Great hotel overall, I would stay here again! This is a smaller resort which was nice, so it didn't feel crowded. Although if you want a chair at the pool or beach, get one early! The activities included were fun, I did the arts and crafts everyday. They also had several group fitness classes, and kids activities. Food overall was good. I would have liked a buffet option for lunch, instead of having to order lunch everyday. They had lots of options for different allergies, including gluten free which was nice. I was traveling solo and got creepy vibes from some of the wait staff, and unwanted attention. The room was a bit dated, but the bed was comfortable. I was on the third floor next to the atrium above the lobby, so it was noisy in my room. I had issues with the safe not working, grey water coming out of the faucets, and the key card not working. I had to request multiple times to get things fixed, and the safe was never fixed. The location is great, it's so close to walk into town and the boat docks. read more

I love Sandos! I've been here so many times, initially attending a friends wedding and loving it ever since to having my bachelorette here, my wedding, family gatherings and now bringing our new addition to the family for Thanksgiving. Our toddler loved it. He got smoothies every morning and got to swim in the pool everyday. We haven't been here since our wedding (3 years ago) and they've changed, for the better. I mean everything is the same but their food scene got better! Tortuga Bay has some raw sashimi, and their grilled salmon is huge and on point. The pizza and sushi lunch bar got better, like they have actually rolls and not just a standard California or Philadelphia roll. There are rolls that have raw tuna or salmon on top. So good too. Then the Italian place for dinner now has appetizers and charcuterie items in the middle. It really helps when it's busy and things take longer to come out. The food for the most part is pretty good. It's not premium like Garza but this isn't premium Garza and you don't pay that amount, so it's good for the price range. IMO this is the best affordable all inclusive with good food, and plenty of restaurants, no reservations require for dinner, fun nightly shows, and the cupcake coffee shop is the best still. Been to many other all inclusive in Cancun and none has a good coffee shop as Sandos. Seriously. Then having a black wrist band, you get premium liquor, which now they have "premium", which for vodka its Belvedere and Tito's. Which is better than the well liquor. Doesn't give you a bad headache. As for the rooms, still the same. I wish they would do some renovations on the older rooms, it would be nice. But it's not too bad now, just older rooms. Good size and AC works well. This summer, my husband and I took a 5 day vacation to Sandos Finisterra and it was our first time doing an all inclusive. I have to say, I loved it even more than cruising. What we loved: The coffee shop and bakery quickly became our daily ritual. I was all about the iced lattes and sweet treats, and it was such a great spot to sit, enjoy the view, and play board games together. There were so many food options. We loved the breakfast buffet, the Mexican spots for lunch, and the more romantic restaurants for dinner. It felt like we had something new to try every day. It never felt overcrowded. We didn't have to fight for beach chairs or wait forever for a table, which made everything feel relaxed and easy. There was food everywhere. Snacks, meals, drinks, you name it. We fully leaned in and ate to our hearts' content. Poolside drink service was constant, which did not go unappreciated. The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, which made a big difference throughout the trip. And the location was a huge win. Being able to walk right into town for a more touristy day was such a fun bonus. A few things to note: The drive from the airport was longer than I expected, about 45 minutes. When we arrived, there was definitely a push to attend a timeshare presentation. It was a little annoying, but also something we were prepared for. There were quite a few kids, but we went in the summer so that wasn't surprising. And my most important note... I wish there had been more guac on the menu. Older and smaller resort situated in the Pedregal neighborhood of Cabo and right next door to the ultra fancy Waldorf Astoria. A great walkable location into the marina and town. We just spent a week here and overall, my family had a great time. The resort is definitely older/dated, having been built in the 1970s, but has been kept up nicely over the years. We consistently saw repair work and cleaning being done throughout our stay. We initially had a junior suite in the main building, with a lovely ocean view and kitchenette, but the bathroom situation wasn't great. The toilet leaked and the bathtub/shower was very old and didn't have great drainage. After two nights in this room, we switched to a newer, but smaller casita on the other side of the resort with a newer bathroom. The three pools never seemed crowded and there were only like 400-550 guests at the resort while we were there. It was easy to find chairs and the beach was right there. The views of the marina and ocean are fabulous since the resort is built up in the cliffs. Food was very hit and miss. We loved the breakfast buffet and the cupcake cafe for coffee drinks and dessert, but the restaurants were all over the place. Emiliano's for Italian was the best and Agave for steak was the worst. All cuts of meat were just seriously overcooked, even when we requested medium or medium rare. We really wished there was a lunch buffet option instead of only eating by the pool or having to sit down for lunch. Overall, friendly, attentive staff, clean grounds and mostly mediocre food. read more

