But it is amazing what $1 mimosas and $3 Bloody Marys can cure. There was very nice duo playing light '70s rock - very good overall. The mimosas and Bloody Mary were good and service spot on. My crab and spinach omelette was good - lots of crab meat but spinach could have been wilted a slight bit more. We came here for dinner after reading several great reviews, but unfortunately left feeling a bit disappointed. We started with a cocktail and the spicy blue crab dip, both of which were excellent and a great way to begin the meal. We also ordered the meat and cheese board, which was decent but felt fairly basic for the price. The cheese and jalapeño focaccia was flavorful and enjoyable as well. For the main course, I ordered the New York strip with crab cakes. The steak was cooked properly but lacked seasoning and flavor, requiring quite a bit of salt. The crab cakes were also underwhelming and not something I would order again. My stepson ordered the kids' Alfredo, which tasted more like plain macaroni and ended up being so bland that he barely ate it. My husband had the bacon BBQ shrimp and enjoyed it, although I found it a little too sweet for my taste. Considering the overall quality of the food, the meal did not feel worth the price we paid. That said, our server was very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a fun atmosphere. They also offer live music on certain nights, which adds to the experience. My friend had made a reservation so we were seated quickly. It's noisy. Between the hustle and bustle of the open kitchen, and the loud band playing, it was very hard to hold a conversation. We came for Happy Hour where they have discounted alcoholic beverages and appetizers. We asked for the Happy Hour menu but it was never delivered to us. I pulled up the menu on my phone and verified with the waitress that it was indeed the Happy Hour menu. I wanted wine, and she said it was half price on any glass on the menu. Once we got our drinks, we ordered food. My friend ordered a Mini Cheese tray, and my spouse ordered the Mini Artichoke dip and Coconut Shrimp off the Happy Hour menu. In addition, my friend and I ordered the grouper off of the Early Bird menu. At this point, I wanted another glass of wine. We couldn't find the waitress so my friend went to the bar to get it. Meanwhile, the waitress showed up and chased after my friend. When they came back, the waitress said that she had made a mistake. There was no Happy Hour as a car show event was happening. However, the manager made an adjustment and gave me Happy Hour price for the wine (thank you). The cheese tray was small, which was no big surprise; however, it was an odd assortment of items. A few chunks of cheese, small sliver of Brie, olives, prosciutto, and a few crackers that were soft from the humidity. My friend had ordered this before, and said it was much more creative. The Coconut Shrimp had a bare hint of coconut and a pretty spicy, sweet sauce. They were very uniform, and appeared to have come frozen from a vendor. The Artichoke dip was not good. It basically tasted like melted cream cheese. The grouper was a small piece with mushroom risotto and green beans. Overall, it was tasty although a bit on the salty side for my taste buds. The waitress initially brought one bill, and we asked her to split it. When we got our bills, they were confusing. For example, the Artichoke dip was supposed to be $10 but it was $10.40. If I could give Ginny Lane Bar & Grill a sixth star, I would--but Yelp told me to relax. Let me start with the main event: the brunch shrimp and grits. I don't know what kind of magic they're putting in that bowl, but if every diplomatic negotiation started with this dish, we'd have world peace by noon. The grits were creamy, the shrimp were perfect, and the egg on top? Absolute brilliance. It was like the chef said, "Let's take perfection... and then promote it." The water view was so good I forgot for a moment that I'm a responsible adult with things to do. If you're trying to lower your blood pressure or pretend you're in a country music video--this is the spot. Our waitress was a delight--friendly, fast, and somehow always there exactly when we needed her but never hovering like a helicopter parent. A true brunch ninja. And let's talk about the $1 mimosas. I'm not saying they changed my life... but I am saying that after the third one, I briefly considered becoming a full-time brunch influencer. Came here as a recommendation from a friend. After spending close to $30 a dozen for oysters a two different places it was quite a surprise to find out these were $1 each all day everyday. Don't skip on the Mignonette sauce either. My new favorite way to eat oysters. Wife had the fried shrimp ($12.00 happy hour) and it was good as well. I was happy with the $1 oysters then I saw the happy hour prices for drinks and that was icing on the cake. We sat at the bar and didn't venture to the other side of the restaurant. Our first night in Orange Beach, family dined at Ginny Lane. Our server was friendly, but the service was very slow. To be fair, he appeared to be pulling double duty as both our server and the restaurant bartender. We ordered a New York strip and a filet, both medium, but both steaks arrived well-done and heavily charred. I also ordered the $42 lobster special, and the lobster tail contained what looked to be only about 2 ounces of meat. Still hungry, I ordered the all-you-can-eat popcorn shrimp. The first plate came with 8 shrimp and a huge pile of French fries. When I ordered a second round, only 5 shrimp were served. Overall, the food quality and portions did not justify the nearly $200 bill. Unfortunately, this was a disappointing dining experience and not a place we would return to. read more

Place is in a great location, although it is a tourist trap. Pricing is ok. The view of the waterway is relaxing. Service is good and stiff is attentive. Food is where improvement is needed. $1 oysters! All day every day. I stopped st 2 dozen today. They were some if the largest and best tasting oysters I've had. My wife had Red Beans & Rice, which she said was good. (But not as good as her own.) They are located at The Wharf, a shopping, dining, entertainment area. They have an outdoor dining area that is get friendly, but it was too chilly and windy for outdoors. Our waitress was friendly and helpful with suggestions from the menu. Our server was friendly and in the process of training someone else. However, he was a bit lost & forgetful and she was criticizing his teaching abilities. Our drink orders were taken yet took nearly 10-15 minutes to receive them. As for food, items were forgotten and requests were never brought out. My Prime Rib was fatty and lukewarm. Not something I would ever need to order again. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, an upscale grille and bar feel with a large bar & live music. Lots of sausage chunks though. Daughter #2 ordered the burger. It was the best thing we ordered. I got the bayou grouper. The risotto was great, but the grouper left a little to be desired. Easy access with great views to a marina which houses some large and majestic boats. Comfortable vibe. No need to dress up. Somewhat dark interior. Could use different lighting. Cavernous space with a wall dividing two distinct spaces. Very limited parking adjacent to restaurant. Structure nearby involves crossing a street and exactly ideal for convenience. A challenge if you have walking or other mobility limitations. Once inside, the restaurant is easy to navigate. Bathroom availability is limited when Ginny Lane is crowded. Nice stop if you are visiting Orange Beach. It is part of the much larger complex called The Wharf.
