As to the person that left a comment about one of the bartenders being drunk, let me just say that I have frequently visited the island and this establishment. I have had personal interactions with all the bartenders and have never once thought they are drunk. I have also never seen them drink on the clock or behind the bar. 4th of July weekend is one of the busiest weekends for the island. Your servers and bartenders are the ones funding your fun;) treat them with respect. Sand Trap captures the island vibe. It is open air, surrouned by Adirondak chairs and picnic tables, so no matter where you sit you have a good view of putting green and giant Connect Four game for kids. Friendly and attentive staff. Seems to be the "it" place on the island. read more

Here on July 4th, guy bartenders were friendly but the drunk girl in short black shorts was rude when we asked a simple question. She asked if we'd left our common sense at a locker by the ferry. She is not helping your business and shouldn't be drunk serving customers. read more