We stayed at Sandos Finisterra in Los Cabos from in early April 2026 for my nephew's wedding, expecting a memorable all-inclusive family celebration. The first two days were enjoyable, but what followed was a nightmare health emergency that destroyed the rest of our trip and left us with over $4,000 in medical bills. Management's inadequate response and refusal to fairly compensate us make this one of the worst resort experiences imaginable. Do not book here. On the 2nd morning of a mandated 4 day stay, after eating breakfast at the resort, I developed severe diarrhea that rapidly worsened. By late afternoon, I was so ill I had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. While at the hospital, my wife (a registered nurse with over 25 years of experience) became violently ill with vomiting and excessive diarrhea. We returned after midnight and were confined to our room, unable to eat, drink, or function normally for the remainder of our stay. We purchased fluids from the lobby store because we wouldn't touch anything from the resort. We missed the wedding and reception entirely--the entire reason for our trip. As healthcare professionals (I have infectious disease experience), we are confident this was foodborne illness from the resort's food or beverages. The timing (symptoms within 6-10 hours) matches common pathogens like Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Salmonella, etc. We are both healthy and active with no comorbidities, so this was not random. We sent a detailed letter to Desk Manager Oswaldo requesting a partial refund for the final two nights we couldn't enjoy and a refund of our $250 premium alcohol package (which we barely used). They responded with an apology plus a complimentary night and bar credit--which fell far short of addressing the ruined trip, medical costs, and missed family event. Further, in his response, he basically blamed us for our illness. As for a free night, we would never consider stepping foot on that property again as I don't want to be in the back of a Mexican ambulance with no air conditioning and in a Mexican Hospital ER. In our follow-up letter, we reiterated the facts, staff awareness (multiple employees saw my condition and assisted with paramedics), and requested a fair partial refund for the last two days plus half the premium package. No satisfactory resolution came. Oswald claim that none of the staff was made aware of the situation, which was comical as the resort staff called 911 and guided the paramedics to me. In our opinion, this resort's food made us seriously ill as we did not eat or drink anything off property. Further, they ruined a special family occasion, and their customer service failed to make it right. The property may look nice, but the risk to your health and the lack of accountability are unacceptable. Strongly advise everyone to stay far away from Sandos Finisterra. Choose a resort with better hygiene standards, reliable food safety, and genuine guest care. We will never return and regret every penny spent here. I've been coming to this hotel for over 10 years, and it continues to be one of my favorite spots in Cabo. It's perfect for families -- plenty for kids to do, great food throughout the property, and an incredible coffee shop overlooking the marina that I look forward to every morning. There are three pools to choose from, each with its own vibe, and the entire hotel is uniquely built into the mountainside, which makes every view feel special. The Whale Watcher Bar might just have the best view in all of Cabo -- a must-visit for sunset. Always a fantastic stay. read more

Sandos Finisterra was a fun All inclusive Resort. Some rooms are renovated most are not. Still have really really large rooms. The food is decent, breakfast (eggs) were cold most of the days, but was still really good options to choose from, and several restaurants to choose from for your dinner options. The nightlife at the resort was good for those that are singles and weddings (which was everyday) . The resort has a lot of entertainment. Lots of pools for each age group. Areas for family's, singles and so on. They have a really nice white party on Thursdays, with a dancing group and food. Will definitely return to the property or their sister property one day! If you fish the hotel is located right across the street and the mornings we had a boat going out we stopped by the coffee self serve at the hotel and 10 minute walk on the boat. The restaurants were all very good as was the free booze. The rooms and ocean view were great and everyone was friendly. We went two months ago to the Sandos Finasterra for a family trip to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary It is located in the heart of the Cabo San Lucas marina district The resort is one of the older resorts in the area with history and it's all inclusive Right from arriving we were greeted by friendly staff at check-in As it was my parents wedding anniversary they were able to get a room upgrade and got lots of perks because of the special occasion The on-site wedding coordinator Paulina was super helpful upon arriving and helping us out for organizing my parents vow renewal ceremony and I wanted to give her super kudos for it The ceremony went off without a hitch and it was beautifully done Our first night there we were able to enjoy the White Night party on the beach that evening There was music food and entertainment The resort is kept super clean and staff always said Ola or Buenos Dias to your everywhere you went The pools are nice....we ended up hanging out mostly at the quieter and heated pool near the resort given there were kids in our group The food and drinks are amazing I loved having a daily pina colada or the non-alcoholic version called a pinana The poolside sushi/pizza was a great spot for lunch meals there....we also got chips and guac from Agave...the poolside restaurant The breakfast buffet was so good and there was so much selection Dinner at the restaurants were great....Emilianos was my favourite which is the Italian restaurant ....Tortuga Beach and Don Diego's were also really good....they are the international and Mexican restaurant Agave was my least favourite but the food was okay The Cupcake Cafe which is the coffee/dessert spot was sooooo good and the server there Abel made the best hot drinks ...and yes the name Cupcake Cafe speaks for itself with its selection of cupcakes They had nightly entertainment at the plaza location on the resort, each with different themes They had little vendors that would come and sell different items....my hubby bought me a white opal ring for our anniversary given it was around the same time we went The only downside is that at the beach you cannot swim as it's a red flag beach due to the current It is spacious and great to walk on and you can see several marine wildlife in the waters from whales to dolphins if you keep your eyes peeled This was an amazing experience here for our family and I would so go back to this resort for a vacation read more

