BEWARE!! They sound friendly & supportive @ FIRST but that's just to get you in the door. They told me they could get me right in & on the road & it took them 5 hours to get it in, then quoted me OVER double the other shops. THEN they charged me $144 just for looking at it. They are CRIMINALS & manipulate their way into peoples wallets. 0 Stars!!! read more

We really like working with Aaron. He makes it easy for our non car understanding brains. He takes good care of us every time. We have a 20 year old car that we recently bought and it was a bit of a lemon.They have given us choices for repair services and helped us plan out a repair plan based on what needs to be done now and what can wait so we can afford it. Our truck broke down on a Sunday 20 miles outside of Albert Lea. We were able to get it to Sanderson's parking lot, but had to continue traveling, so we left it there hoping we'd found a place that would be able to help us. I was able to reach Aaron at Sandersons the next day, who was very gracious. He called me back with a diagnosis and offered several options for us to consider. We were headed for vacation and couldn't come pick up our vehicle right away, so they also hung on to it until we were able to make the drive to come get it. Our repair was a big one and none of it was fun, but I'm truly appreciative for the excellent communication, kindness, and service we received from a business that we'd had no prior knowledge of. I love this auto repair shop. Always willing to listen to your needs and take care of your car like it is there own. More than helpful. I moved from out of State and established a relationship with them right away. I feel as if I've known these guy's for years. Awesome, reasonable and go way beyond what they should...... I love the fact I can trust them and always feel like they treat me with respect. It's hard to find a great mechanic, but I truly found mine. A complete rip off joint. They recommend services not needed at all. Older ladies please watch out...they will tell you that you need all kinds of work that is not needed and don't bat an eye while ripping you off blindly. Very unethical business....stay away. read more

This place literally defines the phrase "highway robbery." They charged over THREE TIMES the price for parts compared to other shops. The alternator part they replaced can be found online anywhere from $70 - $120, yet the charged over $300 for it. They knew they had us where they wanted us, as we were several hundred miles away and our vehicle had been towed to their facility by AAA because they are AAA approved. When asked about the exorbitant prices, the response was one that essentially rag out, "We've got you where we want you." They knew it'd cost us as much to have it towed to a more reputable, fair place as it would to have them do the repair. The vehicle was on their property. We were pretty much screwed by them. read more

My ancient little class C RV was towed in off I-90 by AAA due to transmission woes. My service guy at Sanderson's was extremely helpful. He assured me first thing in the morning not to worry that it might not be as bad as I feared. After struggling to sleep in the motel all night, I was comforted enough to get some rest until check out. They offered me a shuttle ride, but I decided to walk since its not a large town and the weather was good for it. Just before lunch, they put fluid in and after lunch they tested it and it was good. Then they went looking for the leak. They found a leak and attempted to find a seal, but the seal was not a common one. In the interest of getting me back on the road quickly, they taught me how to check my fluid and how to fill it and gave me advice for next steps. They also replaced some missing bolts and fixed a bracket that held the transmission dipstick in place and was broken. The charges were extremely reasonable and they were polite and explained everything and discussed every option. It took pretty much all day, but they were very busy as they are a highly regarded shop and they couldn't just take me in first thing and bump their scheduled clients. However, I always felt they cared and that they did the best they could do for me. I took the day off from work, but I was the only one in the waiting room and could have done my work if needed. I was on the road and back on schedule by mid-afternoon. Thanks guys! I really appreciate all you did for me. This older lady felt very well assured and well taken care of. They definitely didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need and even suggested other ways I could make my vehicle live longer with less service work needed. Great folks! read more

Not to be trusted. I was given an estimate of over $900.00 for replacing 3 coils on the right side on my 2007 Rav4 (coils 1, 3 and 5.) I had the work done at another shop in town for a little over $400. After confronting them at Sanderson with this obvious overcharge I learned that the mechanic had originally written down that the number #2 coil was bad. Why then did they give me an estimate for replacing all 3 on the wrong side? Could it be that it was because the #1 coil according to them could only be accessed by taking off the manifold? (an extra $265 charge) Something is really, really wrong here. The mechanic who did the work for a reasonable price did not have to take the manifold off at all. And had I been given the right information from Sanderson in the first place I would have saved even more money not replacing coils 1, 3 and 5. I spoke to owner Mark Sanderson about this. He said "You need to find a technician you can trust." then hung up on me. read more

Ask for price before getting any work done. Was charged over $200 for an oil change and to have the antifreeze ready for winter. They did a flush and fill which I didn't ask for. Will not be back. read more

Hello there, I'm Aaron Bjorklund. I joined the team at Sanderson Auto Repair in 2017. I began my career in the automotive world in 1991 when I joined the US Army Reserve as a Heavy Wheel Vehicle Mechanic. I have experience with many areas of the automotive industry including parts, manufacturing, design, performance, service, and repair. I'm a currently A.S.E. Certified in 23 areas including Master Auto and Heavy Truck Technician. It is my honor to continue guiding Sanderson Auto Repair down the road of high level customer service and repair! Absolutely amazing service. I was 80 miles from home when my car broke down on I35. I had it towed to Sanderson, knowing nothing about them at all. I was completely amazed at the service and level of care I received there from the time my car was dropped off until I was able to pick it up. John was so helpful, explaining everything to me and making the experience so much easier than it might have been. Staff is very friendly, eager to help, and listened to my concerns and needs and helped me get only what I needed. Our van is AWD and I was just looking to replace 2 bad tires, they made a special phone call to let me know I may need to replace all 4 to make sure the sizes matched up, but they were happy to give me the measurements and it turns out I was ok just replacing 2 tires. My car broke down on the hwy late at night and had to be towed in. I was on my way to CO and needed to be there by a particular time. They looked at my vehicle first thing when the other repair shop said they were booked out (which as a stranded motorist by myself I really appreciated) they repaired it and got me on the road much quicker than I had anticipated and for a really reasonable price. My husband was driving to Alexandria, MN from Des Moines, IA when the wheelbearing started acting up. He pulled in to Sanderson at about 4:00 in the afternoon. They offered to loan him a vehicle and made hotel suggestions in the event they couldn't get his truck repaired. They found the part, stayed late and got him back on the road to home. When I called, Dan sent Allen's Tow Service to my location to collect my car. They jack up the repair costs from their estimates when the car is already in their shop so you have no choice but to pay their inflated prices. My twin and I made appointments for 8 am for our cars to be serviced. and they proceeded to take walk-ins ahead of him for the same service he was there for. I will not be back. read more
