. I'm assuming she saw my goosebumps!! The massage was absolutely nothing special, it was so light, and boring. I don't think I've ever had such a poor massage, as that one! I ordered the enhancement, of the scalp and hair conditioning. ( huge mistake!) this was the most irritating treatment! She applied the hair conditioner in my dry hair, making it sticky, so as she tried to give me the poorest excuse for a scalp massage ever, I was left irritated, every time my hair got caught and pulled! Think goodness she stopped in about 10 minutes. But what a rip off, after paying extra for this treatment. I was expecting so much more, maybe a nice warm towel to dampen my hair, or maybe some hot oil! Anything beside some cold hair conditioner,NOTHING SPECIAL! After spending more than $500.00, for our time at the spa, I guarantee you, I will never return! I've been to many nice spas around the area and in other states. I decided to treat myself for my birthday and purchased a Groupon for a 50 minute massage. I had my appointment 2 days ago which I had booked online. The spa itself was nice and relaxing. My massage therapist was Sandy/Sandra and she was great! She asked me questions and made sure I was comfortable throughout the massage. She offered something additional (like a moisturiser?) which you are able to do on your hands or feet. I decided to do it on my feet because they started cracking from the heat here in AZ. Well whatever it was made a huge difference! I now have healtht and happy looking feet. =) My only complaint is communication was lacking. You are suppose to be at your appointment 30 minutes before your appointment and I was running late. I called 3x within an hour there was no answer and nobody returned my message. You book online which was easy but I had some questions and thought they would call and give a reminder about the appointment. (Like you do from doctor appointments or dinner reservations.) I figured I could ask questions at that time. There was no call. When I got to the spa there was only one receptionist who was held up answering questions for someone. I also just didn't feel here attitude was friendly which made me concerned if this was going to be a negative experience. My other complaint was that there was construction and I could hear it periodically through the massage. Service was great, everyone was pleasant and efficient. I personally would not return or recommend to friends based on personal preferences. Spa is a bit small, no sauna and the pool is the resort pool. The biggest disappointment was how loud it was. In the steam room I could hear everyone just outside the room. Noone used a low voice as is typical in spa environments. The massage was ok, no essential oils anywhere (massage or steam room) which was disappointing. There are no cell phone signs and everyone had cellphones out in the womens locker room. Steam room wasn't very warm. I had lunch by the pool and the food and service was great. Parking was free. If I was giving a review on the massage, I'd give it four stars. The reason I am giving it two is because of the timeframe. I had received a gift certificate via Groupon for a "spa day package with massage or facial." I was told my appointment was 10:45. Unfortunately, I ran late; therefore, I didn't show up till a little before 11:00. I quickly was ushered to the locker room, given instructions as to how to use the combination lock, which I had a hard time understanding the receptionist because of her accent. I changed my clothes in the private dressing room in the bathroom and put on the robe and slippers. I went out to the waiting area and met Sharon my massage therapist. I was quickly taken back to the room for the massage. She asked if I wanted a foot or hand massage. I said hand. That was quite enjoyable. After massaging them, she put my hands in warmed gloves. Then she got to work on the rest of my body. She gave a nice scalp and face massage. Definitely go without make up. Then she worked on my body. She asked if the pressure was good, and I said it was, but I was thinking it was on the light side and was going to tell her later, but I didn't want her giving me pain. Before I knew it, we were done. I looked at the clock in the room, and it was 11:35. I thought, wow! Quick! I figured, by the time I figured out the lock, changed, walked out to meet Sharon, got undressed in the room, what, maybe 10-15 minutes?? I noticed the receptionist was giving a tour of the rest of the facility to other guests, which I didn't have I imagine because I was late. Still, if I had been given the tour, how long would my massage have been? Maybe 35 minutes? Maybe 40 at the very most? I guess I had been spoiled by having massages that are at least an hour The facility is nice. There is steam room, a Jacuzzi, showers, waiting area where one can read. Maybe I'm expecting too much. There were quite a few customers coming and going. I didn't really see or hear them taking advantage