We went recently to Sandos Finesterra for seven days We were a party of 11 celebrating a vow renewal for my in-laws 50th anniversary We booked through Air Canada Vacations The hotel is located in the heart of Cabo San Lucas by the marina It is one of the older resorts in the area It is a five star resort We arrived on a Wednesday We arrived right on time in the afternoon for check-in The staff easily checked us in with no issues Everybody got their rooms near each other with the exception of my in-laws whom had a room upgrade for their anniversary The resort has four restaurants Emiliano's is the Italian restaurant Don Diego's is the Mexican restaurant and in the morning, they have a breakfast buffet Agave is near the pools and they are the grill They are open at lunch and serve lunchtime food....burgers, wraps, chips and guac, quesadillas, etc. Finally Tortuga Beach is an international restaurant by the beach They have during the day poolside wood fire pizza and sushi. The food on the resort overall was really good Tortuga Beach was my favorite followed by Emiliano's, Don Diego and then Agave The sushi and pizza were phenomenal The sushi was fresh and tasted good The best spot we enjoyed was The Cupcake Cafe They had of course....cupcakes but it also served hot drinks there....it was our favourite place to hang out for the evening...a special shout out to Abel for making our coffees.... The room was clean We had the junior suite It had a king and queen bed in it We got ocean view ....which had a great look of the pools, beach and ocean It was a cool view as we were able to send whales and dolphins from that view The beach is red flagged That means that unfortunately you cannot swim in the ocean, which meant that the beach was a majority of the time empty The pools closer to the hotel are heated The one closer to the beach is unfortunately not, which proved to be much more on the colder side There are several bars throughout the resort The best one is the Whale Watchers bar which is situated high up.....and is a great place to view the whales while enjoying a drink The staff throughout the resort are super friendly there They would always say Buenos Dias or Buenos Noches or Ola when you see them As far as them organizing the vow renewal that they organized for my in-laws anniversary, ...it was absolutely AMAZING!!!! They did such a great job and a shout out to Paulina....who helped organize this with my wife and sister in-law's in making this a perfect ceremony The resorts entertainment was great When we arrived it was a White Night party where everyone wore white They had a buffet dinner on the beach to which the food was great We were also there for Super Bowl and the party that they had was superb The food there was awesome having everything from bbq chicken, steak, and sausages to tacos, nachos, fries and corn dogs We saw the Latin, Vegas and Mexico shows at the plaza which were quite enjoyable My only negatives.... We visited the week after US Thanksgiving - I speculate some of my review is situational for that reason... Location 5 out of 5: so close to Marina and anything else you may want to do in Cabo SL. Beach/views 5 out of 5: sooo pretty, so clean. I could sit there all day. Service 4.5 out of 5: everyone is so friendly. Enrique at the pool is so fun! We had some hitches one night at dinner (waited 45 mins and still no one took our order so I went up and told them) and with check out. Food 3.5 out of 5: it was fine but nothing was memorable or excellent. Drinks 2 out of 5: the only drink that was reasonable enough to drink was a dirty monkey. The margs, pina coladas, etc were just loaded with sugar and other weird ingredients. I'd stick with the Mexican beer and wine. read more

This was a random pick since I was genuinely looking for something cheaper. It was my wife's birthday, and I had to get the all-inclusive. This place did not disappoint. The activities were great, and the folks who work here were all great hosts. This place is very fortunate to have them. The group can be random. You'll meet people you can click with and others who are snooty or look down on people. We saw a few, but their energy can't faze us because I was blessed to be here to enjoy the spoils of my hard work. We just came back from a five day trip here for our friend's wedding. It was my husband and I's first time in Cabo much less at a all inclusive resort. Pros- the grounds are very clean. Our room is very clean. Housekeeping is able to clean daily if needed. The staff was all very friendly and informative. I ended up getting my hair and make up done at the resort for my friends wedding and both of the ladies who helped me did a Phenomenal job. I wish I took down their names, but I didn't. The price is also were affordable. The gym was clean and had a good variety of equipment. We tried food at all of the restaurants. One night we even had the buffet at the main Don Diego restaurant. Don Diego's food for dinner is exceptional. The best Mexican food I had in Cabo. The breakfast buffet at Don Diego had a good variety. I love the omelette bar. As well as a Mexican coffee. I like how the hotel provided transportation if needed. Con's- Our room was right above the cupcake café. (The Cupcakes wear meh but the cookies and chocolate ganache is Delicious) And most nights if not every night there is a live performance not that far from it. The performance starts at around seven or eight and can go till midnight. We could hear the performance in our room. The sliding glass door to the balcony is not soundproof. Most nights it didn't matter, but the first night I had a headache, so it was pretty annoying. Mixed reviews for my friends on this, but, I feel like they're alcohol is not very strong. I drink way more in this trip than I ever drink at home and I never felt drunk or buzzed. But, many of my friends did get drunk after the wedding night. So, who knows. I was slightly disappointed with the lack of drink options, especially the non-alcoholic options. also, nowhere seems to have a drink menu. Which just seems odd to me. Overall I would recommend this resort but more for the 21plus crowd. read more

