There is a lot of great reviews but the one's that I have read that staff can be rude is true. The girl on the phone was not polite and came off as if I was stupid and wasting her time for calling. For something that is a fun and a great experience, should be followed through from when you walk in and until the end. This is horrible for the person that owns the business as we are all in business to make money and continue to have customers coming back and gain new business. read more

SUPER FUN! Played Dead Wood Mansion, zombies..... So fun, put on some oculus head gear a bunch of sensors for your arms and legs and your whole crew can play and interact in the same space! The staff was really informative about the differences in each of the games and which were more prone to getting people motion sick. Dead Wood was their most popular game which i can see why, lots of action, I'm planning to do it again with my coworkers! Tips: Arrive on time or early actually as they can't wait for all your people to arrive, there are time slots and they can't push back the next group because you can't get it together. So you'll have to play without the people who are late or reschedule the whole thing. BE ON TIME! No if's and's or but's! Wear shoes, and clothing you can move around in. It's very physical and lots of moving around, i was kinda sweaty after. The gear weighs about 20-25 pounds, which is not much but just know you'll be wearing a back pack and head gear. Think of a nickname before hand. They'll ask you to pick a nickname, not that it matters but maybe cooler if you come up with one before hand instead of on the fly. This VR game is so fun! I can see in 5-10 years from now this will be in everyones home like an X-box or Playstation. Kinda like "Ready Player One" read more

A worthwhile group experience! Highly recommend to plan ahead and make a reservation, thanks to a fellow Elite for coordinating our outing. I was talked into the Deadwood Mansion experience by the staff and fellow group members and it was a fun experience. The first portion is getting checked in and garbed up. Keep in mind that there's quite a lot of gear that's needed for the VR experience, so dress in light layers with closed toed shoes. During the experience, it was definitely emersive and very realistic. My voice was hoarse afterwards from yelling my lungs out after each attack by the vombies. It did get quite hot and I was a sweaty mess afterwards, which may explain why my eye piece smelled like BO when I first put it on. Regardless, I would totally do it again! read more

This review is meant to be constructive for the owner, from one business owner to the next. I took my wife and 2 kids for second time today, we did the Star Trek. Paid $200 The employees did not properly greet us, just a quick hey. Did not look like they wanted to be there, just sitting down eating or on their phones. For the money paid for our 20-25 minute experience, the value definitely does not support the cost. This should be closer to $30 per person in my opinion. During the experience, the equipment is very faulty. I mentioned my headset wasn't working a few times but nothing was done so I dealt with it. Halfway through, all of our batteries malfunctioned so we had to stop so they could change them out. This should be checked prior to starting. It was very slow, rainy day, so batteries should have been charged without disrupting our experience. If your going to charge $50 a head, there needs to be more value given. You leave feeling like you got ripped off which isn't a good feeling. It all starts with the employees. Need better greeters, upbeat and excited about what your about to experience. When the employees found out it's our second time, they pretty much just threw us in the room and said listen to the tutorials and left the room. There's was no checking on us to make sure everything works before they left the room. The equipment is beat up and could be maintained better. I will say our first visit was a little better than this one, but I don't think we will be too eager to come back. I do hope the owner sees this and makes changes. I do want to see this business succeed but there needs to be proper management in place, someone who cares about customer experience. read more

Pretty disappointed with our experience here, which sucks because I would have been happy had everything went as planned. First we had to wait about 45 minutes after our reservation time because they were "backed up"... not too big of an issue but what really sucked is that our guns kept not working while playing and we had to stop the game every 5 minutes to have them reset the equipment which took away from gameplay. After we finished the employee asked me what we thought.... I let them know we were disappointed because the equipment kept not working and we had to stop so many times... no accommodations for longer gameplay or anything were offered. Wouldn't have been such a big deal if I didn't have to pay almost $200 for 3 people. However, there is a video included with that price. Just wished it worked better. read more

