I think it's over price. 2. The house had no air conditioning Meaning no central or window air conditions. 3. The amenities are less than par. They only have apps on TV, get this you can't use them. You have to bring all your sheets, and covers. 4. The location is very tricky. If you follow the instructions on GPS, you will end up deep in the woods. You have to follow the instructions on the web page. And cause they lied saying this never happened before. 5. The Front steps are dangerous, if you miss the last step you can end up hurting yourself. 6. The landscape is poor, meaning they could have at least cut down the thorny bushes in front of the doors. This way it won't snag your clothes or skin. 7. The back deck and chairs were none usable. 8. The drill did not work. 9 The place was full of bugs. Lastly, we should expect more not less for our money. I truly believe these people don't care about what they are giving us.

Our family has stayed here many times over the years, but after this recent interaction, we won't be coming back. We booked a stay for next year, received a confirmation email, and had a deposit withdrawn from our account -- only to have the deposit refunded days later without any communication whatsoever. When I called to find out what happened, Julia told me there was a "website issue" and that we never should've been able to book because next year's rates haven't been set yet. This directly contradicted the confirmation email, which clearly stated our rate was locked in. When I asked if they could honor the confirmed rate -- a basic standard in most reputable businesses -- Julia became defensive and irate. She told me, verbatim, that if I thought she was a terrible business owner, I probably shouldn't stay there. She was rude, condescending, and completely dismissive. Julia may claim the business has "integrity" and a long history on the island, but it's clear the current management does not reflect those values. This place might have had a good reputation in the past, but it's absolutely not the same under her leadership. A hospitality business with no regard for basic courtesy or professionalism is one to steer clear of.

The house has so many convenient amenities, including bicycles and beach gear to use for your day's adventure. If you are looking to just chill in the beautifully landscaped yard and read, or enjoy a nice meal on the BBQ, this property is great for that too. The owner, Platt, and caretaker, Timothy, were both wonderful. The whole rental process is very well organized, not a detail is left out in house manual, and communication with a Platt and Tim is easy and prompt. My family and I had a lovely time staying in the West Wing and would definitely rent again and recommend to others. Maybe we'll try the East Wing next time in order to enjoy those great porches!

We found the Captain Morse house and I could not be more thankful! Our weekend was everything we'd thought it would be and more. This house extremely homey and comfortable! We never wanted to leave! There were great paths for our annual night walk (yes, we walk in winter ) we were in walking distance to some amazing coffee shops and diners, and the kids had a ball during our dance party with all the cousins, aunts, and uncles! Above all I have to say, the management was the best part! You can stay at a place that has everything you need and more, but if the people running it aren't accommodating or lack communication, you'd never want to go there again! This team went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and we were comfortable! They responded to a late night request as well which was very impressive! Safe to say.... The worst problem was that the AC was Not working. Oh my. But, we called Larysa at the office and she was so, so, so helpful. (She quickly dropped off a AC window unit for our bedroom) She must have called the AC repair guy a hundred times and he came over late that night to fix the AC. Larysa also left us a great greeting basket filled with coffee, pickles, snacks, bread, all kind of things. She took care of a couple of minor things that we needed and stayed in touch with us during the whole week. Bravo. We'll be back next year leasing a property from Seacoast.

Don't rent with Mart Vineyard Rentals and Real Estate!! I rented what was supposed to be a luxury…read more5 bedroom home. It had several problems. The first night of a 7 night stay, my daughter broke out in hives after sleeping in one of the bedrooms. We disinfected the room, sanitized the sheets and after the second night, we had to take her to urgent care the next morning. Needless to say, that room was off limits. On the third day raw sewage backed up into the only bathroom on the ground floor. The toilet and shower was overflowing with untreated feces and urine. When the septic repair person came, he indicated that the tank was not properly maintained and had not been serviced in more than 3 years! When we arrived, on day one, we contacted Lisa Silvia, our rental agent, to tell her the refrigerator ice maker and water dispenser was not working. Lisa's response to us was "the ice maker and water dispenser were not guaranteed to be operational" (excuse me- for over $20k per week, we expected a fully functional refrigerator for our luxury rental). The cabinets were full of the homeowners glasses and dish ware. The panty was locked. We had no place to store our week's worth of groceries. Someone had to be sent over to clear two shelves for our grocery storage... we had to move the grocery from the countertop to the dinning room table and back before and after cooking each meal. The gas grill didn't have propane...we had to get it filled and replace it. Please keep in mind this was listed as a luxury rental. During the sewer backup, we had to cancel our plans for the day and stay at the home to wait for the repair people to come. We wasted another day for a cleaning staff to come to clean and sanitize the only downstairs bathroom. My 90 year old father had to navigate the stairs to use the bathroom for two days!! Electric circuits were not working in one room. Sliding doors and blinds were not functional on the main floor. The garbage had been piled up for weeks in the outside storage bins... we couldn't fit our garbage in on the first night!! And the front door never locked!! It was a disaster!! The rental office was non-responsive. We actually managed the property during our vacation. We told Lisa we expected a refund of some sort. It has been a month and a half and we have not received our deposit and we're told we would not receive a refund. We may have to take legal action. Do not use MV Vacation rentals & Real Estate!! They are the worst!! If I were able to give negative stars, I would.

Additionally, we paid an additional fee to heat the pool which never seemed to creep up to the promised temperature. We were also met with a non-functioning ice maker, and most concerning, an outdoor shower with nails protruding from the floorboards. When we attempted to rectify these shortcomings, we were met by stonewalling by the owners and the management company. Needless to say, this property fell well short of the expectations for even a low-cost vacation rental, let alone for a $6,000 per night luxury home. To the extent you are looking for a comfortable high-end experience on Martha's Vineyard we would recommend you look elsewhere

Avoid this agency and Wendy Harman! I used them for a vacation rental. The place was not well…read moremaintained and they took over $500 from the security deposit for "extra cleaning" even though they charged $450 up front for cleaning. The house was over $12,000 to rent for around a week. Here is one of the pictures they cited as a big problem. They also said the oven was dirty. Do vacation renters usually clean the over? The agency is dishonest and they deal with dishonest owners.