We stayed at Sandos because of a wedding over MDW. At first, upon arriving, the front of the hotel is beautiful and partly built into the side of a rocky cliff. Then get to the lobby, and it just appears sad. We thankfully didn't have to wait for our room for very long, which was good because sometimes it can take a while. We stayed in the Marina facing rooms, however it was probably one of the worst rooms I've stayed in an all inclusive. You have to take multiple elevators to get there and walk down 3 flights of stairs. Furniture is super outdated but it appears like that in almost every room at the resort. I heard it's one of the oldest hotels in Cabo, which it appears that way. They really need to remodel the rooms. All inclusive food is always pretty average which comes with the territory but this is probably top 2 of the worse resort food I have ever ate. The food is basically inedible. At breakfast they have pork/chicken with bones...only one breakfast place to eat at every morning and they serve basically the same foods everyday. Birds flying all over the place as well. Only 2 lunch places to choose from and the food is all fried. For dinner, 3 restaurants but only open on random days and closed on others. Food is also basically all fried and the Italian restaurant food is inedible! The Cupcake coffee place was the only thing keeping us alive. Service is also slow but that is also typical of all inclusive resorts. Going back to our room, it was on the second night that our toilet started to not flush. We called maintenance and the guy was not able to plunge it properly. Called two more guys to help him and over 2 hours later it finally worked again. My sink was also backed up and I couldn't use it the whole trip. The resort has terrible plumbing probably because of how old it is and some areas have a faint sewer smell. I wish they would have offered to move our room since we were in there the whole time while they were fixing our toilet and it smelled. At the adults only pool they only have one server and it was a mad rush to get food and drinks which took forever. The server was working her a** off though! Drinks were okay but their frozen drinks like pina colada and Miami vice were delicious. We ordered room service a total of 5 times. Only came to our room 2/5 times and we stayed up for hours waiting for our food. Called the operator for assistance and always told us it was on the way - it was not! The wedding venue was beautiful right on the beach for the ceremony, then to a rooftop with string lights for the reception. The wedding dinner was surf and turf which was much better than the regular resort food. We did really enjoy the spa. There are actual rock in the locker rooms which adds to the relaxing ambiance. Had a facial and a massage which were priced well and service was amazing! This is the 2nd Sandos resort in Mexico I have stayed and I will not be returning to another Sandos, frankly ever. read more

Overall beautiful place and grounds and it's right on the marina. We paid a little extra and were in the elite area that has been renovated. So the rooms were great with a jacuzzi tub as well. The food and drink were ok, pretty much expected from an all inclusive. One thing we didn't like is when you check in they really push the vacation club membership with a free taxi to the airport if you sit through a presentation. So that is the first thing when you arrive and experience. We didn't want it, and I wish they would just ask and be ok with a "no thank you" and let you get to your room. Once you get past that, great time. But overall, beautiful grounds, staff, beach. read more

We had the privilege of staying at the Sandos Finisterra resort at the beginning of June 2024. We celebrated our 50th anniversary. The room was a little rundown, but the staff was amazing. And the food was incredible. We had a view from our room of the ocean, which is incredible with the beautiful big waves. The first night was the white night that was a fun experience. The dancers were great and the fire dancing with lots of fun. Every morning we would go to breakfast at Emiliano's. It was absolutely our favorite breakfast. Asincion was are amazing Cook. Georgina and Yazmin we're absolutely our favorite servers. They even made us a special dessert our last day. Their customer service goes beyond, and the joy they would bring to us with their beautiful smiles. Every morning was so precious. We never decided to go visit any other other restaurants there was no need. Tell them we said hi if you go and visit them. Magda, sat at the front desk. I would love to walk through the lobby and see her beautiful face. She was always friendly and willing to help in anyway possible. She even began teaching me Spanish. It would be fun to use my words with her in the mornings. She became a great friend. If you want to meet incredibly friendly workers, enjoy the humongous waves, and incredible food. And the beauty that surrounds this resort, This is where you should go. We would highly recommend Finisterra to anyone. read more

Bottom line: Sandos Finisterra is a laid-back, scenic, and surprisingly convenient resort with real Cabo character. I would not suggest staying here if you like food everything we had was un edible it was really disappointing. I love to travel to try new foods. The only thing that we could bear to eat was the spaghetti at the Italian restaurant. I remember eating Grade school pizza and it was better than the pizza we had here we went into town and we had some incredible food there. second I will say the drinks were good and the staff was great. They do up charge you for any excursion go to the marina or make a friend and you'll get a better price. I got a private tour boat for 35 a person. Do Not take the snorkeling tour they offer you we saw no fish! third be careful eating here as well at this resort seven people out of our group got salmonella here and my last day I got food poisoning and I spent my entire plane ride home puking. never again... read more

