New to town & was out running errands with the Hubby. Happened upon Triangle Wine Company. Lucky…read moreUS! Wine tasting going on up front with a knowledgable Employee!! Sweet woman who explained the Rosé I have been saying I wanted to try. (I'm a Cab Girl) Walked a few aisles & found a bar! Wow!! My husband chose a beer & had a small taste. Talked a bit with another Employee and was suggested a new one he has never had. He loved it. I chose a new Cab Sav. to try, bought a bottle to bring home. Great atmosphere! Nice to know you can buy a bottle in the store & pop it open in the bar area. They have outdoor seating!!! I did skim through the Cab Sav aisle & was pleased to see some of my fav's at a cheaper price than my local grocery store! Plus, a few I've never seen and plan to try. A must visit place for a wine run or to go take a "time out" with your spouse/loved one. Excited to have found them today. Cheers!!

They have a bar in the back with seating and private tables. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and able to point you in the right direction per your preference. It's an odd note to bring up, but I've got to mention that the locals at this location aren't all inviting to visitors. Just expect a different vibe than you expect in the Triangle, Southern Pines is a very country, small town place.

Workshop Tavern has quickly become one of those places I can't stop recommending. It's rare to find…read morea spot where the food, service, and atmosphere all hit the mark every single time, but they've managed to pull it off. The dishes are packed with flavor, clearly made with quality local ingredients, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the level of creativity coming out of the kitchen. The staff is consistently warm and attentive, making you feel like you've been coming there for years. They do take reservations, which is great for bigger groups (anything over six), and even when there's a wait, it moves fast. Never long enough to be a hassle. One of the things I love most is their daily special. The rotating menu keeps things interesting, and you can tell the chefs put real thought into crafting something unique each day! If you're searching for a place that blends comfort with standout, big‑city flavors and quality food, Workshop Tavern is the spot! Truly the best restaurant in the area!

This place is amazing! I happened to visit on Thursday, Nacho Night, and it did not disappoint…read more I had the Jamaican jerk pulled pork nachos, an IPA on draft, and a house margarita. Everything was absolutely delicious! Even though the place was packed, the service was friendly, efficient, and attentive. Visiting from Massachusetts, I expected the prices to be a little lower than what I'm used to, but they were even better than I anticipated. Definitely worth a visit--I can't wait to come back!

Hopping restaurant located on a posh residential street about a mile out of the village. The decor…read moreis eclectic (I dined under a large, colorful Dr. Seuss print) with fairly closely-spaced tables that keep the room buzzing. There's an upscale bar in the entry that had several seats open even when the tables were all full. I started with the crab hush puppies. What's not to like about fried dough after all, but I didn't really get much crab flavor out of them. The buttermilk and corn preparation came through more. The entree was a showstopper, though - grilled elk chops with a pomegranate glaze and country mashed potatoes. They were scrumptious, and the al dente vegetables cooked in with the potatoes gave them a nice toothsomeness. One of the best entrees I've had in quite some time. It's nice when a menu gives you a protein choice you don't see everywhere. Parking is fine, with a paved lot in front and spaces on either side of the adjacent street. Service was welcoming and efficient.

I'm a bit late in posting this but you know....life. About a month ago we celebrated my birthday…read morewith a dinner at Elliott's. There were 10 of us including my very young grandchildren. We were seated in a back room at a long table, one of three. This room was warm and lovely. One table was already occupied, the other filled up shortly before we finished. From start to finish, our dining experience was wonderful. We did not have to worry about our little ones disrupting other guests, as the other party had little ones too. Our server, Madeline, was absolutely perfect! She was attentive without being intrusive. She had a good sense of humor and guided out decisions for food when we asked. She served us promptly and with a smile and made us feel so welcomed. I wish I could remember what everyone else ordered but I do know that my Pork Schnitzel was incredible! Also huge so I had enough for another meal the next day. When I return I will order the same thing. My husband brought a birthday cake in for me and our server brought that out at the end of the meal with plates and forks for everyone. We forced her to take a piece for her break, which she goodnaturedly did. There is only one tiny tiny thing to mention: It did take a long while for the 5 year old's drink and food to arrive. Not anyone's fault, it was very very busy. But try to explain that to a 5 year old. Rolls were served but they were too spicy for her. Or maybe the butter was spicy? Maybe feed your little ones something beforehand if you go on a busy weekend night, as we did. Kudos to the kitchen for pleasing so many different tastes so much, and for management for hiring Madeline who is a great asset to your restaurant.
