Four of us met at this landmark breakfast spot in downtown Dunedin. The inside was very charming with lots of churches for sale. We got here at 10:00 & took an outdoor table. The breakfast menu was very appealing with quesadillas, breakfast bowls, omelettes, oatmeal, waffles, avocado, toast, eggs, Benedict, and breakfast sandwiches. There was plenty of outdoor seating and a few tables inside. It definitely has the small town, locally owned restaurant. Cute little decore, staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ordered the Veggie 3-Egg Omelette and a Belgian Waffle. The omelette was good, lots of veggies, and the home potatoes were crispy. The Belgian Waffle was delicious! The butter is whipped and super soft, maybe with some added sugar but soooo good. Had wanted to try this place for a long time. It is a one and done for me. Had the Italian sandwich. For the price, not worth it. Just some ham salami cheese and oddly roast beef on white toast. But they fancied it up with that lettuce that reminds me of weeds. Our lunch was way overpriced for what we got. read more

This place was fine. Everyone raves about how they roast their coffee here, but it wasn't for me. I had an iced coffee, so maybe that was a mistake to truly taste it. I had a veggie sandwich and it came with a side chips, which was just lays in a bag. Service was a bit slow, maybe it was more difficult since we were outside. We were looking for a quick breakfast - glad we stopped in! This is a local Spot - the owner greeted us and we were seated really fast. They have bowls,quesadillas and omelets - you really can't go wrong! I had the veggie bowl - tons of potatoes and sauteed spinach. The pico was delish and so was the guacamole. I also couldn't pass up an order of Cuban toast. There's tons of seating on their patio and there are some tables inside as well. It has a small cafe type feel - really down home. While waiting for our car to get an oil change down the street we stopped in to Sand Piper for a relaxing breakfast. This is one of our favorite breakfast spots in downtown Dunedin. I had the BMT Quesadilla. It is a full breakfast with eggs, bacon, mushrooms and more, delicious. My wife had the Eggs Benedict with breakfast potatoes, also great. We will continue to dine here when downtown in the morning. read more

This place was okay, but there are definitely some things that could be improved. For one, the portions seem a bit small for how high the prices are. The veggie bowl was $13.50 and it's only a small bowl of food. A medium sized Belgian waffle is $11, and a small handful of blueberries on top is an extra $2. Seems like a lot for a relatively small waffle.. Secondly, the service is a bit slow. It seems like there was only one or two people serving food on a busy day. Finally, no vegan options. I know it's not the biggest market, but it's nice when there's at least one or two options. read more

Dry toast! Not the food because we didn't get a chance to try it, but the staff, particularly the guy in charge that day. Just careless and zero hospitality. Came in on a Sunday morning to have lunch with my family after house shopping in the area. My group included a 9 month baby in a stroller and a small puppy. I understand I need to get a table outside because of the dog, which is what we wanted anyways. The guy in charge simply didn't want to help us. They have an entire shaded area outside that they kept closed up. The other tables outside were taken except one without an umbrella directly in the sun (it was hot). He said you can sit there or wait a long time then he just turned around and left. By the way, they also have a shaded outdoor balcony with tables available but he said that is considered "inside" for purposes of the dog. Bad hospitality for such an charming town. The restaurant looked cozy from outside that is why we chose it. This truly left us with a bad taste. We love Dunedin so hopefully other places in town are more welcoming and accommodating to families in town. read more

Well I agree it is a charming cute little place, I differ from most of these reviews. First I really need to take names when you arrive so there's no confusion as to who came first because it's first come first serve. Second, it took us 45 minutes to get our food. We are not large people and I just ordered oatmeal and a latte. My husband got a veggie omelette and potatoes with iced tea. And yet we waited 45 minutes. The waiter was very kind and attentive. However he did not alert us that there was an additional charge for refills on iced tea. They are not large portions. They are not small portions. It's just enough for a small to medium size person and you will not have any leftovers. For what little food we got the bill came to $44 and that's without the tip. I'm giving it two stars because the waiter did a good job with the exception of not alerting us on the extra charges for refills on the tea and the atmosphere which is adorable. I'm glad we gave it a try because we know we won't go back there again. If you're visiting I would suggest, Tula's in Tarpon Springs. The food is amazing. The service is top-notch. And you will most likely have leftovers. It's right on the bike trail so very quaint. read more

Super cute tiny little coffee/breakfast stop in downtown Dunedin. It was a freezing cold morning when we stopped in so I would complain that the restaurant was cold BUT I know we aren't equipped for that here in Florida so it probably wasn't the restaurants fault. I got a caramel latte to drink which was big and beautiful and warm. For food I got eggs benedict. It was served fresh and the portion size was pretty big. My eggs were cooked pretty well and there was plenty of sauce for the dish. My nephew got a waffle which I ended up trying because he wasn't feeling it, but I thought it was really delicious. And it comes with fresh fruit, which is always a bonus in my book. read more