This is a tough review. I wasn't sure if I should rate it a 3 or 4. As far as all inclusive a go, you'll find a pool, drinks, food, and room service easy to access. As far as Cabo goes, it's located very close to the marina, Ubers are a cheap ride anywhere in town, and it has great views. From an amenities standpoint there wasn't a ton. The gym was fine but nothing to write home about, the restaurants were so so(though a few good items at each spot), and the sales pitches for time shares or excursions were old. We had a great time overall but I think 3 days is more than enough. read more

Sandos Finisterra in Cabo - where do I even begin? We rolled up for our anniversary bash during Christmas, and indeed, it was LIT. Our room had a front-row seat to the marina vibes, like waking up to the ultimate view every day. The pools were right next to the beach, so we basically had a VIP pass to oceanfront chillin'. The Kiddo was Living her best life - pool shenanigans and café hangs, she was on cloud nine. The boat trips to El Arco was Pure fire cruising from the marina with epic views. SPA time was an amazing experience leaving us feeling reborn. The cuisines were a Buffet heaven with unlimited poolside drinks. I'd be honest to rate the food a 3/5 for the most part. Drinks the same. They do have visitor tiers, with the Black being the top, and has added privileges including a 24x7 bar and italian food access for breakfast and lunch. other spots like Don Diego Buffet and the other bars are open to all at all times. They do have restrictions on some pools based on membership tier, kids vs adults etc. Nightly shows from Christmas to New Year? They brought the party every single night. On one of the nights, the resort celebrated its founders day and had a beach dinner with a white dress code - felt like a scene from a rom-com, but with way better food. Sooo Sandos Finisterra was an enjoyable experience from beginning to end. We did not want to go home and I will be back to stay! The staff were per-usual when I travel to Mexico, all friendly and very helpful. I know picking a resort to stay at can be very overwhelming to newbies and sometimes us veterans so I will get right to the reviewing. Room = Very clean. I typically get the ocean view at resorts but I tried something different. We had a king bed marina view. We enjoyed looking out at the marina and the city at night. If you sit on the balcony (which was very small) you get to hear all the concerts, music, and fireworks. Once you close the balcony you cannot really hear the outside so no worries on getting sleep. The room had a nice size shower and the water was always hot! They did not have liquor in the rooms, I guess due to COVID but they had beers/sodas and 24hr room service. Overall, we were only in the room to sleep and were out most of the day lol so it met our expectations. Food = So so good. Our favorites based on the occasion: - Breakfast = Cupcake Café, their breakfast sandwiches were yummy paired with their coffee. We ate outside on the deck with the beautiful marina view. - Lunch = Agave Restaurant OR Pizzeria, their burgers hit the spot and the pizza was soo cheesy and soft to eat by the pool. - Dinner = Tortuga Beach, Shrimp gyoza / Oriental style Sea Bass / Ribeye with garlic butter / Sea and Land skewer (my favorite) Spa = The spa was so beautiful, built into the mountain with such a relaxing vibe. We did 80min Hot Stone massages that made us feel like new people and at peace. I truly recommend you try the spa and unwind before heading out for your day. Service = Like I said everyone was wonderful. I tend to interact with so many people so there are too many to mention. The front desk was always helpful with my questions and breaking my larger bills. Jorge was very helpful in the travel and activities center. We did whale watching that included drinks and food which was a GREAT time. The whales were wonderful to see up close but not too close lol. We did the camel rides as well that included food and tequila tasting. The only thing I will mention about the camel ride, we could not bring our phones to take pictures and the ones taken by the team were not good. However, we still very much enjoyed ourselves and are glad we did the ride. The activity staff were fun by the pool and the shows at night were fun. Again, so many people at the resort made our stay wonderful and I truly appreciate their care and attention. Location = We were able to walk the marina and downtown easily without any problems. A lot of beaches are not swimmable in Cabo so our beach was very empty which was awesome. The beach next to the marina where you can swim had many locals selling items which is understandable but after a while can become too much. So, the resort beach was nice to get away and soak up the sun in peace. If you are looking to be close to the party scene then this resort is not the right spot as you must walk (10min) or taxi downtown. Great resort! Hotel transportation was on time, clean & friendly driver. At chk in offered us mimosas/beer. Lobby was decorated pretty for Xmas. Rooms weren't ready when we got there b4 chk in time but they gave us wristbands to use resort amenities so bring clothes to change into to use the pools. Resort view & ocean view are in the main lobby building & closest to the pools and beach, w/resort view still facing the ocean but on 1st floor. Marina view has upgraded rooms, w/big walk in showers with waterfall showerhead. All rooms had balconies w/great views, all came with mini fridges filled w/free beer/soda, a water bottle dispenser. Room service was good, available 24 hrs & free. Entertainment/activities every day & night. Location is great, about 15-20 min walk to downtown. Can't swim in the ocean but it was beautiful just sitting there with loungers, hammocks, shade huts to relax at w/waiters coming by. Loved the swim up pool bar. We didn't use the other two pools, just stayed at the adult pool w/the bar but waiters are going everywhere to take your drink orders. I counted like 4 jacuzzi's, 5 if you include the hidden one in the marina view building. All friendly staff, no pushy sales people. Massage was wonderful by Malu, good priced for a hotel spa. Had a medical emergency & hotel helped promptly and got us an ambulance. Only complaint, desk agent called us for a noise complaint but we were sleeping, he was rude, not like all of the other staff who were wonderful. My niece was hit on by one staff member that really creeped her out. The food was pretty good, but we found stuff we liked, it's included so we knew it wouldn't be great. Breakfast buffet the best food there. The bed was comfortable, pillows were great. My safe didn't work but I lifted the door a certain way and I got it to work! Would come again! read more

