Brought my mom here after a poor experience at another salon. She has a lady she goes to elsewhere, but she is out on maternity leave. She tried another business and was left with uneven and totally missed pieces. My mom does not visit salons normally. Just a quick in and out place. I was treating and took her here. Sanity has been open forever. The owner is fantastic, so the ladies who have been here a while I know are too. WOW! So , I went to get my Pixie cut cleaned up. I was able to book a Next-Day appointment. The staff greeted me nicely. Jennifer (I think she may go by Jenny, but I failed to confirm that.) came to my rescue. Lots of hair problems and she knew just what to do about it. I got my hair cut and chatted with Jennifer (sweetheart!). I left there down about $50 with a 25% tip. I didn't want to pay for her to style it. I put my hat back on and came home to style it. Colton doesn't just cut hair, he makes you feel absolutely beautiful by the time he is done. He advises and guides you to make sure your hair is healthy and beautiful. My hair was brittle and breaking. I wanted as much blonde highlights as possible. He had a game plan to get there so my hair would not get more damaged yet still gave me some highlights. His attention to detail was amazing! He suggested some moisture cream to bring my hair back to life. After two uses now, I feel like I have a new head of hair. I love it. STAY FAR AWAY FROM STYLIST MIRANDA (MJ) IF YOU ARE BLONDE!!! First of all I became a new mom within the year and wanted to feel good about myself instead got absolutely destroyed. I invested in hair extensions & being platinum blonde. My hair was already there just my roots grew back and Miranda couldn't get the color correct if her life depended on it. The purple hair is "going to wash out with time" Miranda says. Why the HELL should it be okay to leave with purple hair when that isn't what I asked for. I already had spent around 8-9 hours at the salon that day so I was just over sitting down in the chair at that point. Then my extensions looked soooooo fake & were sooooo heavy. She didn't install them correctly and I know that because I went and got 3 different opinions on my hair afterwards. She put FOUR wefts in my hair. Absolutely not necessary & damaging to my real hair. She put one so high on my head, doubled two in the middle & then put one super low on my head. Then she chopped up my extensions so much and my real hair. I got so many haircuts that day I can't even remember how many I got. My hair still was purple days and a week after my appointment so I came back to get it "fixed" and then it turned into that orange yellow color. Then I just left and was so pissed at that point. Like still can't get the color right. Then a few days after my appointment of "fixing" it my extensions started to come out and I called to get an emergency fix but she couldn't do it for me. Then the front desk lied to me on the phone saying Miranda was the only one that does extensions & when I spoke to the owner Maritza on the phone she clarified that Miranda isn't the only one that does extensions. I paid $1800 plus for a Sh** job. It's unreal! I ended up going to a new salon I found by luck & they helped me so much & I feel so good about myself now. My extensions look like my real hair & the new stylist I found fixed Miranda's work & got my extensions all right in way less time than I was in Miranda's chair & the new stylist got my color right the first time. That speaks volumes. Miranda thinks she is going to own her own salon. I laughed all the way home, you got some work to do because you screwed me over so bad & I hope you're proud. Then to top it off my mother goes to this salon & Miranda was trying to get answers and talk about me to my own mother! Then they'll refund you money and snatch it right back form your account! This was my first time at this salon and I definitely recommend it and will be coming back. It was very cute and clean and the girl I spoke to at the front was nice. My stylist, Taylor, was very nice and fun to talk to and gave me exactly what I asked for. I have trouble with hairstylists because they always seem to get scissor happy and cut off too much but she honestly did a great job and even gave me a round brush blowout after that! All in all, I had a great experience here and I definitely recommend Taylor. read more

