I would avoid working with Sandra Greer after my negative experience with Kristin Armenia. She was friendly until we put down our good faith deposit on the apartment we wanted and then the whole process seemed to move into a "get this done and stop asking me questions" tone. Kristen was resistant to providing me the lease language before coming into the office in person to sign the lease, but I'm glad I pushed to see the lease before I went in. The lease offered was dramatically different than what was advertised in the Street Easy ad. For example, the ad said the apartment was pet friendly, but the lease prohibited pets. I asked a friend who has experience in real estate to review the lease after I noticed these inconsistencies and he found 27 major concerns about the lease. When I asked for changes to the lease to match what was advertised her tone got even worse. Kristin claimed that we were the only people in the history of Sandra Greer real estate to ask for changes to a lease. Her whole approach made us very nervous. Ultimately, Kristin and the owner refused to make adjustments to the lease to match the advertisement, so we parted ways. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because we got our full good faith deposit back. This was an emotionally exhausting 15 day ordeal that I would prefer to avoid in the future. read more

Kristin Armenia is beyond awesome, and much like a previous reviewer, it was just a stroke of good fortune that my GF and I found her office. We'd just begun our search for an apartment to move into together (a couple weeks earlier than we had to) and had seen 4 or 5 places on one Saturday afternoon, just to get a feel for what we could expect to find in our price range. On our walk back to the subway, we happened across the photos outside the Sandra Greer office, and after sending an email that evening, we received an immediate reply from Kristin, who arranged to meet us the next afternoon. We saw a couple of places that were immediately available, but made her aware that we wouldn't be able to move that quickly due to our leases. With that information, she took us to a building she knows well to show us an apartment similar to one that would be available when we were looking (and was undergoing a complete renovation) that wouldn't even be listed for a few weeks. From that moment on, Kristin was there to assist us through the process of applying and getting approved by a VERY detail-oriented and thorough management company. Answering questions, gathering paperwork, and occasionally dealing with an impatient pain-in-the-ass client (me) with good humor - though I'm sure there was a time or two when she may have wanted me to lose her number. Fast forward to yesterday, sitting in our new apartment on the UES, we absolutely could not be happier. My boyfriend and I had been on the hunt for an apartment on the UES for a few weeks and happened to walk by the Sandra Greer office. We liked one posting on their window and decided to email Kristin the next day. She met with us that night. We were supposed to see two apartments but instead she showed us an apartment that was newly placed on the market. It was priced lower than our price range and still in the area we wanted. She was incredibly knowledgeable of both the building management company and superintendent of the building. Having just met Kristin, we were a little hesitant to be so open with a new broker but Kristin was very warm and welcoming. She even joked that her office is close enough for us to throw rocks at if we weren't satisfied with our apartment. We ended up applying for the apartment that night and are now happily moved in. She kept us continually updated throughout the approval process and was always available to answer any questions we had. Kristin even suggested some great restaurants since we're new to the neighborhood and we loved Uva! I found Kristin Armenia and Sandra Greer Real Estate through reviews on Yelp and I have to say I couldn't be happier that I found her page and rave reviews. Moving to NYC from out of state, I had limited time to find an apartment and I was brand new and unfamiliar to the city (with a tight budget). I didn't know what to expect in terms of the apartment hunt. I was overwhelmed to say the very least. Kristin made the whole process a million times less stressful, from talking with me on the phone before I flew in to the city to meeting with me multiple times during my time there to look at more apartments than I ever expected! I found her through a friend, who has a stellar apartment in the neighborhood I wanted to live, who only had amazing things to say about her. I happened upon the Sandra Greer office on my way to an appointment to view another apartment. There was a listing posted in the window that had just become available in my price range, so I eagerly rang the doorbell to see if I could speak with someone about the place. We (my father and I) were immediately buzzed in, and greeted by Kristin Armenia who offered to take us to view the apartment that very moment. As we walked together to the property, it became clear that Kristin was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the apartment-hunting process. She was already describing the features of the building and apartment on our way over (oftentimes when I have gone on appointments to meet a broker, it is the first time they have seen the place and cannot even answer basic questions about the property), so I was pleased when we showed up and it was exactly as she had described it. In fact, it was better than I had imagined. When I consider the plethora of apartments and price ranges I looked at, Sandra Greer Real Estate has, by far, the best apartments available. So it's not a surprise that I signed on the dotted line, new lease in-hand, and I was the happiest soon-to-be Upper East Sider in all of New York. Kristin made the whole process from seeing the property, to signing the lease, and handing over the keys so easy; she is an absolutely delightful person to be around. She answered all of our questions and did not hurry us or try to pressure me into an apartment that wasn't right (unlike some brokers I used). I worked with Kristen Armenia and the experience was as good as apt hunting in NYC can get! I was specifically interested in Midtown and the UES, and preferred a building with laundry and was working within a tight budget. Kristin found me a great place within about a week of initial contact and was great at communicating throughout the process. I was searching for an apartment on StreetEasy sending dozens of emails to different brokers and her response was the most helpful. She worked with me for about 6 weeks prior to my trip to NY. Kristin helped me get a rental apartment locked down in two days. The first day we viewed 8 apartments. She did a terrific job showing me what I wanted to see and what best fit my needs (and wants!). I worked with Casey from Sandra Greer to find my current apartment on the Upper East Side. It was the first time I would be living alone without roommates, and I had quite a strict budget. I had tried a few brokers, but none of them were really interested in listening to what I wanted, rather, they just wanted to flip apartments that they'd had on the books for a while (and were the opposite of what I had asked for). Casey on the other hand listened to and considered all of my preferences and requirements for a studio, no matter how crazy and weird they were (I'm fussy about everything from the apt itself, to the exterior of the building it is in...), was realistic with me in terms of what I could expect for my budget, and then blew me away by finding me a 1-bed apartment that totally exceeded my expectations, but also fit comfortably within my price range. Fortunately, I found Kristin Armenia as my broker. Living in Boston and needing to find a rental for my son who will be attending NYU was daunting. I did not know where to begin. While I read about the market, researched the neighborhoods and surfed the Web, we still needed an expert. Kristin was a life saver. She was personable, receptive, knowledgeable and ready to help.
