Attended an estate sale they were hosting, and the whole experience was extremely unprofessional. I was told a jewelry container was $7 due to the half-off closing-time discount. Later, another worker tried to charge me $2 for every bracelet inside, even though that wasn't what I was told. When I adjusted what I wanted and brought it back, she suddenly said she "didn't feel like writing a ticket." At that point it felt shady, like she wanted the container for herself. I left everything and walked out. I definitely won't be attending any of their estate sales again. read more

Above and beyond expectations! I cannot express enough my heartfelt thanks to George Zemer for running the estate sale for my mom. First of all, it was seamless from beginning to end and there were indeed lots of parts in between. When I first spoke to George, he told me that his job was to make our lives as easy as possible while cleaning out my mother's home. Well, his promise far exceeded anything we could have expected. First, we (me and my siblings) are not local. So much of the contact was done remote. But George always answered us within minutes. When we did arrive in Buffalo to clean out the house prior to the estate sale, he spent a lot of time with us in person and educated us re various collectibles and artwork. He was a trove of knowledge which helped us to determine what direction we wanted to take with these items. When we signed the contract, he guesstimated the proceeds, which we were very nicely surprised. Then, with the sale, despite it being rainy and very cold over the ENTIRE holiday weekend, he still well EXCEEDED his prediction and we were very very happy. But wait, there's more! Our biggest concern was cleaning out the rest of the house. Well, he set up a clean out service and the house was completely cleaned and swept up and ready for the buyers to move in. And it was for a nominal charge. George also offered to do a few other things with our garbage and even sprayed a hornet's nest because he noticed it! We seriously couldn't be more grateful. Especially when we had to do most everything remote. In fact, I wish I had a "George Ziemer" service near me in NJ when I had my estate sale! Went to a sale where there were several boxes of costume jewelry and one sign. Picked up several bracelets that I thought were one price, but they were a different price and ambiguously marked. She was very snide about it. Loudly told me how I read the sign incorrectly. Fwiw they were Alex and Ani bracelets with the tags on them. If I want to pay retail I'll go to the store. Argued on my Google review that I was not at her sale because she never had Alex and Ani. She's wrong. I distinctly remember the table of jewelry adjacent to an overpriced marble chess/backgammon table. It is not a slanderous review. The house was in Clarence in a well-to-do neighborhood. The family had moved down the street to a smaller home. It was not an old woman, it was a family and there were American Girl items in the basement. I was told that the family was downsizing and purchased a smaller home down the street. It was in a subdivision in Clarence. Absolutely Alex and Ani bracelets with the tags still on them. On my way out the man leaving behind me told me that she's always rude. Also, the customer is always right. You have argued every negative comment on the Google review page. Hike up your panties and eat some humble pie. No one likes a shrew, and it makes you look petty. Spend some time on the way you treat people, you would attract more flies with honey. Rude, unhelpful staff and overpriced items are a real turn-off. We visited the estate sale on Monarch yesterday and were treated to a number of surly little old biddies who dampened our buying experience. With the exception of the guy taking the money, no employees smiled or welcomed shoppers. When we asked a certain tiny gray-haired lady about an item in the bedroom, she didn't know anything about the item and didn't ask anyone else about it either, so we asked unfriendly clerk after clerk -- no one knew anything, nor did they seem to care -- they just wanted to write up tickets and get our money. read more

Attended a Sandra Zeimer estate sale in Buffalo today. The staff was extremely rude especially a woman with short blonde hair. She spoke to a woman from another country like she was a piece of dirt. Pricing is ridiculous and unorganized. I can take crowded, dirty, and even stinky but I cannot tolerate RUDE. I will never shop with this company again. read more

My 2 sisters and myself hired him due to our mother's declining health and intent to quickly sell her home and its contents. Since we all came from out of state, we relied upon his experience and expertise. When the day came for the start of the cleanup and preparation for the estate sale, I made it clear to the supervisor and lady worker to section off an area of boxed personal items which he did with yellow tape. That evening after my return from dinner, after a very heavy rain, to my horror those personal items were put out in the trash cans and bags outside. Among those items were irreplaceable pictures of my mother as a teenager and other boxed special items of my mother's. I spent the better part of the night sifting through the trash trying to salvage and dry the items. I called Mr. Zeimer and left a message and he couldn't be bothered to call me back for several days. When I called him again 2 days later, he would only blame me and not take any responsibility even when I told him that I notified the person in charge and the lady that was working on that room. I couldn't believe his insensitivity to my loss!!! Additionally, I asked for compensation at any level and all he told me is that he wouldn't make any money if he would do that! All he is concerned about is ultimately making 'his' money and doesn't want to help the average person. In my opinion to be so insensitive about someone's own personal treasures, even if is only pictures, is not the kind of person I would recommend to handle YOUR personal belongings and treasures. read more

