Now it's karaoke time for our party :-)

It's basically a basic bar, basically. There's no food, There's not a lot going on here but drinking but they do have darts :-) There are good TV options for sports fans, and the do have a nice big stage for live music but that's about it. The bushwhackers are very, very bland, which is unfortunate as their website proudly proclaims that it was the owner of the Sandshacker invented this Gulf Coast drink favorite. They say "The Bushwacker has been the signature drink of the Sandshaker Lounge for over 30 years" but honestly it is basically the funniest bushwhacker I've anywhere on the coast, so unfortunate. They two redeeming factors are karaoke and the view, both which are enjoyable. Without those two amenities I would have no reason to come here. Frankly, without our recent guests desire for karaoke and drinks we would not be here. Bottom line: There's plenty of better bars, the view is good but there's lt if those too.

Ok, some of you may follow my magnanimous following on Yelp due to my adventurous life. I just walked into the Sandshaker at the Wharf in Orange Beach Alabama. Greeted by the salty bartender, Jessi, who immediately knew I wanted a Bushwacker. Her spunky personality is just as fresh as the clean salty air of the Gulf. Don't get me wrong, she slings drinks to sport fisherman who's average lexicon consist of f_€k and "hell yeah". Sometimes in the same sentence. The place is cool were you can't distinguish between the haves and have-not's.

Never had these but they are amazing, bartender recommended. Forgot her name but she was petite with blond hair

The service is always great! It is a bit loud inside. They have the best bushwhackers in town!

Horrible service, don't waste your time. Waitress and bartender are beyond rude. Spend your money money where courtesy is appreciated.

But it is amazing what $1 mimosas and $3 Bloody Marys can cure. There was very nice duo playing light '70s rock - very good overall. The mimosas and Bloody Mary were good and service spot on. My crab and spinach omelette was good - lots of crab meat but spinach could have been wilted a slight bit more. Hubby's steak and eggs - the steak was more well done than the medium he asked for but still tasty and tender.

We started with a cocktail and the spicy blue crab dip, both of which were excellent and a great way to begin the meal. We also ordered the meat and cheese board, which was decent but felt fairly basic for the price. The cheese and jalapeño focaccia was flavorful and enjoyable as well. For the main course, I ordered the New York strip with crab cakes. The steak was cooked properly but lacked seasoning and flavor, requiring quite a bit of salt. The crab cakes were also underwhelming and not something I would order again. My stepson ordered the kids' Alfredo, which tasted more like plain macaroni and ended up being so bland that he barely ate it. My husband had the bacon BBQ shrimp and enjoyed it, although I found it a little too sweet for my taste. Considering the overall quality of the food, the meal did not feel worth the price we paid. That said, our server was very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a fun atmosphere. They also offer live music on certain nights, which adds to the experience. Overall, while there were a few highlights, the food didn't quite live up to our expectations.
