Happened to be our 28th wedding anniversary, and didn't have reservations, but were able to be seated immediately at the bar, with Brook(e)? as our bartender. First, the outdoor alley entrance is fun/non-assuming. Once in, the decor is moody and perfectly dark/speak-easy-ish, much like a private underground club. Very impressive. We had cocktails/wine and ordered the Wedge Salad and the Ceaser Salad. Both were amazing, but my husband stated that the Ceaser was the best he had ever had. My Wedge Salad had bountiful amounts of flavorful blue cheese and amazing bacon chunks that made this the best salad I had ever had. We then ordered the petite filet (Medium) and Brussel sprouts and put a chocolate cake on order "to go". Highly recommend all of the above. The chocolate cake is "go big or go home" for sure. It hardly fit in two combined to go boxes. It was chocolatey, not overly dense, and the frosting complimented it perfectly! We cannot give enough high praise to Brook for the recommendations and for just making it a super fun vibe. I would gladly book a flight from San Diego just to go to dinner again at this place! Thanks for the special night!

Now, they blew the service on this night. Totally missed being our salads...before the entrees were already coming to the table. Open way late for dinner...that's awesome.

We were greeted by friendly staff members and chose to sit on their comfortable couches. It's definitely got a friendly bar feel with chill/relaxing background music and a mix of bar seats, tables, and couches. The bartender was very quick and also gave us waters and menus. For drinks, we had their Old Fashioned with house bourbon and Belgian Saison. The Old Fashioned was a little bit too sweet and could have used more bitters and less sugar. The beer tasted great! Looking at their somewhat limited menu, they have standard burgers and fries, but they also took some of their most popular items at the Golden Palace Restaurant and continued to offer them as light appetizers and small entrees. We decided to try their Kimchi fries, which was freshly cooked in the kitchen and came out very warm. The fries were the large kind and cooked tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, which was how we like it. Layered over the fries were a hearty amount of Kimchi, cheese, and cilantro that created a really well-done mixed savory and salty flavor. I see a lot of potential as the owners continue to refine and develop their menu. They seem to have decent football gameday burger and beer specials to compliment the 2 large TVs they turn on in the bar area, which we may try next time!
