What an absolutely delightful experience! From beginning to end Sandhya provided one of the best cooking classes my husband and I have been to. The lesson is fully hands-on, and Sandhya uses her expertise to engage you in all senses - after you view the beautiful colors of the spices used, you are invited to smell, and even taste them. She carefully demonstrates the textures you should be looking for in each dish, and guides you to create some of the best food you will ever taste. After the class you are given a handout with notes to be able to successfully re-create the dishes you learned. Even more fun? You get to sample some of your hard work while you are there and take home the rest! Sandhya is patient, kind, and enjoyable to cook alongside of and chat with. This is a MUST-DO experience - excellent for a date night or afternoon and fun with a friend! *An added bonus - our son has a disorder where he has many foods he cannot eat - and several are naturally occurring in the dishes we chose. I received a private lesson with Sandhya for my birthday from my husband. It's probably one of the best birthday presents I've ever received. She is an excellent teacher. We learned how to make samosas with mint and coriander chutney, malai kofta and paneer from scratch. I learned so much about Indian cooking that I didn't know before, and I have gained so much more respect for these dishes than ever. Sandhya's teaching style and recipes are very easy and simple to follow, and I feel she really demystified the usage of Indian spices and cooking methods. Wow...Just Wow. Not only is Sandhya a fabulous cook but her teaching skills are phenomenal. I took my 3 daughters/ daughter-in-laws here for a Girls Night out. 2 of them had not tried Indian food...she converted them! Not only did we learn each dish but she taught us about each spice used, she had us taste at each step in the process and she taught us the proper Indian way to build the flavors.
