Came here for dinner while starving and they definitely fulfilled my hunger quickly. We were seated right away with no reservation. The waitress took our orders swiftly and we were served our food within 15 mins of arrival. I had the hero that was chicken cutlet, fresh mozz, and vinegar onions, added arugula. The bread on this hero was spectacular, just the type of Italian bread I like with that crunch factor. Portions generous. read more

Had a great breakfast the other day. Had a broccoli rabe frittata, cam with avocado and had a gluten free roll . it was delicious. Also got a reg coffee with cream. It was balanced and not bitter. Although filincino is a tad on the expensive side it's very good. The cafe is very loud. Service is good. Overall good for breakfast or lunch. This place is dangerous, you walk in at 160lbs and ya leave hitting 175! Love this place, the food is fresh, delicious and def satisfying. From the roast beef and mozz to their chicken parm hero... The service was great & the staff is incredibly friendly but the food unfortunately was 3 stars, at most, The bread for both sandwiches was quite hard to bite into & the chicken cutlet had close to no flavor. The sandwiches are good, but I'm sorry these prices are just insane. Their Italian Sub was already $25 dollars, and they just raised it to $28. They also added a $1.25 upcharge for Semolina bread for your sandwich order. Towne Deli has been offering the same sandwich, but BIGGER, for years. and is $10 cheaper right now. Make your other menu items more expensive or something, because $30 for a basic Italian hero is insane. read more

New favorite! We absolutely loved the food and experience here! They have a bakery with a big selection of Italian desserts, they also have bread and cakes. Absolutely delicious treats and coffee beverages! We came for late lunch and had sandwiches and salad. They have dairy free milk alternatives and gluten free bread as well! Fantastic! The bread here is so good! The sandwiches were excellent! ( hot tuna panini and chicken Parmesan sandwich ), the salad was fresh and so tasty! Friendly and attentive service, they were very busy for lunch but still excellent care and service. It's nice and warm inside, and the have 2 different areas and different style seating depending on where you sit. In the front they have tables and chair style seating, while in the back they have half booth style/chair style seating and some divided areas. Definitely recommend! Customer service 10/10 Wait time for food 1/10 Came in to order a sandwich to-go with my wife WAITED 42 min for me to get ONE sandwich When i received my supposed to be HOT SANDWICH , its was COLD 3 individual people came in about 10-15 min after me and sat down and received there food faster than us ordering for take out. This is not the same as the other filoncino restaurants. The girl at the front counter was extremely rude, her name was Ava. I will be sticking to. I will be sticking to the one in eltingville. Food doesn't even taste the same. I've tried this place over 5x since it's closer to me. But I'm done. Prices are jacked up too read more

First had their sandwiches at their other location and noticed this location after our dentist appointment ! Came in and it was definitely a full house! Snagged a table and we ordered 2 sandwiches and a dirty chai. My son and i both enjoyed our sandwiches and service was really nice! Filoncino is my go to along with many of my friends. Enzo, Frankie, Vinny, Benny and all the rest of the staff are professional, friendly in welcoming you into their establishment, and extremely accommodating in their meeting your dietary requirements. The food is beyond exceptional and their desserts are marvelous. They know their customers by name.and treat you like royalty. I highly recommend this establishment and am so glad they are flourishing. It's safety, ultra clean, and pleasant in ambiance. We came in for dinner on a Friday night as a party of two. Our waitress was very friendly, but the overall experience left much to be desired. The food service was disorganized--our sandwich and pasta were served before the appetizer pizza, which arrived while we were already eating our main courses. The sandwich was delicious, and while the pasta had good flavor, it was lukewarm and gave off a bit of an Applebee's vibe. The pizza, despite the timing, was excellent. On our way out, we decided to purchase some cookies that looked fantastic in the display case. Unfortunately, they were a complete disappointment. Once we got home and tried them, they were dry, crumbly, and had absorbed the strong flavor of a mocha product stored nearby. At $20 for the batch, we had no choice but to throw them out--such a waste! Perhaps they were old, but it was an upsetting end to the meal. Having been loyal patrons of Royal Crown for many years, this was our third visit to Filoncino, and it might be our last time purchasing cookies or pastries. In addition to the food issues, the staff seemed disorganized and untrained. Many were standing around, unsure of what to do. The ambiance was lackluster, with more of a cafeteria-style vibe than a cozy dining experience. Next time, I'll probably stick to takeout and order one of their heroes, which are consistently good. We ordered the Turkey Bacon Omelette and Blueberry Crumb Pie Pancakes. I'm something of a pancake expert and these are some of the best on the island. The service was outstanding and the staff was really kind! Definitely give them a shot if you haven't already. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!

Sorry to say this place is not what it used to be. There's a reason they are very few people there…read morenow. We sat down at 8:15 am on 9/20 and we were the only ones there. My coffee spoon was in my cup when my coffee was brought to me and when I took it out it was filthy like it was never washed. Stuck on crud was hard to remove with my napkin. I didn't say anything at that time because I was hungry and if I showed my wife she would have made a scene. Then the food took 45 minutes to arrive. I got the disco eggs. The cast iron pan it comes in was ice cold. They used to bring it out on a wood board piping hot. The fries were as if they were from yesterday and they Just melted cheese on them. Very little brown gravy not like it was when original owners made it. The forgot my side of bacon I asked for but I let that go because I no longer wanted it. My wife got what used to be called the farmers platter. The sausage was the size of my pinky split down the middle. Looked like super market frozen kind. Small square of ham on side. They forgot her home fries and when she asked they brought her a very small portion in a coffee sized cup. They were cold. After waiting all this time you would expect food to be hot and fresh. The bill came and I told them take the bacon off I never got it. They didn't even apologize. No explanation. The menu is gone with multiple mid spellings. I'm never going back.