Went to an estate sale today on Hunting Valley Road, Clarence, NY. I have been to a number of high-end sales over 30+ years and cannot say that I have ever seen such outrageous prices or dealt with such disrespectful sales people in all of my life! Sadly, I will need to hire someone to liquidate a fine, family estate, but I WILL NOT use this company! I understand that my fine exquisite Harden dining set that I paid $25K for will not command but $2K. Seeing this company trying to command 1/3 off of a very well-loved Bassett leather ottoman priced at $600 was absurd. I was able to find one locally for $250 for my daughter, and it was in better shape, almost new! This seller had a lot unsold at the end of the day. Beware, if you are looking to totally liquidate at reasonable prices. read more

George Ziemer worked on my parent's estate sale in Williamsville earlier this month. The house had a ton of things in there that needed to be cleaned out and organized. George worked around the clock to do this and had everything tagged and ready to start the sale. All of us are out of town and relied on his expertise to get it all done. There were even some things that we saw were being sold advertised online and we reached out to see if he can save it for us. He was very nice about it and shipped it to us. There are still only a few items that didn't sell but George is hustling around still trying to get it sold. George is a hard worker who is definately motivated to making the most money for his clients. read more

Just left a sale in North Tonawanda. There were a ton of items left this is the last day of the sale. There were about 8 customers still shopping and at 3:55 even though sale went to 4pm the staff was telling people to stop looking and leave. They started turning off lights and closing doors. Very unprofessional very rude I will never attend a sale of theirs again. I feel bad for the person that hired them. read more

I must agree, the workers are short and curt and seem to be only interested in writing up sales. One older grey haired lady was especially rude and nasty.They are put out and offended if you ask if a price is firm. Most prices are higher than retail antique stores. This is not a pleasant shopping experience.If you expect to sell a houseful of items you must be more flexible and pleasant to your customers. read more

I attended 2 of their estate sales for the first time today and I concur with several other posts about the ridiculously high prices, the unfriendliness of the staff and the overall disorganization. I will concede I am NOT an avid estate saler, but having been to a few held by another local company, there is no comparison. There were items that should have been thrown away that had prices on them! And also, it was the second day of both and only 1/3 off? Sign up list before the sale was replaced with one that moved others' names down to accommodate what I can only assume was a shady deal before the doors opened. Once in, all the furniture had already been tagged and sold to one couple - unbelievable. Cancel the sale if you're going to pull nonsense like this. read more

I want to start out with letting everyone know that i have never writen a bad review about a company before only ever good ones. But today has been a first for a few things for me. My mother, sister and I arrived at one of Sandra Ziemers sales today and I watched my mother pick up a set of gold floral candle sticks. I thought to myself good find mom! But there was no price written on the tags hanging on them so we asked the older lady with the short grey hair. She said oh there are more out in the garage and $20 for the set. I thought it was a lot but if there were more out in the garage then ok. So my mom said ok. The lady got us a bag and wrote it on the slip. Mind you its %50 off so the original price is $40. About 20 mins later the same lady came up to my mother to remind her of the ones out in the garage so we went out there. We found a very nice gentlemen who found them for us and bagged them up. He was going to write them on the sheet but saw they were on the sheet already and we explained the situation and off we went. As we were checking out the original lady yelled across the house to this man that the price needed tobe added to my mothers slip like she was trying to take them with out paying. Neither my mother or i said anything and the guy seemed very confused. So the lady came and wrote it on her slip. Now if you know my mother she would never make a scene but that alone was rude. It did not acure to me till she cashed out that she paid $40 for these candle sticks. Like no way but again I said nothing because my mom really wanted them. So we get out to the car and my mom pulls one out to rearrange our bags and what do you know there is a price tag on the set from the garage that says: set of 3 $15....... ummmmm no. So i went back in with the candle stick to tell the lady and she was not only talking about my mother trying to steal them when i walked it but she would not fix the problem when i nicly brought it to her attention. I said the set in the garage was marked 15 so half would be 7.50. So we should have only paid 15 for the set. She yelled at me said she prices everything and some jerk must have taken that "outside" and made up a price. I said so im the "jerk" she said she would give me my money back i said no i just want the 25 she owes me. She again said i was wrong. I said you treated my mothe poorly she wasnt stealing and if you priced everything to begin with we wouldnt be in this situation and she can keep her money and then i in a very nice told her i would be putting up this review and telling people to not shop there sales because they are not only rude but unfair. We have spent thousands at her sales over the years and never should have been treated that way. so until i recieve $25 plus tax from sandra ziemers company i wont take this down.