Great, unique experience. I had no expectations going into this but really enjoyed it. At first I felt a bit overwhelmed and claustrophobic after putting on all the gear but after playing for a bit, I got really into it and had a lot of fun. We played The Curse of Davy Jones theme. Steven was very friendly, patient and professional. The check-in process was quick and simple. You get to watch a recap video after, which is emailed to you without charge. 4 stars because we had some technical issues. In the beginning my boyfriend and I were not able to hear each other in our headphones, but the staff did a good job troubleshooting that. Also, towards the end of our game, the audio was glitching and cutting in and out. Overall though, a wonderful experience, but $40 per person is a bit pricey for what it is given all the technical issues. read more

I'll start with my son enjoyed his experience. The customer service was terrible, no one is around to talk to or get assistance from, people are all over the place with no idea what to do when they get there. I reserved my reservation for (1/25 at 4pm) a week in advance (1/18) so I didn't have any issues but that didn't happen. When I arrived with my party the manager on the shift told me I was a no call no show for my appointment time which was 10:30 am on his schedule. So these ppl tell me the only time they have available is 9:35pm!! I was so heated. In the end they did pay for the session and gave me a free voucher to come back at any time. They really need to get some organization in that place and a real manager on site. The experience to do the actual VR was awful. read more

Took a chance that this would be a fun Saturday activity and I was very impressed. First, the staff was professional, prompt and helpful. We checked in and immediately started getting geared up. We put sensors on our wrists and ankles and then headed into the game room to finish our gear up! The game master was very helpful and explained how things would work and helped us get our backpacks, headsets and headphones situated. We choose the Deadwood Mansion experience which for a small child I would recommend that it might be a tad too scary for. Once the game started we had about 25 minutes of play and it was so so fun. I was screaming and laughing. Ducking, shooting and of course dying. I am not very good at video games nor do I play them a ton and I had a lot of fun. I highly recommend! Suggestion from a local// since this is inside the Mission valley mall you can go get a beer/food at Yard House just a few doors down toward the movie theaters before or after. Yard house has a huge menu and has something for everyone. Parking// You will want to Park close to Target either above ground or in the underground/under garage. read more

Took my family here today; bragging about how much fun I had the first time coming here and playing the "Davey Jones" VR room. When I first came here, it was so cool that I was excited to bring my family this time. Unfortunately this time was just so bad that I just have to leave a review for 2 main reasons. 1st reason: My mic wasn't working for the longest time, they tried multiple things to fix it. After about 30 mins (into our game time) the guy just tells me I'm going to have to yell. - I get the technical issues arise sometimes, and so I'm not that upset that the mic didn't work, I'm upset that the technical issue taking 30 mins into the game effected how we got to play the game. Because of the technical issues taking so long, they didn't let us finish the game we paid for! Which brings me to my 2nd reason! 2nd reason: They did not let us finish the game nor did we get any compensation for our lost of time due to THEIR TECHNICAL ISSUES! - I feel like this was just unacceptable. We paid $50 a person to play a whole game, we even showed up on time for our scheduled event, but because their equipment wasn't working, we don't get any money back or the chance to finish the game at a later point? I've played this VR room before, and to be honest it felt sped up but I thought I was just imagining it. After watching the ending video, I realized that it was skipping some parts and that we didn't even get to fight the final boss and our host wasn't gonna say anything until I asked about it! I'm just annoyed that we paid so much to have my mic not work (asking me to yell the entire game), and to not even finish the game and still pay full price for it! Honestly, if you're thinking of visiting, just save your money, it's not worth the hassle just to get scammed into playing half a game. read more

We have already used some of it and loved the experience. Scary as hell but awesome. Unfortunately, in order for this to be enjoyable, the equipment has to be up to par. My gun was lagging the whole time, my bestie, who is the best gamer out of all of us, scored 1/3 the points we did because his gun was even worse. I asked for a discount for him because the calibration on his equipment was faulty and he did not enjoy the game at all. The best they could offer was 10% off the next time we come. I have a hard time believing this company doesn't have a better refund policy for when their equipment fails. I considered giving two stars because at least our host was pleasant and entertaining, but as I write this I'm asking my homie to Venmo $40 for a crap time for Christmas. Naw fam. As an uncoordinated human, I managed to hold my own at Deadwood Mansion among a group of avid video game players. I'd wholly recommend this activity to anyone at any level looking for a fun activity to do with friends. Beyond shooting zombies that come at you are unpredictable challenges that elevate the experience (I won't disclose any spoilers hehe). During the initial 15 minute training, we were given a brief introduction of the experience and were brought to our activity room to put on our equipment, which include a vr headset, headphones, ankle and wrist sensors, guns, and a vest. The equipment felt pretty heavy, so be ready to sweat because you'll be moving around a lot with all that weight! The actual gaming experience was around 25 minutes. I'm giving this place 4 stars because it was a bit frustrating when the headset and headphones glitched out, especially at high-stake moments when an influx of zombies swarmed us. Also, the actual experience felt kind of short and left us wanting more. Regardless, I had a really fun time and would love to do it again! read more

