Cheese plate dessert, with local cheeses.

We love this restaurant and look forward to coming several times each summer. We went last night to celebrate 2 birthdays, and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere, food and service was just as wonderful as ever. We started with a drink and the AMAZING kimchi grilled oysters. We have tried to recreate the recipe, and we are close, but there's no substitute for this delicious preparation. Then we were brought to our table, which was a great location, on the porch. It's a prix fix menu, with everyone choosing a starter, main & dessert. I've posted the menu and courses, and you can be assured that everything was delicious. This is definitely destination dining on Martha's Vineyard. Make sure to reservations well in advance, come early to enjoy the view in the yard, and enjoy your meal!

One of my favorite meals, ever. At many points during the meal, my wife and I couldn't talk because all of our senses were focused on the food. Start by going early and sitting out on the lawn during the sunset. Have a glass of wine and enjoy their amazing oysters. I expected to love the fresh oysters, which I did. But, I was amazed by the Vineyard Chargrilled Oysters which were bathed in kimchi butter. OMG, was it great! The dinner quality was outstanding. I know that some people complain about the $97 price. Those are the people that don't appreciate a well-prepared meal. It is in the details. And this place gets the details just right. We started off with an amazing lobster dumpling in a lobster broth. My wife and I were in heaven. Dinner was seafood of course. Amazing. Don't miss going.

Quite pricey but very good dining experience I'll start with the shortcomings since they were our initial experiences. The host was curt and the bartender outright rude. Fortunately, we did not have to deal for any amount of time. One would think we shat on the host when we asked if we could have a drink at the bar upon arriving. Absolutely not. 'We have more guests coming in right when you're done eating'. Then she turns around and pushes us to the bar because she didn't have our table ready. I knew what was coming next. Ask the bartender about drinks. The female bartender was nice and trying to help when the male bartender stepped in and shut us down. Sure enough, one person in our group got a drink when the lovely host came back to shoo us towards our table. From there it was all uphill. Our server was delightful as were the other servers and support staff. Drinks seemed reasonably priced. The restaurant offers a prix fixe menu which we knew about when making our reservation. Our server pointed us to delicious choices of tuna tartare, fried green tomatoes, lamb, and the wagyu ribeye - a serving for two but offered as a single dish if desired. We had one person with a gluten intolerance and was served the 'rice crackers' mentioned in another review here; I agree that it's an odd choice for such a high end restaurant. I went for the scallops figuring it would be a smaller dish and I was not wrong. However, this was the smallest serving of scallops I've ever received: three. Yes, three scallops. When you consider a single person can order the 24 oz ribeye platter, you need to serve up more than three scallops. Expertly seared but the serving size was a disappointment. The restaurant and its surroundings are beautiful and picturesque. Adirondack chairs line the lawn with a large fire pit for wonderful sunsets over the hillside. Deer came out at dusk at the edge of trees as the ocean breeze cooled the air. Go for the fried green tomatoes, tuna tartare, lamb, duck or ribeye. The chocolate torte was delicious as was their take on bananas foster. Yes, it's pricey at $200/person (with drinks). The entire dining experience (again, after you get past the host and bartender) seems worth the cost.

Came here with parents. The bill for three of us was $650 including tip. The food was great. The waitress, Clara, was great. The hostess (Allie?) on 8/17/25 was a "cold fish" and couldn't be bothered to smile- gave off terrible energy and didn't greet us or make us feel welcome. she shouldn't be doing that job or was she just having a bad day? I overheard her arguing with the raw bar guy who asked her to bring a plate to a table. She complained as if she was above it. Now that I think about it maybe she's related to the owners and is somehow above feedback but she ruined the otherwise really good energy of the place. I know it's annoying when clients are demanding but when we spend this much on dinner it's really not too much to ask to return a smile. Yes the food was good. Place is beautiful. They just need to explain to some of the staff that fancy doesn't mean giving off an entitled, snobby, better-than-you vibe. Warm like the Aquinnah sunset is the preferred attitude. We had a very Nice time and it's worth the visit. Kimchi baked oysters are incredible. Thanks and please repurpose your terrible hostess: Booo for making us feel unwelcome. the waitress made up for it. Thanks Clara you were great and professional. Thanks chef team. Thanks to the owners for creating the place.

