We go there every time we visit Sanibel. Never disappoints!!! All lovely people and great services.

My mom and I had pedicures today. Both technicians were friendly but not skilled. My technician couldn't even use the clippers. Also she painted my nails first and then scrubbed my feet. Very strange. My mom's nails were smudged twice by the tech and she had to re-do them. The final mistake was the tech left the water running in the pedicure basin and it ran over onto the floor setting off alarms throughout the spa. Not recommended. read more

Took my daughter and her friend for a spa day and it didn't disappoint. The salt cave is a must do - even if it's just for time between appointments. It was extremely relaxing and stress relieving. The teens loved their facials and I enjoyed a much needed deep tissue massage. It's a local family owned business. read more

My husband and I went here for massages while on vacation in Captiva and had a great experience. They were able to get us in the next day for 2 separate appointments at the same time (not a couple's massage) - him for a Swedish massage and me for a deep tissue. I went to Sanibel Day Spa many years ago for a manicure and remember it being a nice spot. I returned for their signature facial and was very pleased with the result. Melissa was amazing and so accommodating to make sure everything was relaxing while also explaining the process throughout. I left with my skin feeling refreshed and clean. I highly recommend going to Sanibel Day Spa for some pampering on vacation or if you live in the area. For logistics you can call to make a reservation. My Mom and I enjoyed a blissful afternoon at Sanibel Day spa. I started with a reflexology treatment which was so calming and released a lot of the sinus congestion I was carrying. Sanibel Day Spa and Salon is located in a shopping and dining center on Sanibel. I'm a local and had never thought of driving out for a service but I'm so glad I did. I went for a keratin treatment, my first, and they had a spot available! The entrance was warm with a welcoming atmosphere. Check in was super easy and the woman was friendly. I had a couple minutes before "Rosie" started on me so I browsed the salon. There were lots of great salon and spa products with reasonable prices. They had items with CBD, essential oils, face products, skin products and hair stuff. I guess they do professional makeup applications too which might be good for weddings and events. The bathroom was extremely clean. It wasn't extremely busy and I felt comfortable (covid) with everyone spaced out and wearing masks. The keratin treatment used was Cliove which I had not heard of but again this was my first treatment. :) I left the salon with amazing shiney, straight, soft hair. It's been 2 weeks and my hair is still feeling this way!!  It is supposed to last for several months as long as I take care of it and refrain from using certain products. My hair has been more manageable, dries faster and I have to straighten it less. It also holds a curl well! I love it and will def go back to this salon and spa. read more

I went for a Brazilian wax, French manicure, express pedicure. The nail tech and esthetician were sooooo sweet and nice but both took FOREVER. Way longer and slower than at other places. I was getting impatient because they were moving slow. The manicure was not good - definitely do not get a French if you go here. They lady was older and had shaky hands and got nail polish all over my skin. The pedicure was not special. Not the best polish job but better than the manicure. A little unbelievable that they price the services so high. I was expecting WAAAAAY better quality services for the cost. I had a horrible gel manicure experience before and decided to give them another try. It's one of the only salons on the island and I will avoid nails and waxing moving forward. I scheduled an appointment for "fairy hair" or hair tinsel. I was originally told the price was $30. When the technician and I spoke, I did say I wanted more than just the normal 10 strands and that I wanted a bit more flair. The end result was $75 and a "partial head". I was fine with that until I got home and realized the strands were triple tied to my other hair strands. I couldn't even put my head on the pillow without feeling these hard extensions. I would have thought for the price they would have used the micro bead technique. It's been 3 days and nearly 40% of my fairy hair is gone in the trash; this is mainly due to the fact that it's knotted to singular strands of hair. If I had known this was the technique they used I would not have chosen this salon. My takeaway: if you want tinsel/fairy hair that will last - don't go to this salon. read more

This is our 2nd time at Sanibel Day Spa. This time around, was a birthday treat from my husband. We both went for The Steam Therapy and Massages. Front desk was nice and welcoming. Checked in and were led to a Spa Room where my husband and I waited for our masseuses. I had Jacqueline (misspelled apologies) who had the divine hands. And I mean that in every sense of the word. She made feel relaxed the entire time. Her genuine smile went far. My husband on the other hand, had Crystal and raved about her as well. In the end, we were extremely happy. My husband and I recently enjoyed a couples massage and facial at the Sanibel Day Spa. The staff was so professional and the services were superb. The facial treatment was relaxing and left our skin smooth and hydrated! Special perks during facial included hand warmers and foot massage. The couples massage was the perfect mixture of relaxation and release of knots. Private changing rooms adorned with robes, sandals and personal lockers were clean and easy to navigate. My sisters and I went for reflexology massages and were so impressed. I've had many of these massages in Chicago where we are from, so I wasn't sure what this massage would be like. I was looking forward to a relaxing day, so I made a reservation for a hot stone massage. When I met the massage therapist, I told her I had tight & sore shoulder muscles. But instead of listening to me, she gave me a "light touch" massage. When I reminded her to work on my shoulders, she said I should have scheduled a different kind of massage. I did not like Sanibel Day Spa at all. I've had many massages and have never experienced anything like this. I had gotten the "relaxing massage". The girl doing my massage spoke the whole time about her personal life. No offense but I was not getting my hair done, I was trying to relax. She was not gentle at all even though I told her my neck was really sensitive. I had to ask her to release some of the pressure several times. At the end it was very strange because she didn't even say she was done, she just left the room. For $100, I was not very impressed. I would not go back the next time I am in Sanibel. read more