Very disappointed with my recent visit. Been here on multiple occasions so I decided to bring my girlfriend and my roommate and his girlfriend to celebrate o ur anniversary here. The experience was night and day. The first time we went, everything went so smoothly and the employees made our experience so memorable. The most recent time we went.. the person that helped us looked like they didn't even want to be there. It was our anniversary and we wanted to show the girls a good time but this was so disappointing.. our headset or audio was barely working so we could barely hear anything. The headset stopped working and we asked to pause the game to fix it and the employee tried to fix it for barely a minute and gave up. My girlfriend played with no sound for the last 10 minutes.. I probably won't be returning or recommending this place to anyone for awhile until things change read more

For my daughter's birthday we were looking for a group experience. After researching VR on Yelp I found this place and thought the number of 5 star reviews couldnt be true. But they were. Checked in quickly, friendly staff. Let the kids do one game while the hubby and I simultaneously did another. The staff was kind to the kids, and they were off and running before we were. For VR newbies like myself, you wear a vest, headset and eye mask thingie. (I'm sure there is a better name but it escapes me) its helpful to have a low ponytail if you have long hair. I had a high ponytail walking in and had to remove it. You wear devices on your feet and wrists, and carry 1 or two weapons. As a self described klutz, when they offered the 2nd weapon to the leader, I immediately became a follower. We did Davie Jones Locker and had an absolute blast. We wanted to go back for a 2nd game but they were all booked up. We definitely want to go back, and so do the kids. It can be pricey for a family on a budget at $36 per person, but every penny is worth it if it means getting to spend positive time with your surly teens. Mine even talked to me after the game about strategy for next time. read more

Wow this was a fun experience! I wasn't expecting to be as caught up as I was in the virtual reality experience, but I was 99% sure I was actually inside a mansion full of zombies lol. It felt SO real and I love the "missions" they give you to give you some goals while you're playing. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, they explained everything we needed to know but I appreciated that they didn't tell too much about the game beforehand so everything was a total surprise. This experience was also a great way to see how well you can work as a team. There are no rules as to who has what role in the game (at least not in the zombie one) so you all can choose what position you're taking or come up with your own plan of action. I'm not a gamer by any means, but I absolutely loved this! My friends and I are planning to go back and play all of the games they have! read more

SERIOUSLY!! SO MUCH FUN!!! Looked this place randomly and figured what the hell why not...it was an experience!! We did the Star Trek game and it blew my mind. From gearing up to playing the actual game, there was so much joy in this. You feel like such a bad ass. The staff here are so friendly and very informative throughout the entire process. I can only imagine how much fun they must have watching people play virtual reality games cause from the outside in, it just looks like people running around an empty room. This was so worth it and it's pretty affordable. What a age we live in! Our first experience was great, but the second experience was HORRIBLE. The first time went smoothly and there were no issues with just the two of us for Dead Wood. It was a great time. Smooth graphics, fun shooting experience and a lot of scares. 2nd time we tried Amber Sky..... it was 3 of us and it SUCKED. The game was paused 5 times. From the very beginning there were glitches. 1 of our uns stopped working, then 1 of our headsets stopped working, then the graphics kept lagging. It was just bad. No refund. No extra time. No replay. Nothing. Waste of money. Next time if glitches start happening, I'd recommend asking to play another game because the experience is $43 per person for 1hr. I wouldn't want to waste it on a bad game. read more