I've been seeing Liza at Sanity for over 6 years now--that alone speaks to how great she is. The kicker: I moved from Surprise to Phoenix in 2018 and I *still* drive 45 minutes to see her. Aside from her great cuts and color, she's always going the extra mile looking for solutions for my color that don't irritate my sensitive scalp. She's really knowledgeable: she's the go-to color expert for all the other stylists in the salon. She's really friendly and the conversation is always great. She answers all the questions I have and gives me her honest opinions. The salon itself is good too. They're made some aesthetic improvements over the past couple of years and the salon looks nice! It was recommended by my hair stylist Liza that I make an appt with Mercedez right there at Sanity Salon for dermablading. I had my appt yesterday with her. I explained my lifelong skin sensitivities then she was very thorough in explaining exactly what she would be doing step by step. Little did I know I was not just getting facial hair removed but I would be getting my 1st facial. It was wonderful. I felt so relaxed during the entire process. Mercedez never tried to upsell me on skin care products. She spent a great deal of time after explaining what my skin type needs in the way of natural vitamins and minerals healthy foods. mercedez also recommended a little skin care trick for bath time. I saw Samantha (Sam) who did a great job with my hair and making me feel comfortable with someone new. I showed her pictures of my normal cut, as I had procrastinated on finding a new stylist and let my hair grow out. She was able to duplicate my cut while adding in some new layers that turned out great! I would highly recommend the salon, especially Sam! I am posting an update. The 3rd picture which is on Sanity Salons website is what I had asked for. After doing my hair Christa my stylist had said the color did not come out the way I wanted due to me dying it with box dye in the past so I accepted it seeing the picture with my hair curled thinking it would be fine. She had also told me that she ended up doing an express balayage instead of the partial highlight and informed me it was either $5 cheaper or $5 more. I went to go pay and it ended up being $20 more. I let it go since I was treating myself. I came home and washed my hair on day 2 after getting it done and thats when I realized my cut and my layers were very uneven and the "express balayage" was not even at all. I was pretty disappointed. I called the salon and they were very willing to have me come in and get it fixed which I was impressed with. I set my appointment up with Rosie. I went in and she did an express balayage to try to even things out and dyed the balayage red for an additional $25 but I wanted to ensure that the reddish color stayed in my hair and would turn out the way I wanted. Rosie said she tried to get most of the pieces to dye red but wasn't able to get them all because it was difficult to fix the work from Christa. After $200 and 6+ hours later in the salon I was disappointed to still come out of it with brassy pieces in my hair which would not have been their if it hadn't gotten messed up during the first salon visit. Rosie was pleasant and my hair doesn't look as horrible so I am giving this review 3 stars. The final picture is after 2 salon visits and you can clearly see the brassy pieces that are still there. I spent hours reading up on reviews on local hair Salons and was hoping this would be a pleasant experience. I think I will need to try someplace new. read more

I was really debating leaving a review since everyone was so nice but they did such a bad job worst experience of my life I came in with basically solid blonde crown on the top and the underneath of my hair was a virgin brown and I simply just wanted her to die the virgin part lighter I was going for like a honey blonde The already light blonde part of my hair just needed hair dye or toner since I was going darker so that part really should've been hard she did not foil the dark parts of my hair I don't know why she used cotton swabs she did NOT! put me under the dryer i've been doing my hair for 10 years I've never had anyone do that so of course the underneath of my hair came out horrible ugly orange color look like I did it myself and the already blonde part of my hair she turn gray ish blonde they styled my hair I quickly got out and paid since I had somewhere to be they were all giving me compliments like oh my God it came out so nice I think they were just saying that so I would think it looks good it was almost closing so there wasn't that much light I went straight to a party afterward it was then that I had so many people come to me and freak out tell me my hair is destroyed who did this what salon would let you walk out like this really laughing at my hair and I paid $300 for it. I have never had such a horrible experience getting my haircut. The stylist I was originally scheduled with was out sick so someone else took my appointment instead. She never introduced herself and was very rude when she explained that she didn't understand what I wanted. When I tried to explain she just said she had been cutting hair for 35 years and she knew what she was doing so I didn't have to explain anything to her. Throughout the haircut, I had to endure outdated and harmful views regarding autism and I should never have left the salon being so familiar with her political opinions. My haircut is probably technically good but nothing like the photo I showed her and I absolutely hate it. It will take months to grow back out. This is completely unacceptable for so many reasons! read more

Nah, I do not recommend at all. I've been there 5x in the last 2 years. It's walking distance from my house. I occasionally went there for the convenience and appt availability. I'm sure some of the other stylists are super and I just had back luck. The first time I took my daughter the lady was fabulous, unfortunately she is no longer there. After that on several occasions they did not do a style and blow dry, which is included I the price. They left my daughters hair damp. After I pointed it out, they did do it. Same thing happened to my son. I feel like some of the girls are hired right out of school. Management is very caring and will make things right. I do give 4 starts to them. read more