My partner and I stayed here for 6 nights for the all-inclusive and had an overall good experience. I would recommend 4-5 nights at the resort since you can mostly do and see everything by the 4th day staying here. The hotel rooms and lobby itself were a bit outdated but the resort pools and restaurants were pretty nice. Highlights: - Overall food was 4/5 rating, there were solid items on the menu at Don Diego, Agave restaurant, Emiliano Italian, and the cupcake cafe. The coffee & Frappuccinos at the cupcake cafe were excellent, I went there every morning for coffee. They have a brick oven pizza at the pool where they make pizzas and also sushi on certain days. The pizza was really good! One of the downsides was that the two times we ordered room service (once for breakfast and the other for late night) both times took 2 hours for the food to arrive. - Bars/drinks were 3.5 rating. Since it was all-inclusive, the drinks aren't strong but you can ask for a double or get shots as well. The swim up bar at the adult pool was where we hung out the most. - Wednesday beach bbq - they host a white themed beach bbq on Wednesdays and had a fire show. This was fun and we really enjoyed having dinner on the beach. - Activities & entertainment - my favorite activity was the guacamole class and the nightly shows they put on were great. - Great resort location. Resort is on the beach, although the water is too rough to swim in. One side is the beach and the other side is the marina. We walked into town a couple of times or took very short ubers to the popular spots nearby. The staff all around the resort were friendly and very hardworking. We chose this spot since it was one of the best values for an all-inclusive resort, but if you're looking for a more modern place, then I'd recommend looking at other resort options nearby. However if you don't care too much about how nice the room is, Sandos is a pretty great all-inclusive resort. read more

We visited here with eight other friends to celebrate a milestone birthday. The check-in went very smoothly, and our room was very spacious and very clean with a great view of the beach. Although one of our friends had roaches in their room, and it took three days for the resort to move them to another room. They had roaches showing up each day, and for three days to do anything is way too long. We had great meals each day, and the nightly entertainment was pretty good. For an all-inclusive it wasn't too bad, but they should have bell boys pick up luggage on departure, was saw several family with kids and elderly people trying to lug their luggage back down to the lobby area. Also, the resort should consider adding a courtesy shuttle van for very local travel. That entrance incline is very ruff for older people or people with injuries. Overall, it was a fantastic visit, and everyone in our group had a great time. read more

