    Grouper

My friend had made a reservation so we were seated quickly. It's noisy. Between the hustle and bustle of the open kitchen, and the loud band playing, it was very hard to hold a conversation. We came for Happy Hour where they have discounted alcoholic beverages and appetizers. We asked for the Happy Hour menu but it was never delivered to us. I pulled up the menu on my phone and verified with the waitress that it was indeed the Happy Hour menu. I wanted wine, and she said it was half price on any glass on the menu. Once we got our drinks, we ordered food. My friend ordered a Mini Cheese tray, and my spouse ordered the Mini Artichoke dip and Coconut Shrimp off the Happy Hour menu. In addition, my friend and I ordered the grouper off of the Early Bird menu. At this point, I wanted another glass of wine. We couldn't find the waitress so my friend went to the bar to get it. Meanwhile, the waitress showed up and chased after my friend. When they came back, the waitress said that she had made a mistake. There was no Happy Hour as a car show event was happening. However, the manager made an adjustment and gave me Happy Hour price for the wine (thank you). The cheese tray was small, which was no big surprise; however, it was an odd assortment of items. A few chunks of cheese, small sliver of Brie, olives, prosciutto, and a few crackers that were soft from the humidity. My friend had ordered this before, and said it was much more creative. The Coconut Shrimp had a bare hint of coconut and a pretty spicy, sweet sauce. They were very uniform, and appeared to have come frozen from a vendor. The Artichoke dip was not good. It basically tasted like melted cream cheese. The grouper was a small piece with mushroom risotto and green beans. Overall, it was tasty although a bit on the salty side for my taste buds. The waitress initially brought one bill, and we asked her to split it. When we got our bills, they were confusing. For example, the Artichoke dip was supposed to be $10 but it was $10.40. The Cheese tray was supposed to be $8 but it was $8.32. Everything ended up with this odd bit of change attached. We were just ready to go at this point so we paid and left.

    Shrimp And Grits

If I could give Ginny Lane Bar & Grill a sixth star, I would--but Yelp told me to relax. Let me start with the main event: the brunch shrimp and grits. I don't know what kind of magic they're putting in that bowl, but if every diplomatic negotiation started with this dish, we'd have world peace by noon. The grits were creamy, the shrimp were perfect, and the egg on top? Absolute brilliance. It was like the chef said, "Let's take perfection... and then promote it." The water view was so good I forgot for a moment that I'm a responsible adult with things to do. If you're trying to lower your blood pressure or pretend you're in a country music video--this is the spot. Our waitress was a delight--friendly, fast, and somehow always there exactly when we needed her but never hovering like a helicopter parent. A true brunch ninja. And let's talk about the $1 mimosas. I'm not saying they changed my life... but I am saying that after the third one, I briefly considered becoming a full-time brunch influencer. To finish strong, the bread pudding arrived and it was huge. A portion so generous it made me question every other restaurant's life choices. Warm, rich, perfectly sweet--basically dessert therapy. Bottom line: If you go to Ginny Lane Bar & Grill and don't have a good time, check your pulse. This place nails brunch, vibes, service, and value.

Great live music on Friday night! Very extensive menu with great options. Had a frozen watermelon margarita, gumbo (absolutely amazing) and jalapeño focaccia

Wait time wasn't bad.On the water with boats outside. My wife had the ribeye and I had the fried shrimp. We both really enjoyed it.Service was great.Located in The wharf so you can get some shopping in.Definitely worth a future stop from The Working Man Review.

Thank you Mel, Eric and staff for having us at your restaurant. And for getting gluten free menu as well. We will all return soon.

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten free diet. And worked with my friend to make my birthday party so wonderful!

Burgers looked good but had much better

Place is in a great location, although it is a tourist trap. Pricing is ok. The view of the waterway is relaxing. Service is good and stiff is attentive. Food is where improvement is needed. Wife has had the streak, overcooked and tough. I had crawfish and they were ok. Plentiful but have had better. Burgers looked better than they tasted. We have been twice and will go to other places in the future.

Staff was super friendly and attentive, the ambiance maybe we went too late at 8pm but there were only 3 tables. They had a 2 man band to fill us with music so that was nice. Food was great, my son loved the crab legs!

How can you beat 1$ oysters? Happy hour from 11-6. Service was great. I recommend the fried green tomatoes, and the grouper sandwich.

Service was so slow, we waited 15 minutes before anyone approached our table. Portion sizes are small for the amount you're paying.

It's the food folks go there for. The oysters were fresh and served in a simple appealing way. The fish was white and firm and delicious. The grilled shrimp they are famous for do not have a savory flavor, tastes more like they were grilled with honey on them. We were not expecting that at all. We did not like the 30 dollars worth of sweet shrimp. It does come in very generous portion if you like that type of flavor. Hush puppies were pretty darn good, light, nicely seasoned with good flavor. The Cole slaw was excellent. All portions were generous. Overall they are friendly, the service is personable and efficient! Ambiance is that of a local diner style, not fancy just comfortable. We liked everything but the sweet grilled shrimp. We are from the north and maybe it is just a southern style we aren't familiar with or used to consuming. The gumbo is pretty good too. They have great mixed drinks and they have one that is a salted caramel flavor that is really excellent. Overall: would highly recommend for a good meal and friendly service. Probably the best place we ate in the Orange Beach area.

My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.
