I needed a few more flowers to…read morecomplete my yard for the upcoming garden walk...I selected a few large hanging baskets, potted zinnias, cannas, hydrangeas & other items but while I was selecting plants my husband over heard the guy give a price much lower to other shoppers and when we asked about the prices we were quoted almost double....when my husband called the guy "out" he called him a "liar". As we walked away...he became more enraged looking for attention because we decided NOT to buy the flowers at the higher price or give his bad behavior any further attention. He told us not to ever come back lol...I think he missed our intent was to NOT spend our money with him and we decided we will not be back to buy flowers from him. Buyer beware ...Post the prices and that's all I'm going to say about that!!! He got caught and did not like it.

The company's explanation was that all items needed to be paid for immediately and this state was in the terms, Well after looking and navigating though several pages on the website I found this statement, but not on the individual auction page, and in addition there is a statement state that special arrangements are made for those paying cash on pick-up as my partner indicated was his intention. The companies response to this was that this email went to his spam folder which is hard to believe since they had prior email exchanges. My guess is that he had a regular customer that had bought some of the other boxes, so he sold our boxes to them since indeed they had no other auctions in the area. Blackbird auction has lost my partners and my business, as well as anyone that I have even an iota of influence with once informed of there business practices. They may be great at real estate, but their auction website and disclosures location need revisited, as well as an email system that delivers or spams email sporadically. follow-up: Bill L responded almost immediately with a word? that resembled a sheep sound although I think he meant a whining sound followed by " follow the rules" and then "go away". Well, besides being a statement of your professionalism, if I could find the rules and they are clear, I'd follow them. Best to actually know what you are bidding on, and during the auction listen closely to the representations made by the auctioneer.

However, the Estate Sales Ontario owner had promised us that she would dispose of any unsold items in my brother's apartment. (This promise was also on her website at the time.) This did not happen. We were left with one week to dispose of various large items ourselves in a difficult time of Covid. The owner promised a prompt reckoning and payment from the auction. This also did not happen. It took several months and repeated reminders for any payment to arrive. The owner told us she had "overlooked" our payment because she was so busy. I live in another province. It took three months for items I bid on to arrive. Expect politeness and promises when you first talk to this owner but little follow-through. Very disappointing service.
