I had been searching for a salon for a while, trying different ones here and there but never quite feeling like I connected with the stylist and for me, that is important. My hair is one of the first things people see so it just needs to look good, healthy and be relatively low maintenance as I just don't like to have to fuss with it too much. I finally turned to Yelp some months back to see what other locals recommended and discovered Champagne Images. Fantastically close and offering a huge range of services I am yet to take advantage of, but it is coming. Not only is everyone friendly and professional but Charissa (my stylist who gets 10 stars from me) is just fabulous! She gets me, she soooo gets me! My hair looks great, it doesn't take a lot of effort to maintain between visits and she listens to what I am asking for, making the end result just brilliant. I was nervous about going with a new stylist because I have naturally curly hair, but I felt at ease after she shared her years of experience. I showed her a couple of pictures of what I was looking for, and she seemed confident. The haircut took about 10 minutes, and I quickly realized she cut way too much hair. I wasn't sure how to feel but thought I would go home and style it myself. She did not blow it out. I was hoping that once home and styled, it would look better. Unfortunately, it didn't. I emailed the salon to express my dissatisfaction but never received a response or call. I have waited almost three weeks before writing this review, hoping the cut would grow on me, but it just seems to get worse. It's an uneven, choppy haircut. It's extremely short, and somehow the back is shorter than the front. I've even tried straightening it, but it doesn't look any better. This feels like a haircut you give someone you hate. I am horrified!! Yesterday, I asked for a BLUNT cut. Instead, she gave me a textured hair cut directly after I told her not to do that and that I wanted a blunt cut. My hair is thin and awful now. I have spent two days crying. This is going to take years to grow back. Additionally, the person who cut my hair did not even let me know she was about to cut my hair. She just started cutting without my knowledge. I also asked for only two inches and she took off almost six inches. I will not be going back. I have been traumatized. Also, when I told her manager. The person doing my hair lied to the manager and told her that I had agreed to that hair cut. She also lied and said she told me she was about to cut my hair when she hadn't. I can't stop crying. The biggest waste of time and money. I went in to inquire about extensions and ended up agreeing to go for it. I paid about $1,000 (which is average for human hair extensions especially since I had a bunch of them put in). I trusted my hairstylist into picking what was best for me since she's supposed to be experienced but I ended up SO disappointed. The texture of the hair (once I washed it and followed every instruction she gave me) was nowhere near close to mine. You could see where the extensions started and ended, people could notice. It was an absolute disaster. especially for spending THAT much money on them I expected something way better. Ended up going back to get them removed and they had the audacity to charge me full price for the removal when it was the stylist's mistake for putting the wrong extensions in my hair. I was so fed up and annoyed that i didn't argue it, paid, and never ever came back. What a joke. read more

I've visited twice & had bad experiences with 2 different girls, & 2 completely different types of visits. The first visit I got my makeup done. I asked for a natural, barely there makeup look. She redid it twice, & I still had to wipe it off when I got home; I looked like a raccoon/clown. She also did an updo for me. It looked nice, but nothing like the picture. I know this happens at most places, but I asked for a low, classy bun and got a high pony tail with a lot of curls. I showed her a picture, she just didn't do more than glance at it. I nicely asked her if she wanted to look at the picture again when she was doing it, and she said no thanks. I was too nice to tell her it was a suggestion I wish she would've taken. The second visit I got a perm. I had a consult & showed a picture of a wavy haired beach goddess. I said is this possible to do with a body wave? I don't want a tight perm, etc. She said yes, and told me she knew what I wanted. I expressed I didn't want to have ringlets or look like a poodle. Well, I came out looking like a poodle. I spent a lot of time talking with her before, during, and after at the actual appointment. The major issue was every time I brought up a concern, she waved them off. She did not listen to her customer and what her customer wanted. When I said "those rods are too small for what I'm looking for," or "there are dents in my hair," instead of figuring out how to fix, she continued rolling them and waved off my concerns. She repeatedly said "this is going to be great, I know exactly what you want." After the perm, I expressed to her my concerns were valid because she did exactly what I asked her not to do to my hair. I asked for wavy, and she gave me curly. Afterwards, she told me they were "the same thing." She rolled the perm rods so poorly too, so I had dents all over my hair from the band. She told me they would go away when I washed it. I have had perms before, they don't go away, you permanently changed the shape of my hair to create these dents. So she either lied to me, or she had no idea what she was doing. I was completely calm but very clear with her I didn't want this and this is what I was explaining the entire time she was doing it, that I wanted to avoid. It would've been prevented had she not brushed me off every time I had a concern. She knew I was unhappy, so she said she'd call me in a couple of days. I planned to tell her the "dents" she promised would go away, were still there. The cherry on top is whenever my hair is wet it smells like perm solution underneath, which means she washed the top out great but forgot to thoroughly wash the underneath. And to boot, she never called me. I was waiting on her call so I could give her a chance to rectify it or refund me some of my money, etc. Since she never called, I decided to leave a review instead to help others make their decision about this place. read more

