    a stage with red chairs

I've never been here before, and was I pleasantly surprised, and very impressed. I like the idea of a smaller venue for a more intimate setting. You can actually see the artist performing and the sound wasn't so deafening that you need to get hearing aids after the show. I especially like how the rows of seats are just a little bit (slightly) staggered so that if you are sitting behind a tall person you can at least see better, that is until everyone stands up, as in the case tonight. I received a birthday present to see Melissa Ethridge here, and was pleasantly surprised on both the venue and the performance. I've seen her in concert several times, and I have to say this it the best performance and venue I've see her at. There are two nice size parking lots to park your vehicle, and two entrances, but at each entrance you will have your coolers, and bags searched. I didn't care, I knew they would be doing this, so I just left mine in the car. Prices are steep at the concession stand, especially beer and spirits. Oh and they check your I.D. at the gate. If you are over 21 they will give you a colored wrist band, which makes the lines move faster. Also, you can order online for no waiting, just walk up to the online order window and Wallah extra fast service. There is general seating on the grassy area (behind the chairs) if you want to sprawl out on your blanket. I'm glad we had actual seats. Sitting for hours without back support makes my back grumpy, and my knees thank me. There are signs everywhere saying no camera's, and I was going to obey the rules. However, when Melissa came out on stage every one took out their camera and starting taking pictures...and so did I. Great venue for intimate performances. I need to find out if they have a season pass. So many good concerts coming up. Now go break a leg.

Nice place. We came to watch Air Supply and were impressed with the venue. This was our 1st time at the Sandy amphitheater, and I was thrilled to see that it wasn't all grass. Also, liking a good amphitheater, it wasn't too large of a venue, either. Pro tip: Pretty much no matter where you sit, you'll be in the sun for the 1st little while. Bring an umbrella if you don't want to get sunburned. Their food options are limited in general, but better than most amphitheaters I have been to. They also serve alcohol in the premises.

This is a great little venue for concerts and other things. I've seen three different performances here now. It's like a tiny Red Butte. They have a small concession with drinks and a few snacks. I believe you can bring in your own goodies because I've never got checked at the entrance. The sunset view is amazing here. They do a lot of free events. Parking is easy and you don't have to pay for it.

My first visit. I don't know why I've never been here. We had so much fun seeing the the "Dead South". This venue is so beautiful, quaint with all the amenities. You like beer? You got it. Mixed drinks? Yup. Every seat is the best seat. Hey you want to picnic? Lots of grass! Plenty of security around. Just make sure you come early to secure a parking spot. Other than that, it's an amazing place to hang.

Shrek the Musical! From the lawn seats. Bring a blanket and cooler!

First time here and I was really impressed! We saw Shrek the Musical and my daughter had a great time. We've seen Shrek before by a different production and at a different location and I definitely prefer the Sandy City Amphitheater as a venue. I don't believe there is a bad seat in the house. We could see the stage, the mountains, and the valley. The views are great!. We had grass seats and brought blankets and food and let the kids run around during intermition. *** They allow outside food and drinks, so pack a cooler!

The view from the top of the hill.

My family stayed down the street at the HGI in Sandy for 5 nights for my son's soccer tournament and we visited Slackwater 3 times. Pro tip: join the waitlist on Yelp! Even during the week, the wait was 30+ mins each time. Food was great. We tried a lot of different pizzas - we got the Chicken Bro-Do, Hot Honey DP, Tikka Masala, Taco Camarones and Margherita. The airy artisan crust is the same on all pizzas and is delicious. I would recommend them all outside of the Camarones which felt a bit underwhelming as there was very little shrimp and flavor was flat. The Citrus Morita dry rub wings are incredible. We ordered these every night. The Morita chile sauce I would throw on everything. Super fresh and flavorful. It had the right amount of heat . The breadsticks are really good. Same bread that they use for the pizza and stuffed with a ton of cheese. Marinara sauce that comes with it is top notch. The Diablo sticks are spicy just to be spicy. The sauce isn't good. We switched to regular marinara. Would recommend staying away from these. Service is great. Everyone is very attentive. The staff definitely give off a chill energy but are focused, alert and friendly. This place is a must if you're in the area. Hope we can make it back someday.

My one complaint is that we made our reservation for 6:15, but at 5:55, I received a text that my table was ready and would only be held for 10 minutes. That means our table would be given away if we didn't arrive 10 minutes BEFORE our reservation time. The pizza is fantastic. Which I kept saying to my party through bites of pizza. It is the crust that makes this pizza. It is a little sweet but not in a dessert way. It has the perfect chewy bite. I was impressed. I never eat pizza crust, not ever, but it was good enough that my dogs didn't get their usual crust treat. We tried 4 different pizzas and I would recommend any of them.

