I needed a key fob made quickly before I moved cross country. Sandy Springs Locksmith ordered me a new one, and had it in store within 2 business days. We ran into an apparently very rare issue where the buttons on the fob weren't going to work (my exact fob simply wasn't available anymore through distributors), but fortunately would still be usable to unlock/lock/and start the car. The issue was completely out of their control, but they did their best to give me the best outcome. They initially offered me a small discount, but after I pointed out the lack of expected functionality as well as the time I had spent waiting, they took care of me and offered a larger discount that I thought was completely fair, especially given how hard they had tried to make it work perfectly. They were more than willing to explain things to me and the reasons for the trouble, and I enjoyed chatting with them as they tried to make the best of it. If I had to complain about something, the employee that was helping me offered a very small discount initially which clearly wasn't enough to compensate for the lack of functionality/ 1.5 hrs I had spent waiting. Especially when I was told it would take 20 minutes. He told me he'd have to talk to his boss in order to do a larger discount. I opted for talking to the boss, but it would have been a better experience if he had said, "You know what, that's not enough, I'm going to talk to my boss and see if we can do better for you." I would have preferred that, instead of me having to push for a larger discount. That would have been a better customer experience. All in all though, it was a good experience with both sides making a fair compromise for an unexpected/rare situation. They're willing to work with you if you have problems, and seem to want to make sure you walk away with an overall positive experience. I'd gladly recommend them. read more

Great service - locks are not a place to cut corners in the interest of getting the lowest price. Rick was punctual for our appointment time and diligently worked his way through the many locks we were looking to have rekeyed. Some were in bad shape, so we needed to buy replacements and a second visit to get the job fully done. This place is horrible. At least the person in charge of the Safes. I came in looking for a small safe for my condo and was recommended the Gardall FB1212 2-Hour Fire-Resistant Combination Lock Home Safe. I was originally quoted $1100 for the safe. I look on Amazon in the safe is going for $1150 so I thought it was a good deal. The safe manger comes in and tells the sales rep that they will have to charge full retail on the safe $1250. I understand that they are not Amazon so I'm still all right with it. Then the safe manger says it will be a $300 delivery fee. Mind you I live 3 miles away and no stairs. That's when I had to walk away from the deal. Places like this just push the average consumer to shop with the monster retailers. read more

Appointment at 12:00 today, October 15, 2020. No show after 15 minutes. We call, and they say we'll call you back with a new estimated time. They never do. At 1:17 I call again ask where the locksmith is. They say he's still running late. That's obvious. I say we need someone pretty quick or I'll have to find someone else. We can't afford to sit around all day waiting on them. Then someone else gets on the phone to say they will reschedule. I say no cancel my appointment and I'll f..... At this point they simply hung up on me mid sentence. With "customer service" like that, I wouldn't want them in my home anyway. You can't keep your appointments, don't call the customer when you can't keep the appointments, then just hang up in a customer when they tell you to cancel the appointment because you don't show up. This is a fantastic lock smith place. I had two locks that I needed to be rekeyed to my house key and they were able to do it. Lowe and home depot could not. The store has a lot of lock and safe related items. The price for the rekey was good. I came on a Saturday and the lock smith with the rekey machine was on a call so I left the locks. I went to this locksmith recently to replace my broken remote key for my Scion...something every other locksmith told me I had to go to the dealership to do (which costs $350). While replacing the key the transponder chip broke (it was a poorly designed key from the manufacturer). So, naturally, I thought I was going to have to go to the dealership and shell out $350 for a replacement. Luckily the staff at Sandy Springs Locksmith were committed to making sure I left with a functioning key. They tried multiple solutions and finally got me out of there with a working key. These folks are fantastic and saved me a lot of money. I needed a replacement for my 2010 Honda Fit key - its housing had cracked and it was falling apart. The dealerships wanted $150 to replace it and re-program the electronics in it. Fortunately, I discovered that I could open up my key, pop out the electronics, and easily move them to another housing. I called around and this was the only shop that both had the key in stock and could cut it today. Even better, it was just $55 out the door (plus tax) - immensely cheaper than the dealership, and $20 cheaper than another locksmith I called. I was in and out in less than ten minutes. One of the worst customer experiences I have had. After keeping my broken lock for ONE MONTH they finally said they couldn't do anything and told me to come pick it up. This is after i called three times to check status and they said they hadn't even had a tech looked at it yet. If I hadn't kept calling they probably would have not give me an update. They should be embarrassed at this poor service, but on the contrary, on the phone their tone was "oh well". He was reliable, diligent and extremely serious about protecting our new home. He encountered a bee hive at one of the doors and was determined to even keep our family safe from the bees..... Knocking it down so that he could install the locks. He was so friendly that my son asked the next day "is Larry coming over today". He treated our family like family. A couple of weeks ago both of my car keys broke around the same time when I was trying to turn the car on. The key portion was coming out of the plastic case. I have a 2008 Toyota Camry. I love my car and I haven't really run into any major issues since I purchased it, so for both of my keys to break within days of each other was a little devastating. I contacted the dealership and they told me it was going to cost at least around $400 to replace both keys. I decided to do some research online and found that I could replace the casing for each key for around $6 each for the case with a blank key. I decided to buy one just to figure out just how easy it would be to do. When it arrived I was able to transfer the components from my old key into the new one but when I went on a search to find a place to cut the actual key that was when I ran into a struggle. I tried Home Depot, Walmart, and Ace Hardware. Ace Hardware was the one that finally recommended that I try this awesome locksmith. When I walked in I was greeted by the friendly gentlemen by the name of Bert and and Matt. When I told them my situation they quickly let me know they were able to fix it with no problem. They were able to cut the key for me in the matter of seconds. I was so ecstatic! When I went to my car to try the key , the car engine would not turn over. I went back in and brought the key and it turned out that there was a chip inside of my plastic casing for my old key and I didn't even realize it was there. Matt was able to get that chip out of my old key and place it to new one and there you have it. I was able to get the key replaced with a little work on my end for about $15! Can't even explain how satisfied I am with the service I received, the promptness of the resolution, and the amount of money that I was able to save thanks to them. Well at first I thought they would be good for our home security update, new locks for doors and windows, etc. It looks weeks and a few calls to get on the schedule, they showed up late, and worst of all forgot to finish the job. It has been two weeks of repeated calls and still no one will put us on the schedule. I spend nearly $2,000 and planned to do further work, but will no longer consider them. If you want to walk in and get a copy of a key great, you can do that anywhere, but if you need something more done I'd consider other shops. Update: 12/29/2016: This is the business I used, not some supposed imitator. As the owner suggests in his comments. It is a shame a company cannot "own up" and take responsibility. I was searching for a reputable locksmith in marietta, and I noticed there were a lot of ads for entities billing themselves as mobile locksmith's that either didn't have a business address, or if an address was listed it would be to an unrelated business such as a drug store or gas station. I ended up driving from Marietta to Sandy Springs to get additional keys made. Sandy Springs locksmith was able to cut mailbox keys that actually work, unlike two major hardware /home improvement stores that produced keysets that didn't work at all. I understand that there is another unaffiliated entity also using the name Sandy Springs Locksmith or something to that effect. Make sure to go to the guys off of Hammond road. My experince with Allen and Daniel was great. They were able to match a blank to what I was told was a propriety key blank by my mailbox manufacturer. read more