Egg sandwich Sunday review. We came up for egg sandwich Sunday with some friends and our daughter. It runs from 9-11am. We loved the food and the amazing relaxed environment. We all ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese with spinach and tomato. It came on a delicious biscuit. We each got the hash brown and some donuts and a cinnamon roll to share. This was such a delicious breakfast and the donuts were fresh, warm, and frankly the best I've ever had! Would come back again. Definitely 10/10!

The inn is breathtaking. Beautiful flowers and scenery. Lighthouse, sunset, and live deer off in the fields set the mood. Indoor/outdoor dining perfectly timed. Arrived early to sit in the field for cocktails. Seated at our exact time. Each dish was better than the next. I had the fried green tomatoes with lobster loved it and the pickle juice. Plenty of lobster. My lamb chops were seasoned well and perfectly cooked. Five chops total. Finger licking good. However, everyone loved the halibut in brown butter sauce. Prefix price. With tip and tax, cocktail and wine came to $200 per person. Well worth it. Service was 5 stars. We were slightly disappointed in the desserts. Prepared a little untraditional. Too much peanut in my chocolate. Oatcake dense. Tiramisu more bread like then lady fingers. But that's just me. Would I return? Yes, every time I come to the island.

We took our friends here for a lovely experience and a taste of the island. Our server Sam made the dinner even better! We had a ton of laughs with each delicious course and shut the place down. Thank you Outermost for one of the best experiences in a while. See you again soon.

This is not much food for the money. It is $92 for a three course dinner. Service is very good, but the food is adequate at best. I have been here several times over the past 20+ years and recently went again with my wife, parents and sister. This restaurant has a fixed menu. You choose from a few items available for appetizer, main course and dessert. The meal started out well, as the appetizers were all good. I ordered oysters raw on the half shell and the wife had grilled oysters. The raw oysters came with colored ice crystals and some liquids that no one bothered to explain. I ignored that pretentiousness and enjoyed the raw oysters. The wife's grilled oysters were also also excellent. The main courses fell short and contained the skimpiest possible portions. I have been to some lame "small plate" restaurants where they force you to pay $25 for an appetizer and try to starve you to death, but the outermost beats all those places in the effort to serve as little food as possible compared to the cost of a meal. Perhaps this is an active attempt to force portion control on Americans - laudable in some cases, but I don't need the help. I had striped bass that came with gnocchi that tasted like nothing at all. There was precious little fish and what there was needed salt. And, of course, this is one of those annoying restaurants that refuses to put salt and pepper on the table. As I have said repeatedly, a restaurant can get away with that if the food is very well seasoned. Otherwise, accept that people have a range of tastes and let them have salt. The wife had squid ink pasta with clams and chorizo. I tasted it and it was okay, but there was, again, very little food. It came with four tiny clams that she initially had trouble finding. The whole dish tasted like bland chorizo rather than having any variation. She had the poached peach dessert, which she describes as a pile of mush that did not taste fresh. I had the chocolate torte, which tasted like a brownie made from mix with ice cream. In other words good, but I feel that I could have made it myself. My parents each had the beef entree. While it was good, they said it would have been nice to have some vegetable side rather than just a chunk of meat. The wine we had with the meal was good. Glasses were something like $12 or $14 and the pour was not skimpy. The wine was the most affordable part of the meal. Planning is required. I would advise eating before you go here for dinner.

Cloudy day gave way to the most eclectic sunset.

