First time ever going shopping for a Christmas tree and this place was just amazing. The guys there were SUPER friendly and the selection of trees to pick from went on for daysssss! Only bad thing was the weather, it was raining and it got muddy, but that's not their fault. The prices are also very reasonable. I think it's 6something for each foot. We paid 62 dollars for our tree. They also shake the tree for 3 dollars (to get off all the loose needles) and net the tree for 3 dollars. TERRIBLE experience!!! Only because the owners son is a complete jerk! The owner (old guy) was super nice super helpful. I wanted trees for my property and 2 Christmas trees. The owner said no problem pick what you want. A kid was helping us and very helpful as my 3 little girls picked out 3 potted trees. As the kid was helping carry them this arrogant irate guy starts yelling at the kid that he wasn't supposed to take treess from that section. After he ripped the kid a new one I walked up to him and said it's Not the kids fault and I didn't know but the owner said pick what you want. This guy went off on me and proceeded to be a complete A@@ to me and said those trees cost me "$25 and are not ready. I never said I wouldn't pay and my girls didn't know they where off limits. I said why don't you rope then off or put a sign not avaible? I told my girls to pick new ones as they started to cry but "Daddy I like this one". I told the guy I never said I would pay what you wanted as he continued to rant as spit was flying out of his mouth. I ended up telling him he was an jerk and out of no where some lady gets in my face and starts yelling at me making a HUGE scean. She was yelling and in my face so much a bystander grabbed her arm and pulled he away as I walked away. By this time I'm done. I took both Chritmas trees off my trailer and we left. I have NEVER met such an angry,rude, degrading boss in my life. I was trying to stick up for the kid because I was told to pick what I want and my girls picked Trees the wrong area that wasn't marked. It was a TERRIBLE experience for my kids, family and was completely embarrassing. I called this morning before I posted this to see if I could e mail and share my experience but the last said they don't have one so I briefly told her my experience and she offered no way for me to send it and no apology so I said "ok I'll just post the reviews and go to Redlands. Nice convenient place to buy Christmas trees. We usually go to Live Oak Christmas Tree Farm in Yucaipa but decided to give this place a try. We were pleasantly surprised, lots of acreage and you can cut down your own tree. Prices are reasonable and they had a snack bar, bathrooms, and jumpers. Parking is ok but can be busy. Also fill out the postcard and they will mail you a coupon for next year. read more

First off the smell of thousands of pines trees was beyond awesome when pulling into the drive way. The staff there where super helpful and handy. It was a blast cutting down our own tree and hand picking it amongst the thousands there. Highly recommend it! read more

My 70 year old parents reserved a tree in November, came back to cut it down in December and they gave their tree to someone else. Wouldn't allow them to choose another comparable tree, only offered to give them a Charlie Brown crappy tree or their money back, with no apology. Way to bully and take advantage of senior citizens! Like Vincent, my family's tree was also taken. I called a few days before my pick up date to make sure that there wouldn't be any problems with the flocking due to rain in the forcast. I was assured everything would be fine. I was supposed to pick up my tree Friday morning. On Thursday evening I was informed that my tree would not be ready until Friday evening. No problem. I understand that the flocking probably wouldn't be dry because of the weather. On Friday morning I received a call explaining that my tree was taken. I was also told that they can't watch every person. This seems to be a trend. I attempted to find another tree in the picked through reservation lot, but they were all garbage. Got my money back. Loved this place! A bit of a drive from Lake Elsinore but we hope to make this an annual tradition! I am looking forward to coming during the day next time so it's easier to see. However, at night it's well lit and very easy to get your tree down. You get a saw and a cart for your tree, find your tree, cut it down and go! They will shake and wrap the tree for you as well as drill a hole. You can also purchase a stand for the tree. I believe there are other amenities, however we came 30 minutes before closing on a very cold night. If you put your name an address on their post card, they will send you a coupon for next year. This place was the second year we've been here , and they told us the best trees are to get the day after Thanksgiving in there reservation area , and we spent alot of money and time to search for a perfect tree . The time we came to pick it up it was cut down and there explanation was they can't watch everyone who cuts down trees .. not they weren't very apologetic and gave me my money and sent me on my way ... not coming here again !!!:( read more

AMAZING!!! This place is just incredible! This was our first year going here and the experience of sawing off your own tree is priceless. It's a tradition in our family to go and choose a tree on December 1st, and now we will start a new one by going out to Sand Haven. The prices are great too. We paid 65 for an 11 ft with the shaking, netting and taxes:-). Also, they tie it up for you ( no additional fee) and they have free popcorn and coffee. They also have music, food, jumper and Santa for the kids, but unfortunately we arrived at about 3 and it took us about 2 hours to find our tree (according to my sister it HAD to be tall, fluffy and straight From all ends), so it was already cold and dark. This place us just amazing and FYI bits now December 27, and still green with that great pine smell:-) Oh! The service is INCREDiBLE!!! My first time to Sand Haven took the whole family and could not have had a better experience. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. The owner, Jim (about 80yrs old), and Chewy (his faithful dog), are amazing. We have a new family tradition! Tree selection was amazing especially since we had such a dry year. Been going here for 10+ years. The trees are great and reasonably priced. We get monster trees, and they always have a great selection! The experience and atmosphere is always lovely. Why go to a tree lot in a parking lot when you can go to an actual farm and have it freshly cut! It's a rarity in So Cal and something we look forward to every year! read more

I'm extremely disappointed in this place. They had so many people recommend them but their customer service is awful. I brought my tree home last night, found out I was allergic to it, called today to ask if I can return it and get my money back as I can't keep it in the house and the wife of the owner said no. Under no circumstances do they do returns. I'm a single mom, that tree cost me $50 and I can't afford another one. It's Christmas time for crying out loud. Does no one have a heart?? Maybe it's just about the money for them. But that was an expensive tree that I barely could pay for. But I'm so disappointed, will never be back. read more

This place is amazing. My daughter wanted to pick out her own little tree but we were having trouble figuring out if we we allowed to cut down one of the super tiny ones. The Sand Haven Pines is the best. They donate a large, live Christmas tree to the Woodcrest Library each year. This beautiful tree goes a long way in setting the holiday spirit in the branch. The tree plays a large part in the holidays at Woodcrest Library, children make ornaments to hang from it in a craft program, Santa sits next to it during our Cookies with Santa event and the King High School choir sings and dances around it during their yearly visit. All in all it is a wonderful addition to the library each December and it makes the library smell great. Thanks Sand Haven Pines! read more

We go here every year since I was 9 years old. I'm 35 now and take my kids. The experience is awesome either having the kids cut the tree down with adult assistance of course! Or pick a tree that is potted and you can keep forever once you plant! Staff very helpful and I believe this is a family business because the love and happiness here is so awesome! Went to Sand Haven Pines lot for the 10th year in a row. This year's tree selection was so poor and crappy. Could not believe it. Have not had problems before, but this year was the pits. We will go elsewhere this year for a tree. We look forward every year as a family to go there but this year they will not get our money for the tree netting and shaking. One of my favorite places in the world. Nothing funner then getting to search for a christmas tree and cut it down yourself (or they will cut it for you). The staff is so great!!