of the rest of the facility. Nice massage, just short. The spa is basically an oversized bathroom. There's no lounge area really. Just a waiting room. I read the reviews and went anyway. The reviews were not wrong. Go if you have money to throw away. Massage and Facial. Excellent practitioners. Service itself was great. Attendants are lovely people (one lady refers to all guests as "beautiful," really sweet) checked often to see if anyone needed anything. Therapists were excellent. Place is immaculate. Technically, the place has all the spa amenities - steam, indoor hot tub, nice showers with everything needed to clean up, lockers, tea/coffee and snacks of apples, almonds and dried fruit. Nap room that is quiet. Slippers and a robe. Hair dryer, mousse, hairspray, even brushes and combs to borrow. Modern look, grey and subtle gold, nice light wood. But to me it is almost void of a vibe. If I were staying on property, it's a lovely building to go to for a treatment or two, but that's it. It seems to have no intention of inviting you to hang out; just get treatments, clean up and move on. And really, that may be their goal, no judgement... As another Yelper says, "Quite a few customers coming and going... I didn't really see or hear [other guests] taking advantage of the rest of the facility." The changing room was very busy, lots of us close together changing and accessing lockers. As someone else said, "The showers were nice big walk-in showers which I liked because I could shower and lotion up and hang my stuff inside the shower to change without leaving." One aspect that just doesn't flow is the layout. The waiting room is long and skinny and bright, just a room of long couches with throw pillows. Nice facing the water feature outside. I hung out in there between treatments, but felt like I was just in a pretty waiting room. Didn't feel like a Sanctuary to me. It is different to have to walk through outdoor hallways in thick robes to get to treatment rooms, really notice the heat during the hot summer. It appears there is no comfortable outdoor spa space to hang out in if the weather was nice - no tables or chairs inside the "grounds" of the spa, only passageways. I'm guessing because on all sides there are treatment rooms, so people talking would be too disruptive. So no place outdoors to chill out in your spa robe. Nothing pretty to look at in nature even tho at the base of Camelback. I expected more inclusion of the surrounding beauty as some other resorts nearby do. The only pool is the resort pool, so you have to leave the spa and walk up to it, then return back through spa "front door" check in area. No real food is allowed anywhere in the spa. Again, if staying there, doesn't matter - just get your treatments and leave and eat somewhere else on the property. If you really want food, they will deliver to the "bamboo" patio outside the front door of the spa, by the gift shop (sounded miserable in 105 degrees). Or they said you can go to the resort main pool and order food from there. I didn't want to change into real clothing, even a bathing suit, just to eat. I thought they would offer ... spa food! Like a lovely light menu available. Nope. I wasn't in a public-hangout mood, I wanted a spa retreat experience. Did not really get it. OK so first I must say that I am shocked that Sanctuary has such poor reviews. My sister and I went here on a spa weekend and had such an amazing experience! The one thing I will agree on is that spa guests should have full access to the pool for the day being that together we spent over $1000 on our services. However, that being said our services were top-of-the-line. We started out the day with a work-out then we each had a salt stone massage. Mine was from Jeanne and I must say it was the best that I've had. She listened to my needs, and expertly needed out every single knot, she is absolutely amazing! My sister had whom I believe is Sharon and she had the same feedback about her massage. Later in the day, after a great lunch and perfect cocktails, we each got a facial. My aesthetician, Michelle took great care in ensuring that she knew all of my sensitivities, problem areas, etc. we left feeling like 1 million bucks and I can't recommend sanctuary spa now! Landscaping is spectacular, ambiance, everything. The servers, spa attendants, everything... we had an amazing time!! To those complaining about including gratuity? I don't understand. Firstly, it would have to be a completely terrible experience for me not to give a decent gratuity and even then I would feel bad not doing so, they would have to be horrific. Came here for a little staycation with my boyfriend and we got massages. A little disappointed that we didn't get to do couple massages but either way it was a great experience. Before we started, she asked what spots I wanted to focus on and she did a great job with the massage and it was a very relaxing experience! Would definitely recommend! read more