First the important stuff....us puppers are welcome on the patio. Dog bowls are available and get this, sit....they have 2 items on the menu for us dogs. You can get a scrambled egg or sausage patty Ok for the humans this is a great breakfast place. There is seating inside, on their front porch and tables on the side patio. Service is great and so is the food, based on how often my pop eats here. Sometimes he even gets a mimosa and then I get to drive the golf cart, just kidding on the golf cart driving. Its a cute little house tirned into a breakfast restaurant. There is a pario with lots of outside tables and a few inside table that im sure are appreciated in the hot summer. Inside has all kinds of decorative sruff for sale for your home. Almost like a mini cracker barrel. Food was brought out quickly and tasted great. I had a beef on weck which is a buffalo new york staple. Wife had the cuban toast with eggs and sausage. All the food was delicious. They have beer and wine but no liquor. Their bakery items looked great. We tried a raspberry/white chocolate scone and it was moist and delicious. Dropped by here for breakfast. The patio on the side is perfect for a nice breakfast or lunch. Coffee was brought promptly with water. And the coffee is good. Nothing makes me more crazy than a breakfast place with bad coffee. We ordered eggs Benny and the house skillet. The hollandaise on the eggs Benny was citrusy. Loved it. My only complaint was the tomato. I ordered it with no meat and it came with a slice of tomato between the muffin and the egg. It was cold. Should be grilled. Cold anything in a hot meal is a little off putting. Hubby initially looked at his bowl of food and like a 12 year old boy, turned his nose up. But after a couple of bites, he inhaled it. Said the sour cream all over the top turned him off but it was actually pretty good when you mix it all up. Service was prompt, our coffee cup never empty. The wait: For the two of us, it took over a half hour from ordering to receive our food which at a breakfast restaurant I feel like is a long time but feels way longer with a hungry toddler. After the waitress stopped by twice saying our food was almost ready, I went inside to at least ask to get our cup of fruit. There's only so much time Ms Rachel will buy you. I've been stopping here for years with my kids when we bike ride in Dunedin, but today I felt as if our presence at this restaurant was huge inconvenience to the staff. We got a very negative vibe from them, had to wait for a table and when we jumped on a table that opened up, we were reprimanded for sitting down before they were able to clean it. Service was slow and had to ask for items that were listed as coming with the kids meal (chips.) they also did not give us lunch menus, only breakfast, which was weird. We received a recommendation from the hotel we were staying at to try the Sandpiper Cafe. What a pleasant experience! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile! Our server, Alyssa, was pleasant and our orders came out quick and perfect! The coffee, which the beans are roasted on premises, was one of the best tasting coffees we have had. Stopped in on my last visit to Dunedin. Just off the trail and right in the middle of the brewery area. The inside is a little small as it looks like a house front the outside. However they have a larger outdoor area for seating. Coffee was good enough to come back for a second and tried the Cuban version of a breakfast sandwhich. Quaint little breakfast restaurant in the heart of Downtown Dunedin that is a showstopper when it comes to breakfast. It's locally owned & operated, so it feels great to buy local while enjoying an array of menu items along with pastries & coffee. My go -to is their Nutella Latte, the House Skillet & the oatmeal among others. The only recommendation I can give is that they install fans outside. The restaurant is small & the outside is spacious but brutal in Florida summer. Parking is somewhat trivial but manageable, there's a free lot within walking distance. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE. I don't know how many times we walked RIGHT past this little unassuming bungalow-style brunchery, but Yelp is the real MVP because that's exactly how we ended up checking it out. It was a scorcher last Sunday, so as soon as I sat down I inquired about iced coffee. They have syrups, so I opted for caramel. Out came the largest iced coffee ever and it was SO smooth. Honestly, I don't think it needed the caramel flavor. I'd come here just for that dang coffee. I especially like that they roast in house and have quality coffee but aren't pretentious about it or charging an arm and a leg. I am a SERIOUS breakfast sandwich lover. Is there anything better in this world than an egg, cheese and sausage croissant??? Not in my opinion! And luckily, they have that and a whole lot more. While they have indoor seating, we brought our doggo and sat in the very cool backyard space that is like a hidden oasis shaded by trees. Our server was very friendly and handled my husband's allergies with care. We ordered the aforementioned sandwich, a fruit cup that ACTUALLY had good fruit (no fillers like honeydew, yuk), and an omelette with breakfast potatoes. Very unpleasant experience. No host stand so we had to wander around looking for a waitress to get seated. Then the food took forever. Maybe 30 mins+ for food to come out, with nobody checking on us. We had to specifically ask for coffee refills. We asked for a waffle to be served after our entrees so we had something sweet, and the waitress brought it out 15 mins before the rest of the food. Very strange. To top it all off, the food wasn't even very good. My omelette was fine but the potatoes were all undercooked and very oily. You get one slice of toast, but it is one of those brands that cuts it super thin to save calories so your one slice is more close to a half slice. The breakfast bowl also came with 1 egg. Found the Sanpiper while looking for a place for a cup of coffee. What I got was much more! The service was really good and friendly, and the food and coffee was too. I had a simple egg and cheese croissant and an Americano. I will be back for more the next time I'm in the area. read more
