Barrel chairs reupholstered by Sandy's Upholstry in Lake Travis.
    Karla M.

Robert and team did an amazing job on my inherited chairs! We've had these barrel chairs in the family since the 1940s. This is the best job I've had since inheriting them 40 years ago.

Not much response or interest. Direct questions not answered completely. Still looking for a more responsive business.

They were to recover an 100 year old antique chain with fabric from Calico. The chair was missing a wood wheel from one of the four casters and we explicitly discussed trying replace the wheel but do no remove the casters. The sister Anna agreed that removing the caster on such an old chair was not recommended. They picked up the chair and another item to be covered and we were told it would be 2-3 weeks for completion. After waiting for a month we called and were told they had someone quit and were delayed, at two months we were told COVID and other excuses and when we approached three months I told them I was coming to pick up the items and take them somewhere else and Anna said they were almost done. Another two weeks go by an finally they set a date for delivery. At first Anna apologized an offered a 15% discount for the 3 month delay, problem was she increased the total price by $100 and added a $40 delivery fee so the revised price was the same if not higher than the original. Play cards much? I was so done with these people and the lying I wrote a check to get them off my property but then noticed they removed the rear casters on my chair put felt pads to cover the holes and then put those caster on the front legs and cracked a leg. I called immediately and Adrian ( the brother) agreed he would cover the cost of a proper repair by another shop. We all agreed not to remove any casters and instead they remove all four, throw two away and fake the repair by putting the incorrect rear casters on the front leg. I am now taking the chair for proper repair to furniture care of texas and taking them to small claims for the repairs because they never answer the phone. Beware of people in business who never answer the phone and don't believe a word they tell you as they can't stick to the truth and make endless excuses. This chair has been in my family for over 50 years and is over 100 years old and they could care less that the broke the leg and screwed it all up. Many reviews have similar problems and I wish I had read them before entrusting them with such an important piece.

While he was in the hospital my 10 month old kitty got into his room & clawed his chair. Fortunately Lee came over and made those panels look like new!! I am going to have to clean the rest of the chair so that my roommate doesn't get suspicious when he comes home two weeks from now. The job took longer than expected but Lee stuck to his flat rate! Thank you Lee!!! You really saved the day! My elderly roommate would have been so distressed to come home to a damaged chair.

They all suggested to have the couch taken apart in order to fix which would be ~$500 or more. Not to mention having to take it from my home. Sent the same pics to Lee and he said he could hand sew it on site. His quote was a fraction of others (less than $100) so I jumped at it. Once he arrived the job took about an hour and was exactly as I hoped. Time will tell if it holds but if anything gives first it will be the cheap fabric the manufacturer used on the couch. The only ding I gave would be communication/timing. He did keep up with email but there were delays. And even on the day of the repair, there was a job that kept him longer but he wasn't able to communicate this in a timely manner. All in all though his work is good and Leather Fix Austin/Lee is definitely recommended.
