On the phone we explained we had our infant son with us, and they said they would give us the last room they had. We drove fifty miles through whiteout conditions to get here after closing, and the elderly owners not only waited for us, but had walked to the other end of the motel, through heavy snow, to turn the heat on in our room before we arrived. Truly decent people. The place isn't new, but it's clean, and more importantly to us, it was safe and warm. They gave us a room with three beds, because it was all they had left when we originally called. I know for sure they could have rented it out ten times over in the time it took us to drive there.

We also thought the noise in the hotel was a bit more than anywhere else we stayed. We definitely heard a dog, motorcycles from the property outside we could see (private residence) and voices. If they are really doing a reno, this will all be fixed I am sure, but right now it isn't great. It is a hotel off Route 66, a road more dotted with motels than nicer hotels, so maybe it just is what it is for where it is.