I'm new to The Valley so there are a few important resources to narrow down; best deals in groceries, good places to eat out at because the majority of my meals are homemade, good place to get my nails done, and the question many women ask themselves when on new turf...Who can I trust with my mane? Now, I understand not all women care about their hair to the extent of getting it done by a professional, chances are you do and that's why you're reading this so let me give you my insight on what I have determined to be "my" new hair salon. Champagne Images (CI). I must say that finding the location would have been a bit tricky if I hadn't been looking for the façade and noticed a sign facing the street that read "SALON" in big red letters. I knew I had found the spot. I walked in, as a few customers were walking out, two men and a woman. A good sign to me because I knew they had professionals capable of making both genders feel comfortable with their services. Plus, all three looked pretty content and their hair had that look that you can only get when a pro has a hand in it! I was a few minutes early for my consultation so I had a chance to check out the products the salon sells. First, I must say that if you go on the Redken website CI is listed as a "Club 5th Ave. Elite Salon". Meaning they only carry Redken products and has the highest expertise in Redken services. That to me translated into two thoughts; 1) these people know their craft when it comes to color and cuts and 2) it's going to be expensive. I was correct on the former, but not the latter. My hair stylist was Cicely (pronounced just like Italian province) Salvador. As she walked up to meet me for the first time, she was warm, happy, and had a positive way about her. She gave me a brief overview of the various stations/services they offer; hair cuts, styling, color, relaxers, perms, nail services, massages, makeovers (they carry Bare Escentuals), permanent make-up, facials, hair removal, as well as miscellaneous services like lash tinting. Needless to say, they deal with all things beauty. If you want to know more details and prices, check out the website or give them a call. Back to my experience, we had a discussion about my hair its current state and what I wanted my end result to be. After a few minutes, we concluded on a haircut, new style, highlights, with a gloss finish. Mind you, this was not going to be just any hair cut, my hair was about to be a length so short, I had never experienced. As I type this, I am sporting new shoulder-length tresses! This is key, had I not had the impression that Cicely knew what she was doing, I would NEVER have allowed her to cut the majority of my hair off. That is how much I trusted her skills based on our chat, she cared about how I felt about my hair as much as I did. This was not a gamble, that's how well we met in the middle. Which, Ladies, tell me you haven't encountered stylist that are "hearing" you, but not "listening"! Plus, I wanted a whole other color and she could have done it and charged me an arm and a leg for the service, but she advised we go one step at a time. Ahh...an honest person. By the time we were done, my excitement grew rather than the separation anxiety at the loss of my hair. My new "do" looked good and I felt great! Oh, and to boot, she didn't try pushing all the products they feature as many stylist do, but she did tell me what she used so that I could recreate it at home. In fact, I scheduled my next appointment before leaving. :O) Cicely is an excellent stylist, easy to banter with, and very reasonable in terms of what she charges. Champagne Images is listed as a Club 5th Ave. Salon on Redken.com which means they specialize in Redken products and have specific standards and training from Redken. My experience at CI was excellent. They were courteous and professional. My stylist, Karen, did a great job on my hair. I even received a 10% discount because it was the month of my birthday. I've been going to Cicely at Champagne Images for almost 3 years now and have never been disappointed. Cicely is very knowledgable about color and I love that it is important to her that she continues educating herself with the "latest and greatest" products available. She is consistent with my cuts and always knows exactly what hair products will work best for my hair. The esthetician, Kathryn, knows her stuff and gives a GREAT facial! She used the Pevonia line on me, which I love! I bought several products, but never felt like I was being pressured to buy anything. And a few days after my appointment, she called me to find out if I had any questions...great customer service. The staff is professional and very accommodating. If I didn't have to post 1star in order to post my comment, I would have choose NO STARS! This salon is awful! It changed hands and was bought by the new owner a couple years ago and has went downhill ever since. My daughter and I hv been going there for a few years and the last two years was a nightmare. They are not extension specialists, the hair they use is awful and such poor quality, we had several horrible sets and the extensions they use ruins and destroys your hair. The owner is horrible to deal with, never offers to make it right on her own, and everything in that salon is about the almighty dollar with high pressure sales techniques so their employees can meet their quotas that they each have. They do not stay up to date on new styles and trends and our stylist refused to do anything different such as grey/silver color, an A line cut or ombré color. We finally had enough and left that salon last nov. 2016, after spending nearly $10,000.00 in that calendar year, in this salon. I've spent approx $40,000 with this salon since I've been going there and They don't care about their clients since this new management took over. My new hair stylist was appalled at what this salon has done to mine and my daughters hair. That's alright I'll take my next $40,000 to my new salon in Scottsdale. read more