"Don't worry honey, it's okay to look, and also throw money at the half-naked women! I promise you won't get in trouble!" Uh-huh. ;) Alright, I digress. Awkwardness aside, Prohibition is a really great place to enjoy a classy dinner, where the meat is served on a place AND on stage, and the cheesecake comes with the price of admission! Speaking of admission, as my wife and I were guests, being shepherded along by our friend, I cannot recall exactly what the "cover charge" was (not much, if I remember correctly...less than $20 for two?), and if reservations are *required*, I cannot say for certain, but I would say they are *recommended* at the very least, because our showtime was packed. Anyway, once paid, you are escorted through a secret bookcase door (SLC residents sure do love their speakeasies, don't they?), and into the dining hall and saloon, where you're soon to have your socks knocked off...well, someone's clothes are coming off, anyway! We were given a table that I dismissively thought was tucked away pretty far in the back and out of the way, but it ended up being one of the best seats in the house, as the table where the performers gathered, prepped, and returned to was just adjacent to us, so we were about as up close and personal as you can get, without getting yourselves arrested. Each of the dancers brought their own style, flair, and wardrobe to their performances, which were spirited and energetic, and a touch racy, without devolving into outright debauchery. It may be an (18+? 21+?) venue, but alcohol restrictions aside, I wouldn't hesitate to take older, more mature teens to a show with similar content. We ordered a smattering of smaller dishes, as we weren't particularly hungry, but the Mishima Wagyu tacos were fantastic (as you would expect), as was the Fedora Fin (Za'atar-crusted ahi tuna), and all of our cocktails. As the show is timed event with multiple performances per night, both food and bev are fired out of the kitchen/bar faster than the bullets from a Tommy Gun, but with far better accuracy. The whole operation here was honestly very impressive, from start to finish. Coming from a progressive city like Portland, it's always struck me a little odd that places that, by reputation, strike you as more conservative end up having some of the best, most wild entertainment venues, that you only wish you had back home. Prohibition is one of these places that I would rather see in my downtown, instead of the litany of seedy strip joints pushing for maximum titilation, but with only a fraction of the class and sophistication. Prohibition is good, clean fun, masquerading as something illicit, which is the heart of what makes it work so well.

What else could anyone want? My boyfriend and I frequently come in for karaoke. They do karaoke Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. The karaoke DJs are really great and if you're new, they always go out of their way to get you in the line up fast. So don't hesitate to sign up if you see a big list! For all you know, it's the same regulars that have filled the whole list but the DJ would love to get a fresh face on the stage and you will most surely get bumped up the list. One of the benefits of having a real karaoke DJ and not using one of the online services. They're doing more and more poker tournaments. I want to say that it's Sunday but honestly, I would call and ask about it if you're interested because it seems like they add a new poker tournament every week. Wednesday night, they do $1 wings. You can split the wings among different flavors. It's a great night to come for a cheap meal. Also the draft steins are super cheap. I can't remember the actual price but they're less than $10, I want to say they're $7 or something. If you're looking for high point beer, I wouldn't go off the menu. I would ask the bartender what they have in stock. It frequently changes and its hard to keep the paper menu updated. I have literally never had a bad meal here. So it's a great value if you're in the area and just looking for some affordable bar food. They also have a really great brunch which I feel like is super underrated. I usually do their avocado toast and a beer. My only complaint? The pool table. Yes they have a pool table but it was such an after thought, you can barely make a shot because there's so many things in the way and the floor is uneven. I'm not a pool shark or anything so it's fine to me but I could see how a regular pool player might get annoyed. Honestly I feel like it's more entertaining to play on this comically arranged pool table. I've played pool in way smaller rooms with fewer impediments, lol. I thought long and hard about whether this place should be classified as a dive bar, and honestly, the quality of the menu makes me think it's not. I have never been to a dive bar with a vegan menu. I could see how walking in you might get that impression but they don't tolerate too much rowdiness. In fact, my loud friend who tends to yell when he drinks because he's been to too many metal shows and is hard of hearing couldn't get in. The bouncer said he was too drunk. They have a school pretty close by so the bouncers are pretty discerning. That said, this is one of the few bars where I feel really safe as a woman, and trust me, it's filled with thirsty guys who will happily pick you up.

They had lots of "bar" games like pool, darts, etc. And later the same night there was karaoke. What I did like is that they didn't have a problem splitting up the check for our table. They took our credit cards up front so they could keep a tab for each of us. However, the person who took our information and the person who took are order were not the same people. That in itself wasn't a problem, but when we went to order our actual food they could only find the information for one person in our party despite taking the credit card info for 3 of us. I am not really sure what the others in my group ordered, but I do know that I did NOT like what I ordered. First, it said on their Facebook page that the Wagyu burger was on special for the night, but they did not honor that. So, I decided on the rosemary garlic burger instead with a sub of onion rings instead of fries. Now... the burger looks delicious in the photo and it was juicy and the veggies nice and fresh. However, it did not taste good. It was an overwhelming flavor of rosemary and raw garlic and I did not enjoy it at all. Plus, my onion rings were burnt. Even my kiddo at home who eats most everything did not like this burger. My daughter ordered the Alamo brownie for dessert and it was supposed to come with caramel, chocolate sauce, and ice cream, but hers only came with chocolate sauce. The server may have been new and she said it came with a choice of one of those things and not all three. $10 for a brownie with chocolate sauce was robbery! The long and short of it, collectively we did not enjoy the food here and do not plan to come back again. There are too many other good bars with good food to waste our time and money here.
