went on a weekend and the bar area was full of patrons, quite a few empty tables (high tops) but one of the servers told us they were short on bus boys to clean up. We waited about 30 mins or so and got seated. Food was delish! We were hungry so we ordered so many apps that we ended up packing up to go & couldn't even make a dent on our entrees. The nachos with chill (get on the side) were freaking delish! Our burgers were cooked to perfection. Amazing menu General Tso's cauliflower was delicious Artichoke spinach dip was one of the best I've ever tasted Blackened shrimp wrap was full of shrimp and totally perfect Pizza with mushrooms was ok (I would say not their specialty) Key lime pie was superb- also one of the best I've tasted. Went with some buddies from work to catch the ncaa tournament and had never been here. We ordered some wings and pastrami eggrolls for appetizers and were very good. The wings were not overly saucy. Ended up trying the penne vodka with chicken. They give you a ton of chicken on the dish and the vodka was pretty good. They have happy hour drinks specials. Only downside and it just cannot be ignored is guy who was either a host or mgr at some point had a disagreement with a customer and proceeded to beat the hell out of the guy and literally was hitting him with a chair. When I called in the phone order, I had to pay ahead of time with my credit card. I was impressed by the place when I went to pick up the food. Bright, clean, lots of tables, and lots of TV sets. Everyone was friendly. The coleslaw was very good. Nice and crisp, and the dressing was excellent. It wasn't just a simple mayo. The sweet potato tots were a bit of a letdown. They were OK, but nothing spectacular. They were rather soft, instead of crispy, and while they did taste OK, some were dark around the edges. I also did not care for the dipping sauce that came with them. It was way too sweet. It tasted like it belonged on top of a cinnamon roll, not with sweet potato tots. $13 plus tip. While wandering through Staten Island Mall, we got hungry and came to Tommy's for a sit down meal. They have daily specials and on a Monday, all cocktails were half off --sweet deal! I got the Peach Whiskey Smash while he got the Classic Old Fashioned for $6 each. I will say it's a bit watered down, but it's still not bad during their Monday deal after 4pm. For food, we got the Sushi Sandwich ($17), Medium Della Valle ($20), and Coal Oven Wings ($16). I was surprised to find this American sports bar with sushi on their menu, but it's surprisingly pretty good! The sushi was flavorful and fresh. The pizza was solid too although some of the meat seemed a bit fake, but still good. The only thing we didn't care for was the wings as they were burnt onto the serving platter. There's no wonder that there's a million locations of this place and it's always popping. The drinks are great the wings are great and the pulled pork mac and cheese is my favorite. I've been on the fence about writing a review, but last night's incident pushed me over the top, so here we are. My family likes coming here. The food is decent, the service is good, and the atmosphere is pleasant. With that being said, it is BUSY! And they don't take reservations. That's all fine; however, when you come with little kids and have to wait for a table, and there isn't much of a waiting area, it can get tricky. Many people were moving around, and servers carried drinks and large hot food trays. We sat the kids on the bar stools to stay out of harm's way while we stood next to them. This isn't allowed, and it's not illegal; it's just not allowed at this establishment. Once you get to your table, it's pretty smooth sailing: you order, you wait, sometimes you wait awhile, depending on how busy they are, you get your food and enjoy! Last night, they had a fire alarm issue. My kids, sensitive to loud sounds, have started to freak out! It took a while for them to turn it off. I had to take them out of the restaurant, and on the way out, I let my frustrations be known, to which some at the front just shrugged off. Pretty much that included a manager; once they turned it off, we returned in, and as soon as we sat down, it went off again. My kids, of course, reacted, so I had to bring them back outside again until they shut it off. Now, you can imagine how dinner was no longer an enjoyable experience, especially when the kids wanted to flee. I'm assuming a manager was walking around table to table in the blue shirt. He asked us "how everything was," and while my husband asked for a check, I responded, "Not that great." Then he just walked away. I came here with 3 friends on a Saturday night. At 6 PM the wait was 45 minutes. Once we got the text, we saw that they suggested limiting our "dining experience to 90 minutes." I very rarely go out to dinner or our with my friends - I am sorry, but I will take my time and enjoy myself. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. Everything was just ok. Taquitos - bland Spinach and Artichoke Dip - standard nothing to write home about Brussel sprouts - good, but good God too much crap all over them Margherita pizza - bland. I've been a long time customer and have been disappointed the last two times with their quality of food. Things like skimping on the pulled pork on the mac and cheese and dry brisket on the sandwich. But delivery can be tough. I understand. Then today...ordered food for pick up. My daughter picked it up. Ten minutes later I get a call from the restaurant saying that they are out of one thing and to call them to make a change. I call but the mgr said it was too late (they let me know AFTER it was picked up). They couldn't deliver anything since we ordered pickup. And couldn't credit me because they use DoorDash for pick up. When I asked why they handed the food to my daughter when it was short the mgr said they were very busy and it "slipped through the cracks". My daughter said she was the only one waiting and the restaurant wasn't crowded. Long story short....The food we got was ok. Brisket was still dry. Pizza I ordered had a sauce that tasted like it came from a can. Cornbread and pretzel were really good. My opinion is they grew too fast and lost their quality control. They have a great selection of beers on draft here. Lots of craft beers as well. I tried a few different IPA ones, as that's my favorite, and they were all great. After a few drinks, we ordered some food. The menu had so many options to choose from. We ordered a pizza and a burger and split both. The burger was awesome. Although I've only ever had burgers here the menu here boasts sushi, pizza, entrees and more. The burger I had recently was beyond juicy and flavorful. It was big too. She asked if I was a rewards member and also gave me a receipt at the end saying I have a $10 rewards to use. That was so great to know. My wife and I visited Tommy's many times. Our main problem with this place is the mixed drinks. They love to fill the glass full of ice with a three or four sips. Its really pathetic how they rip you off even tho the place is packed all the time. Stay away from all mixed drinks or the sangria and stick with beer or wine. Must some words of advice. No one in my group complained once the food arrived, but we were upset it took so long. The food is amazing. The service exceptional. She was managing 3-5 tables with large groups and she held it down. The music was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the song selections but you couldn't talk to people at the table without yelling. The bar can become quite graphic for young children. The establishment can't control the groping at the bar so if you have children ask to sit away from the bar. Unfortunately, we had a full show. This is the place to be Friday nights! My family frequents here and mentioned to come grab a bite! We were quickly seated after being told there was 10 minute wait. The drink menu had some great cocktail options so I chose the Orange Crush and Whiskey sour; Both were good but didn't have much alcohol. For food, we had the wings, calamari, and crispy Brussels. The wings came nicely charred and topped with sautéed peppers and onions, Brussels were tossed in bacon and honey mustard, and the calamari was crispy and tender! One of my favorite restaurant on the island. This place is popping. Doesn't matter which day of the week it is. Happy hours all night long. My favorites are Tuesdays half price wine bottle. Sit at the bar till 6 pm on weekdays, you get some great deals with the bites. Have a nice date at the booth, but don't worry if you don't like your date this place is loud anyways, can't hear them. Have a couple drinks with friends; table all around. If you can manage to catch a football game on Sunday and Thursday, there are late night specials. The draft beer selection is amazing.