**PARADISE SPA IN PARADISE VALLEY** I did plenty of research for a beautiful spa setting. As many of you are aware, spa treatments in general are not cheap; especially so in the Scottsdale area. On average, expect to pay $150+ for an hour's worth of services. I chose the 60 minute Swedish massage here ($150). Entering the lobby area, I was soothed by the sounds of water and the zen-like ambiance. The ladies who checked me in were friendly and delightful. The spa itself was not very spacious. However, the shower stalls were nice huge. The amenities were plentiful. Included: razors, combs, BB shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, etc. I didn't like the wait area because I couldn't see the zen garden. The doors were frosted. Raisins, cranberries, almonds, tea, and coffee are provided in the wait area. I requested to sit in the zen garden with the Liebling and the staff was accommodating. My massage therapist was punctual and we had a good conversation while he attacked my neck and shoulder knots. AHHHH, much better. Thank you. RECOMMEND. read more

Had the best Himalayan hot stone massage here. My boyfriend booked me a massage here for my birthday. The spa area was so relaxing. The main area has a sauna, jacuzzi, quiet room, and a lounge area with delicious complimentary teas, water, and coffee. The place was spotless and well kept. My massage room was soooo relaxing. Quaint with a fire place and relaxing music. My masseuse was very kind and did an excellent job. Can't wait to go again! read more

This spa is beautiful, clean, great customer serviceand has all the amenities to help you feel rested and in a sanctuary place. They have an outdoor infinite swimming pool with a beautiful view of the mountains, but it's a few steps from the spa. And in the hot weather it can be a problem for some but for my friends and I we loved it. If we had more time I think I can fall asleep there. The customer service was great there too! Very attentive. The indoor amenities includes hot tub, steam room, and quiet room. The quiet room is worth mentioning bc let me tell you it the best. Its a room with curve beds with twilight's mood ceiling and there's a blanket to help you feel cozy and comfortable. I fell asleep in there for 20 minutes. My masseuse was great! I forget her name. But she gave me a massage that I needed. She loosen up all the knots on my shoulders. One thing I wish they did was have a cover between the floor and your face when you are lying on your stomach. Bc breathing in the floor does not smell good. Especially when you come here to relax. The robe they provided feels so luxurious. If you come here plan on a full day of relaxation and make your money's worth. read more

Sanctuary reflects exactly what it is a sanctuary. A quite room, a steam sauna, Japanese bath styled jacuzzi, showers and serene pools. A Clean facility with a locker room for changing, private bathrooms and a self-styling bar. Men and women are kept separate, private pods for massages in a cave like grounds. I have experienced the Sanctuary many times each one of my massage therapists were great, each one practicing a different technique. No pics because there is a no cellphone rule which I love! It is serene, tranquil, a staycation, a vacation, a place to escape for a few hours or the entire day. Restart, reset at the Sanctuary. read more

My mom splurged on taking me and my sister to Sanctuary for lunch and a massage for my birthday. We had a nice... albeit quite expensive meal ($70 for 3 salads...) and we spent about $670 for 3 massages. After the massage, we went to lounge by the pool, where I ordered a $16 cocktail. Needless to say, I was shocked when the server approached us and asked for our room number. Then, she proceeded to tell me that we were prohibited from using the hotel's pool since we were not guests there ("only" spa guests!). We needed to leave right away. Seriously! We were informed that a golf cart could take us to a "satellite pool" if we wanted. No kidding... the satellite pool was super small and dirty...not a single person there... no shade... no food/bev service... and no bathroom facilities. What a joke. We were all beside ourselves that we could spend hundreds of dollars and not even be able to relax by the resort pool for an hour or so. We all live right around the corner from Sanctuary. Let me tell you that Royal Palms is a MUCH better experience!!!! Next best is Montelucia. Sanctuary is now a "no return" for us. How can they treat customers that way? read more

Oh but how I love a spa day. Is there anything better? I've been lucky to be able to go to many of the high end spa/resorts here and this is up there. The inside of the spa is absolutely gorgeous, tranquil and calming. Stocked with plenty of products for hair, body care, and so forth, you can leave here looking fabulous. The waiting area has hot tea, coffee, waters, healthy snacks, magazines and so forth. In between treatments it is a great place to relax. I also enjoyed the steam room after my treatments because I didn't want to leave the spa area. My facial was one of the best I have received. I particularly loved the hot stones places along my spine. I added on the paraffin treatment to hands/feet and it really softened them up. My aesthetician paid close attention to my eczema and offered up extra care for my current eczema spots on my face (fun fun). The facial was relaxing and above pampering and best of all my skin looked amazing after (and still today). After my treatments I headed to the pool, which unfortunately is undergoing construction at the moment and was annoying, but I was warned. After putting in headphones, it wasn't an issue at all. Half the pool area is closed off, but eh... The wait staff were extremely courteous, prompt, and friendly as always. This serene spa and resort is one of my favorite properties and the sunset is not to be missed. I can't wait for my next spa visit! read more
