I actually went to the location on Edith St - same organization…read more Not sure what the purpose of this place is other than offering assistance for people with substance abuse problems as that is seemingly their only focus. I set up an appointment with this organization due to having no insurance at the time and was hoping to find low cost assistance for mental/emotional health... or possibly a referral to a doctor. I saw one individual at my first appointment who was very nice, professional, and qualified. He seemed like he would have been helpful to a certain extent so I set another appointment. The next two appointments were with a female employee. Not sure of her qualifications as she did not appear overly experienced. My assessment was not complete after the third appointment. There was no treatment plan set in place and I was not given a referral anywhere specific but a list of health centers for low income/no insurance groups (I had acquired insurance by that point). The issues I came in to address were not really addressed at all. This organization focuses on individuals with real substance abuse issues. I felt like the girl I was seeing was disorganized; she didn't have a plan and could not keep track of information. I was asked the same information more than once which was "noted" by her into a computer program. I felt like some of the information she asked to disclose was unnecessary as it was irrelevant to the reason of my being there. I feel like I wasted a month going to appointments and got nothing out of it. Luckily I was not asked to pay for their services. I was asked to come back for yet another appointment to finish my assessment and set "treatment" in place. The treatment seemed to be that I would be coming in twice a month to see the same person, not sure what for seeing that I don't think that she is a qualified therapist or psychiatrist. I will not be returning to this center and would not recommend it.
