I find that people who love their jobs are usually great at what they do, and that was certainly the case with Dean. He's a fun, knowledgeable, and friendly guy, and his enthusiasm was contagious. He took me and a friend on a boat tour of several Lake Erie islands, including the one that is the southernmost point of Canada. It wasn't just a boat ride, though. Dean filled us in on ecological information and the history of the various islands, which includes pirates and the mob, among other things. He also knew where to go to spot pelicans and other beautiful birds. Dean made this a tour to remember.

The bicycle seats are a bit uncomfortable; however he is removing them and putting in comfortable swivel seats after this season ends in October. I would like to come back next spring or fall to see the different seasons.

Our tickets were for 11:00am departure and we pulled away from the dock at 11:01am. Arrival was as promised at 11:25. Great friendly crew. That said, the prices are a bit expensive but it's a fast ride. We did not pre book our return trip as we were unsure of when we would want to come back. There is a significant savings if you do this. We foolishly opted to do 2 separate tickets for flexibility, later learning that we could exchange a pre purchased return ticket for a later boat provided there was room. We should have done that- so know that going in if you are unsure of your return time. It'll save about $10-12 per adult ticket. I believe a normal adult is around $33 and this brings the return down to around $22-23 each. Other than that, it's a boat. Safe operation, no frills, bathrooms are that of a necessity but not unclean if needed. Enjoy the ride!

He always loved rivers and lakes, so we searched ChatGPT and found J&M Cruise Lines. The online booking process was simple and we reserved our preferred departure time with ease. Although the weather was cool and drizzly, the directions guided us straight to the boat. Captain Jim met us on time and welcomed us with professionalism and warmth. It was thrilling to see how much the downtown riverfront has changed since we moved away in the late 1980s. The tour exceeded all our expectations and made us forget the less-than-ideal weather. We have one suggestion. It would help if J&M Cruise Lines provided dedicated parking for guests. Our tour began before the nearby garage opened for public parking and this made it difficult for those in our group with limited mobility to find close spots. Other than that, the experience was wonderful and Captain Jim is both an excellent captain and a knowledgeable guide. On our next visit to town, we will definitely book another cruise with J&M Cruise Lines. They are a real asset to Toledo tourism.

The boat was in the water, but the dock gate was locked. No staff ever showed up to open it, and despite calling multiple times, no one answered the phone. Everyone stood waiting until it became clear we were not going to be able to board. There was no email, call, or sign posted to explain what was happening. We are flying out tomorrow, so rescheduling isn't possible. We paid $180.15 for this cruise, and not only missed the experience we were looking forward to, but also wasted our time on what should have been a special evening. Very disappointing and unprofessional. I am requesting a full refund and hope J&M Cruise Lines improves their communication and reliability.

As you're approaching, it looks as if the boat is going to hit the bridge. Makes for a bit of a thrill. From reading other reviews on here, it appears they do historical tours.