We came to Cabo for a navy reunion and stayed here a week. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. We were in a junior suite and I thought the beds were so comfortable. Located about an hour's taxi ride from the airport, this is a solid choice for an all inclusive resort. The food is overall pretty good, the property is VERY clean, & for the most part service is gracious. The pools are lovely (there is an adults-only pool), the many jacuzzis are heated perfectly, and the shaded lounge chaises on the beach where servers will bring you snacks & drinks are so vacation-y feeling. (Just like all the beaches on this side of Cabo, the ocean is too rough to go in.) Since I don't drink alcohol, the availability of free flowing alcohol doesn't factor into my personal list of positives. If you do drink, you will appreciate the swim up bar, the servers that bring you drinks on the beach, and the multitude of drinking opportunities & bar areas that serve all day long. My top reason for coming back here is that I got to see BABY SEA TURTLES released! Strangely, the concierge was of *zero* help in learning about this opportunity, & the property didn't offer a paid turtle release experience like other hotels do. So it was entirely a fluke & due to our curiosity & lots of questions of the lifeguard & servers that we determined that anything turtle related was going on. There is a fenced-in area on the edge of the beach where hotel-contracted biologists have placed sea turtle eggs in separate nests, so they can develop in a protected area. They find the eggs on the beach in the mornings by spotting & following the turtle tracks left by the mamas when they come up the beach to spawn. The biologists note the spawn date, estimate the gestation period & label each clutch w/that info plus the species & approximate hatch date so they know when to check on them. In the wild, only about 1 in 1,000 turtles survive - so these biologists are doing a great service to combat future extinction. Hatchlings can take 3-7 days to dig themselves out of where the eggs are buried, so many die of dehydration or get eaten during their journey to the ocean. So the biologists dig them up after they hatch (using gloved hands) and bring the adorable babies close enough to the water to point them in the direction - but far enough away so that they have to still journey down the sand & into the ocean themselves. Even with the biologists' assistance, the babies really struggle - walking down the sand, getting flipped over by waves, half buried in wet sand, getting turned around, and sadly sometimes birds can even pick them off before they reach the water. It took the babies 40+ minutes to all get into the water! Their struggle IS real - but important for them to experience because they must learn to deal with the challenges. More importantly - this journey down the beach to the water will enable them to remember where they were born, so one day in the future they can return to the same beach to lay their own eggs. !!! It is more natural & safer for the turtles to be released at night, so the biologists randomly do large (like 100!) baby releases in the middle of the night. They only hold back a few for tourists to be able to see them in the mornings. I timed my mornings so that I could witness turtle releases 3 days in a row, & I learned a little more each time. One morning I saw the biologists return from gathering 81 newly spawned eggs and relocate them to within the fenced-in area. Amazinggggg!! Experiencing the egg relocation & turtle releases were the highlights of my trip. I learned so much about sea turtle behavior by asking the biologists questions. They were so patient, & so so sweet with the eggs & babies! They were also gentle yet quick to reprimand guests who tried to TOUCH the babies - aghhh, please DON'T BE THAT HUMAN. What a dream job these biologists have - to do this all day, every day. Also very cool was that we could see whales from our ocean view room's balcony, plus boats, the beach, the protected turtle nest enclosure, and all the pools. The other side of the property was a marina view - where you can see lots of huge yachts, boat activity, and the working dolphins at Cabo Adventures right across the street. (If you stand for animal rights, I recommend *not* choosing a marina view room for this reason.) The marina area is just across the street, so activities, scuba diving (Dive Cabo!), restaurants, shops, fish pedicures, and pharmacies are very easy to access. You can also see & hear the sea lions as they beg the incoming boats for fish! Because I can witness the turtle releases, I would definitely come back to stay here again. The biologists said that the turtles spawn all year round in this area! A random weirdness was that our private taxi to the resort cost $85usd but a similar private taxi back to the airport when we left cost $110usd. Shuttles cost considerably less as you are sharing with others, but it also takes a little longer because of their multiple pickups. read more

Where to start... We absolutely loved this resort and all the staff. Our room was a junior suite ocean view and the view was amazing! The room was huge, simple but nice. Convenient water dispenser inside. There's also a mini fridge in the room stocked with different beers, sodas and even Mexican chocolate. We weren't really sure what to expect going with c-19 going on but it was probably better than it would have been. We got to enjoy the whole resort without a crowd. They are only booking up to 40% capacity so the resort was not filled with people, great for social distancing and the service was great. They did their part with hand sanitizer everywhere, taking temps, along with a bunch of other things to keep things sanitary. Despite the cut in people they could allow to stay they didn't disappoint with shows, games and activities. They had stuff going on all day everyday. They have a few different places to eat and then if it's too late there's always room service. My kids loved the cupcake cafe. Nelson was always delightful and knew my kids order. Our whole experience there was amazing from the resort, the food, drinks and staff. A few of the staff members who took care of us consistently were Norma- pool side, Adrian- restaurant manager, Fernando-waiter, Valeria- restaurant host, Nikki- hotel manager, Israel- part of the activity crew went out if his way for things not even in his department but the rest were all amazing as well. Always smiling, always went out of their way to find whatever it was you asked for. Well worth the money, great location- close to the marina. I definitely will be coming back. The best part is they are not pushy about their time share. They ask if you want to do it and when we said no they didn't keep pestering. read more

