We were recommended to Pinehurst Brewing Company. It's about 3-5 minutes away from the infamous Pinehurst Golf Course. The inside vibe has a modern industrial feel to it. It's has plenty of seating and by the time we left was packed with guests. Our service was fine. Ended up getting a flight of beer to be able to sample a few of their brews, the stout was the best one. Super smooth to the palate. Ended up getting a pizza which had a selection of their smoked meats on it, it didn't disappoint. Some portions of the crust were a little too hard as opposed to softer and chewy. Amazing service, first of all. I sat at the bar and I got four free beer samples even though I only asked for two. I'm not going to say who did, because I don't know if that's something the bar staff was even supposed to do. But i certainly did appreciate the gesture. The Pivoted Hazy IPA is the one of the best beers I've tried in years. Great flavor, not too heavy, well balanced, hint of citrus flavor. Not a lot of great things tend to come out of New England, but the IPAs are one! I also liked the lime wheel beer. Not too sweet, sour, or tart, just very well balanced and refreshing. If you want to go with a real West Coast IPA, the Thistle Brew will do the job. The piney notes and grapefruit flavors are quite pronounced. This wasn't necessarily my style, but I think it will please those who prefer the hoppier flavors. I scored a free sticker too. To be honest I was a little hesitant after reading some reviews but the food pics and menu were convincing so we decided to try anyway! I am so happy we did, because from the minute we walked in the vibe was comfortable and energetic in a friendly way! The service was excellent and genuine and the food was truly delicious! The hot honey pizza on cauliflower crust was outstanding as were the smoked wings with cheerwine bbq sauce! All food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing as well and the prices are super reasonable. All of their beers on draft are brewed there, the Kolsch was crisp and tasty! Visited Pinehurst for the weekend and decided to check out Pinehurst Brewing. Our main attraction was the outside patio (so we could bring our dog) and the menu looked great. Sadly, the outside patio has a very limited menu and you can't order to go from inside to take outside. Since we were already set on pizza & BBQ, we took our pup home and came back to eat inside. On a busy Saturday night, the wait was 45 minutes and it was packed! They had great live music which was a bonus. The food was good, not amazing. Went to pinehurst brewing company with some friends this past weekend and had a great experience. It is mostly known as a BBQ spot and it did not disappoint. We ordered wings and then did the pick 2 meats and 2 sides option. The place was packed and they had a live band that was performing. It was quite loud as the entire place was full of golfers that had just finished up. Only reason I am ranking this as 4 stars and not 5 is the service. We showed up around 6PM and were told it would be an hour wait. Then we didnt end up getting seated until 8PM. Pro-tip: If there is a long wait to get a spot inside, Id recommend just grabbing some drinks and getting food at the outdoor beer garden. Went there Friday night during rush-hour definitely a popular spot. Chose this local over other local breweries based on input from my son and he was right. Great atmosphere with the old brick building, and smoke stack, nice patio outside when the weather is warm, live music on at least Friday and Saturday nights in addition to good local beer and great food. We managed to get four seats at the bar with help from some regulars and the service was fast and courteous. Had to order the pulled pork on my first visit and it was good. Kathy had the brisket and it was even better. They offer a variety of sauces as usual for the barbecue and have a decent offering of salads and other entrées. Didn't try it on this visit but my son says the pizza is better than most pub pizza. He would mark it down as a 6.6 on the Portnoy scale. As for prices the beers are seven or eight dollars for a draft, specialty cocktails a little pricey at 16 bucks but based on reviews from Kathy they were good. As for the local beer 1895 Ale was good as was the West Coast IPA, the East Coast IPA with passionfruit was too fruity. Stopped by Pinehurst Brewing Company for dinner and luckily the 2 of us were able to snag seats at the bar, otherwise the wait was about 20-25 minutes at 7:30PM on a Monday. Not sure if they take reservations, but it would be a good idea if you have a larger group. Beer and barbecue is great combination so we were excited. I ordered a plate -- 7 oz total of meat, 2 sides and cornbread. I opted to split the meat and try both brisket and pulled pork. Hush puppies and coleslaw for sides, in addition to Shelly's cornbread. The pulled pork was pretty good but I was disappointed in the brisket. It had too much fat marbled throughout that it was chewy. The hush puppies were probably the best thing on the plate. I'm not sure who Shelly is, but she needs to revamp the cornbread recipe as it was so dry I could barely finish one bite. For drinks, I tried both the 1895 Lager and Pivoted IPA. I would get the Pivoted again, but the 1895 wasn't any better than your typical domestic draft lager. The atmosphere deserves 4 stars, the beer was a solid 3 stars, but the food was a disappointing 2 stars. Averaged out, I'll go with 3 stars for Pinehurst Brewing Company. read more

The Brewing Company was a steam plant building which features a 10-bbl microbrewery with an observation platform overlooking the brewhouse. They also have a beer garden and an all-seasons patio. The menu is all comfort food, or as I call bar food. Their beer selection is good, what I believe the IPA I chose had a high percent alcohol by volume. Family dinner last night was great. I see a decent amount of reviews that are less than 5 star on here but a lot of those appear to be based on less than perfect take-out experiences during Covid, which I cannot speak to. We chose to dine-in and it was amazing. I've been here before but it's been a while. Old mill turned into brewery + bbq = great vibes. Slight wait so we hit up their outdoor bar to grab one of their home brewed beers and wait in their outdoor seating area. Their New England IPA was tasty. Once seated, ordered the cheese curd/fried pickle/fried okra platter as an appetizer and all components were delicious. The jalapeño cheese sauce that comes with it packs a little spice. For mains, we ordered different plates. On Monday/Tuesday they have ribs on the menu and they were GREAT. Crispy and charred on the outside and tender and juicy beneath the surface. I had collared greens and hush puppies as my sides. My meal was 5/5. Around the table others has pulled pork which I have had before and enjoy a lot at Pinehurst. Two members in my family got the brisket which I tried and would give 4/5 if that had been my meal selection. I also tried someone's French fries which had garlic salt on that.... soooo good! My husband and I laughed when it was set down. It looked like a joke. My daughter had the kids grilled cheese. Typically a safe and delicious bet. Nope. It was dry. No butter was used on the bread. Today was Mother's Day. My husband and I chose to go to the Pinehurst Brewing Company for dinner. We were there a couple of months before and brought a friend. The food was great on that visit. I ordered the Brisket because we had it at our last visit and it melted in your mouth. Today we were served cold food. The brisket, onion rings, mac and Cheese and fries were all cold. I was given 4 slices of brisket that I asked to be heated up. It came back to me with 3. How I lost one is still not clear to me. I spoke to a manager and told him the issues with the food and how did I loose a piece of meat. He offered us to discount the meal & dessert. However, they brought us the bill said he took my plate off and we never got the dessert he promised us. This was my MOTHERS DAY what a horrible memory I will have of this Mother's day. I will never recommend this place. I am an extremely disappointed about the food, the service, and the fact they put out cold food. This was our first time here and the ambiance was really nice, plenty of TV's, plenty of food options as well. I was having a hard time deciding what I wanted to eat, but I ended up getting the Plate of Smoked Chicken, which came with a choice of two sides and cornbread - I got the french fries and slaw. Everything was super good and portions were really big - I could only ate half of the meal in one sitting! The chicken was super smoky and tender, the cornbread was nice and sweet, the fries were really good and crispy, the slaw also tasted fresh and crunchy, not soggy at all. Every employee we encountered was very nice and helpful, I even ended up buying a Pinehurst Brewing t-shirt as a gift for my dad.