Let me start by saying, if you wanna skip this review, here are four words: Do not come here. There. Dassit. That's the end of my review. Go home. Browse another site. Eat a frickn' cheeto. This doll is done... This is my sad attempt at bashing the place cause the good word has gone out...Peeps, truth is...I really love this place and I don't want you to come here so I can regularly reserve a room without saying any prayers or waiting on moon-star alignments. SO THERE. My boyfriend and I found the oasis B&B  on a whim after searching for places to dine in Martha's Vineyard. We originally had planned for a day trip but with little convincing from their gallery page, my boyfriend and I figured we could spend a night or two...Luckily for us they had one spare room available for a two night stay, so we booked it quickly. The inn is located on the far west side of the island, about a 45 min drive from the ferry terminal and tourists (hence why it's called Outermost Inn).  When we arrived, we were greeted by the reception and shown to our rooms. We stayed in the B-Ash room which had wonderful views of the back lawn, trees and the ocean (from a distance). As judgemental as I am, I will admit it is incredibly easy to win me over with a scrumptious breakfast.  Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and when it's done right, any political, personal and hormonal turmoil that is affecting my mood is completely gone. With that said, Outermost Inn stole my heart at "Here's your fruit salad w/ sorbet to start". Sorbet?! SAAAAAAYYYYY WHHHHHHATTTTTT. The area itself is relatively quiet, so if you're looking to party, window-shop or any kind of urban theme, this place is not for you but if you're looking to just CHILL, as in read a  book, enjoy the sunset, go to the beach and occasionally see some deer munchin' , this place is still not for you.  Did you forget already? I'm a selfish B. Don't come here. A few minutes up the hill, you can find shops by the lighthouse and cliffs. There's some food  but I think you're better offer grabbing dinner at the inn or somewhere else on the island. Shops have a cute range tourist-y items to bring back as gifts. A little past the shops, is top of the hill where you get a beautiful views of the ocean (or is sound?) and cliffs.  You can also walk a few minutes down the to beach and get a SERIOUS tan. Forewarning to repeatedly wear sunblock:  I was there for about 2 hours and got seriously fried...even with spf. After a nice day of explorin', nappin' and getting fried, make sure to grab dinner back at the inn. They fill up quickly as night, especially around sunset so make a reservation well in advance. Now onto the best part: THE FOOD. Now I will say if I had to critique ONE thing, the portions were a bit small for the hefty pre-fixe price (90- something dollars pp) but everything I had was exceptional. My boyfriend started his meal with the Vineyard Chargrilled Oysters which were bathed in kimchi butter (mhmmmmm) , crispy garlic and lemon and I got the Outermost Garden Salad which had beets, radishes, grapefruit, lemon & purple basil & lemon mascarpone all intertwined into one and beautifully plated "mid-spin". For our main course we had the East Coast Halibut and the Beef Tenderloin. I was too mesmerized by my beef (that's what he said) to have any input on the Halibut but my boyfriend raved about his fish. Ugh the beef tenderloin was sooo good. Too good. Perfectly cooked with avocado crema, pepper and potato hash, tomatillo salsa, manchego cheese, black garlic, all paired with a glass of wine, overlooking the sunset... My friends, I present to you the scientific equation to a perfect evening. Worst part is that it ended too soon because like I said, the portions were too friggin' small. After we finished our meals, we freed up our table for the next eager guests and we headed to the lawn with fellow diners to watch the sunset. If you can't make a reservation, I highly suggest grabbing food elsewhere and getting drinks at the inn as you're still able to enjoy the lush green and beautiful scenery aside with guests. When I woke up the next day, to another round a beautiful breakfast made with love, I was so sad. It's not like I did much but I felt super recharged physically and emotionally. So yea I hope all that deters you from coming here...DANG this review is long. Well if you made it this far, I already gave you the synopsis in the beginning. I booked my dates for next year. Don't let me find you here.

This time we spent a couple days on this quaint island and took our time exploring. We made our way to the beautiful inn and were delighted to find out they accept debit/credit cards as well as Apple Pay. If you have ever been to Cuttyhunk, you know most of the businesses on the island accept cash only, and there is no ATM on the island (as of the time of my review). For breakfast, I got three large chocolate chip pancakes with a fruit cup on the side. My husband got the Vineyard Sound Bowl. We both enjoyed our food. I couldn't finish my portion (should've opted for the smaller portion); I had no idea how large those pancakes were! Our sweet, mild mannered server Emily took great care of us.