They double charged for one of our rooms and we are still waiting for a credit, 8 days later. Rooms are gross! Very old and dirty! Black mold in the shower!! Smoke alarms have gone off and loud AC that keep us up at night and wake us up early in the morning. Fitness center, floors have holes in them!!! Very disappointed!!! My best friend and I did an all-inclusive - We stayed for about 6 days. We enjoyed our time here. We tried all the restaurants they had on site. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The one plus is the cafe with all the desserts and coffee. So delicious! We also got a chance to the do spa, which was really nice and amazing. This Hotel is located really close to downtown. The beds in the junior suites are horrible! Unless you like sleeping on a hard board, then these beds will keep you up all night. I got better sleep out on the pool deck chairs. I've never had hip and back pain from a mattress. This is my first all inclusive resort, and I don't recommend this particular resort if you are here for an extended period of time, one... the beds are horrible and I dread the remaining nights I have left. And two, the service at the restaurants are below any standards. I feel the staff sees what color wrist band you have (if it's blue they immediately drop down a tier on how they treat you), and adjust their service. They are friendly with the good mornings and good nights, but if you aren't throwing them tips on top of tips they give you bare minimum. Emiliano's - the Italian restaurant has very slow service. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table (tables are still set up covid style, spread out and not that many), and then it took them 30 minutes to bring us our appetizer and another 45 minutes for our next course, we got dessert to go in hopes it would speed up the process, it didn't. They also didn't give us any utensils to eat it, so it's sitting in our room fridge... to be tossed. Whale Watchers bar isn't much, the bartender again checks wrist band to see how to treat you, and walks away leaving you confused. When asking for a drink, they can only make margaritas, or your classic vodka soda. The pools are dirty, especially the adult pool with the swim-up bar. There were bugs throughout and mystery debris piling on the edges. I do not recommend fully submerging your body/face. The bartenders seem annoyed when you ask for a drink, even if you tip. Again, if it's not a premade margarita request or premade sugary frozen beverage, they seem put off by your request. Or if you ask questions to understand the choices they seem annoyed. It's just a major buzz kill to try and have a good time and they seem annoyed you're there. I heard so many good things about all inclusive resorts and this place makes me never want to do one again. It is definitely a resort for the older crowd. It's not rowdy or exciting and comes off as a ghost town. The people hired to entertain even seem bored, as it's like pulling teeth to get anyone to participate in the shenanigans they try to set up for us. When you check in they immediately try to get you to sign up for a tour - meaning, you eat breakfast with someone trying to sell you a timeshare/membership. Even if you let them know you are tired from traveling, they continue pressing the subject by offering "price cuts" on spa services, golf or boat rides. You just need to give up 3-4 hours of your vacation for a sales pitch and a disgruntled staff member if you decide not to purchase the package. Black wrist band is the only way to go to get the 5 star service this resort claims to have. We have blue, which is still a pretty penny I feel, but the lowest tier - it goes blue, gold, then black. read more

Well I got food poisoning here from the agave restaurant, it was the sea bass! Been to Mexico 6 times and this is a first for me. Have been eating basically bland since. Don't feel like I'm missing out on much anyhow cuz the food in general is bland. I only liked tortuga restaurant where I got the shrimp and filet mignon skewers. I asked for a late check out to accommodate the fact that I was stuck in my room throwing up all day for one of the days, they said they cannot accommodate it. Since it's off season the hotel is maybe 15 percent full so I'm really not sure what the problem is. Most of the restaurants are outside without air conditioning, so if it's 91 degrees like it was the week I was here, good luck to you. There's not much shade at the pool and though everyone raves about how amazing the staff was, I did not find that to be the case. The only best thing about this hotel is it's proximity to cannary beach which is a lovely beach where locals go approx 9 min walk from hotel. Will I ever come here again? Absolutely not. read more

I planned my best friend's bachelorette in Cabo, and I chose Sandos Finisterra as our accommodation because the price for the all-inclusive package for 8 people was pretty decent. We booked 3 adjacent Junior Suites (each room can fit up to 3 adults) with the ocean & pool view from our balconies. The suites were spacious but definitely could use some updating. We were greeted with champagne upon arriving at the hotel lobby. Main amenities: spa with sauna, pool with bar, its own access to the beach, restaurants of different cuisines, a buffet restaurant, various bars, gym, night shows, and a resort "nightclub." Drinks/cocktails: they were pretty watered down. I guess that's to be expected since it's all inclusive and the drinks are "unlimited" Food: all meals and snacks are included in the all-inclusive package. We tried all the restaurants at the resort including: Tortuga Beach (gourmet bistro), Emiliano's (Italian), Agave (international cuisine), Don Diego (international cuisine, Mexican for dinner), La Palapa Bar (pool bar), the pizzeria bar, and the cupcake cafe (breakfast - cupcakes, sandwiches, coffee/tea). Our favorite as a group was Tortuga Beach because 1) we were dining just steps away from the beach 2) the food tasted the best here and 3) service was excellent here, compared to the others. We enjoyed the Mexican food for dinner at Don Diego, too. The Italian food at Emiliano's was very disappointing (I even found & almost ate a small piece of toothpick that was in my ravioli entree), and service was slow. The pizzeria, Agave, and La Palapa were convenient for quick snacks if you're chilling by the pool. I loved the cupcake cafe for an easy breakfast in the morning to grab a coffee and pastries. Activities: We also booked massages (extra charge) at the on-site spa called "Spa Del Mar." Absolutely loved my massage!! They also offer daily night shows that you can attend free of charge. The 90s event was entertaining. Access to the beach just to walk around and take photos was a nice perk. We played volleyball in the pool. Location: walking distance (5 mins) to the marina if you're planning on going on a boat tour like we did. Short Uber/taxi ride to downtown. TLDR: not the nicest resort but I think the all-inclusive package was still a good value for the price we paid. Drinks were okay. Food was best at Tortuga Beach & Don Diego, if you had to pick a few to go to. Plenty of activities on-site and location was convenient. read more

My family and I had the pleasure to be served by Apolo at the pool bar the first day of our trip. He made a lasting impression to say the least. He never once made us feel like a burden, and was so patient, friendly, and lively throughout his whole shift. Each day we asked for him and even followed him to another bar he was at.