The staff are very friendly, and the facility is nice - but it is more of a salon that offers massages than a day spa. Since this place is on my favorite Island in the world - they get 3 stars instead of the unfortunate 2 stars that I feel they deserve. The prices are really outlandish - even more expensive than nice spas in Los Angeles. A pedicure here is laughable at $50 for about 25 minutes worth of pedicure - and they don't even have massage chairs or whirl pools. I found the color selection to be great - and the ladies that did our pedicures were really lovely (but I agree with other Yelpers - a little too chatty. I came here wanting to catch up with my sister and we barely got in a word edgewise). I liked my pedicure far better than my massage, but that is unfortunately not saying much. I did love the butter cookies in the waiting room though. I am such a sucker for free food! :) My masseuse acted like she did not want to be there from the get go - and made me feel like an idiot for not knowing to lie ABOVE the sheet instead of BENEATH it. How dare I!! When she asked me what areas (if any) I would like her to concentrate on - I told her that my lower back had been sore recently. Ironically, she spent time everywhere but there. I loved the heated massage tables, and the relaxing sounds of the ocean - but I did not find my massage to be effectively relaxing. I was sore pretty much immediately afterwards and for the rest of the trip - and 50 minutes for $85 feels like over charging the tourists to me. I don't think my sister and I will rush back here when we come back to Sanibel - but I would not deter others from trying it out - I would just warn you that it is very overpriced for the services you receive. read more

I don't know how fair it is for me to write this review because I have never been to a spa before. I know, I know, but I was with a friend and she is a spa queen and treated me to a facial. At first I was taken back because the spa is on the second floor of a little strip mall. OK. Not really what I think of when I think of a spa. We walked into the reception which was connected to the hair salon. The women were very friendly and left us free to browse through the products offered for service and purchase as they checked us in. The spa is in a separate suite connected to the salon by a heavy door. Once in the spa waiting room, the outside noise disappeared. There was a water fountain and soothing music. My esthetician (thanks Yanny S. i original called it a facialist as i had no idea what they were called!) came out and escorted me to a small but very clean room. I only requested the basic service and she did offer me extended treatments but I did not feel pressured to purchase them. The facial was about 20 minutes and felt really nice. I would go back for another facial if I was in Sanibel again. read more

This was my second time, both times, on vacation to visit the Spa. Had a facial each time. The facial is fine but found for the price it lacking. No extra's are included--and are not even offered which I feel is lacking. Why not offer: eyebrow or nose hair trimming, after waxing upper lip-random hair plucking or extractions. These are my nails 2 days after having them done here. When we scheduled the appointment we said gel for both my mom and I. We got in and payed and the person at the register was very nice and sweet. Waited in the wait area not too long before my mom got called down, her nails are still fine and she was given exactly what she payed for, however for me I wasn't given gel (this is only my third time going to any nail place ever so i don't remember the steps they do for gel which is why i didn't say anything.) she painted my nails with regular polish and even she had quietly acknowledged mistakes she made. On the left thumbnail she messed up the polish. When my mom realized she hadn't painted with gel she said out loud and they refunded the $10, but even regular polish should last a week and not change colors. Plus within 3 hours of nails painted they chipped. Disappointed, especially because of the price. read more

In January, myself (Bride), my mother and my bridesmaids visited Sanibel Day Spa for wedding day pampering. I found Sanibel Day Spa using the Google Search and would have appreciated feedback from previous brides or clients before spending my time and money at their Spa on my Wedding Day. I want to publish our disappointment with the staff and atmosphere at Sanibel Day Spa. From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, we did not feel the staff cared about any of us. Their facility is a very impersonal place of business. Which is a shame, because I was actually very happy with my hair and make up. The problem was with the attitudes of the receptionists. When we first walked in to the spa, the two girls at the front desk failed to greet us, never said "hi", "how are you", "Oh! This is your special day, how exciting". Nothing. They were not friendly nor were they welcoming. My wedding was a destination wedding, which is becoming more and more popular. Many people will see my pictures and ask questions. Some brides-to-be may want recommendations on Sanibel Island. Then the questions starts. "Where did you get your hair and makeup done? Would you recommend Sanibel Day Spa"? We would NOT recommend Sanibel Day Spa. The bill for my mom and I was $248.00. That was very expensive, as all we had done was our hair and makeup. For $248.00 we should have walked out of there will smiles on our faces and feeling really good. But all we could talk about was how the Spa employees dampened our spirits for the prepping portion of my special day. I hope this Review will open their eyes enough so that they make an effort to make bridal parties feel special on their special day, whether it is a big bridal party or a small party. I have been visiting Sanibel Island every summer for over 20 years and Sanibel Day spa for over ten. This past summer, I thought it would be fun to treat my husband and myself to a treatment on our vacation. The scheduling and check in were fine, but the actual services left much to be desired. My gel manicure last approximately 20 minutes, no lotion or nail prep besides filing, and seemed like an extreme rush job to get another one of her customers in even though I had an appointment. My husbands 1 hour massage lasted under 50 minutes and he was not very impressed. I hate to leave bad reviews and even emailed the spa directly with our dismal experience. I received no response. They really need to step it up so that their services match the price points of a high end spa. read more
