I've known my dentist, Dr. Sanjay Doshi, for nearly 30 years, as he was my mom's dentist for over 25 years and he's been my dentist for the past couple of years. In May of 2025, I received a diagnosis of a highly aggressive, highly metastatic head & neck cancer, of the tonsil, over nine lymph nodes and base of tongue. This type of oropharyngeal cancer threw me into a club that no one should ever be a part of. I was told that without immediate, intensive radiation and chemo (requiring extensive other treatment radiation dentistry), it was terminal. I was given weeks to months. The condition was serious. And time wasn't on my side. After being assessed by my oncology team, I was informed I required the highest level of radiation a patient could be given (70), all the way around my neck, and that I would potentially have dental decay, lose some or all of my teeth have jaw bone decay or even jaw death. My physicians and specialists, including Dr. Doshi, were surprised about my diagnosis. But Dr. Doshi was always confident, from the very start, that I'd get through this, though time was not on my side. He gave me hope from the very start that I would not only survive, but that I would come through this on the other side, and thrive. Thankfully, he was right. Dr. Doshi immediately took me under his dental care, for radiation dentistry, immediately contacted my radiation oncologist, coordinated with him, and began to prep me for radiation (radiation of this nature should never begin until all dental decay and pending dental issues have been addressed). This involved a great deal of work. I never felt overwhelmed about the dentistry, as Doshi took care to keep me safe while working at warp speed to expedite my dental care needs, so that I could quickly begin my treatments. In one month, Dr Doshi did a year's worth of dental work, and he instantly became the a key figure in my cancer care team. Or as I call them, my dream team. He handled my imaging, testing, exams, x-rays, 3 necessary root canals, he had necessary custom fitted, upper and lower radiation guards made (to protect my teeth and gums from radiation during radiation), and a custom fitted, upper and lower fluoride trays, for my daily care, post radiation and chemo. He worked with precision and speed, to ensure I went into my cancer treatments healthy and strong. I went into my treatments with no dental issues or oral infections. It was a brutal cancer treatment. Only someone who's been through this level and type of treatment can truly know how brutal, but I made it through. Thankfully, I am in remission. With a less than 5% chance of recurrence. Radiation to the neck and head can seriously compromise one's dental health, in the short term and long term, so radiation dentistry is necessary before and indefinitely after such an intensive cancer treatment. So I will continue to see Dr. Doshi, moving forward, for closer care - involving more frequent cleanings, more frequent dental exams, and laser gum therapy - to minimize the chances of greater dental damage down the line. He's gone above and beyond in ensuring my dental health is tended to so that my quality of life can be improved upon and hopefully maintained for the remainder of my years. And simultaneously, Thanks to Dr. Doshi, 7 months after cancer treatment ended, I've not lost a single tooth, while other patients reported loss of many or all teeth. I hope to spare my teeth for the long run. read more

I took my mother here for a consultation after seeing so many glowing Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite. During the consultation, he recommended extracting all of my mother's teeth. After reading other reviews afterward, I was surprised to see similar experiences described by other patients. That raised concerns for me because it seemed to be a recurring theme. The consultation itself was also very unpleasant. While I was quietly looking at my phone researching other dentists, his demeanor became rude, condescending, and unprofessional. We were so uncomfortable that we walked out before the consultation was even finished. One thing I also noticed is that many of the negative reviews seem to receive responses disputing or denying the reviewers' experiences. If he responds to this review by claiming he doesn't recommend full-mouth extractions, I can only speak to what happened during our consultation: that is exactly what he recommended for my mother. Another thing that struck me as unusual was that he appeared to have no office staff. He answered the phone himself, scheduled the appointment himself, and handled everything personally. At first, I thought that level of involvement was a nice personal touch. After our experience, however, it left me questioning the practice. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this office. I strongly encourage anyone considering major dental work, especially something as significant as extracting all of their teeth, to get one or even two additional opinions before moving forward. read more

I had been going to Dr Doshi for a long while, and I even referred co-workers and family to him. In 2022 I went to Dr. Doshi for some regular dental maintenance and wanted to get Invisalign. In Dr Doshi office I had the 3D scan twice, and never received them. However, in November 2022 my insurance mailed me a check for $5,500 (not exact amount by over that). I text Dr Doshi directly to inform, and he stated that would cover Invisalign. I did not have dental work that cost of $5,500. Here we are 2026 no Invisalign, and I have been ghosted by Dr. Doshi. I don't think I have ever left a review for a dentist - but Dr. Doshi is different. We were looking for a dentist that could help my wife with her severe dental anxiety. She needs to be fully sedated in order for any dental work to occur. We consulted with Dr. Doshi in person (he insisted on this) and my wife immediately felt calm and reassured with him. She needed several crowns and inlays for the first series of sessions - those were all completed in a timely manner and in the most professional manner I have ever seen from a Dentist. Dr. Doshi's assistants are incredible as well - they are like a Formula 1 pit crew - I have never seen anything like this - they are a team and are all coordinated ( synchronized dentistry ? ). If you have anxiety about dental x-rays and scans - they will get it done so fast you won't even realize it happened - and in a very caring manner. Dr. Doshi himself is an extreme professional and explains everything in great detail - something that is appreciated. He is very conservative in his approach and will not do anything just to do it - he observes and then does the work - if needed. His follow up is also incredible - he will text you and call you multiple times after a procedure - something unheard of these days - when is the last time your dentist called or texted you after a procedure - never, right? We were super impressed with Dr. Doshi and his team - he will be our dentist for as long as he is in practice and we highly, highly recommend his services to anyone that has any sort of dental anxiety or just wants the best dentist out there. read more

Do not, I repeat DO NOT trust this dentist. I had a decent smile and Dr. Doshi talked me into putting crowns on eight of my top front teeth so that I would have a perfect Hollywood smile and stated that the work could possibly last 30 years and so I went for it but less than two years after I had the work done the crown work broke into pieces. I then went to see him about the situation and all he had to say about the matter was that for $13,000 he would fix it. The bottom line is that if you want a dentist that absolutely will not stand behind his work and will totally disregard anything and everything he told you before you had the work done, well he's your man. So my advice to anyone looking for a dentist would be to go anywhere except for this guy or have your lawyer draw up a contract for him to sign stating that he will stand behind his work. I was told my work could last as much as 30 years and honestly I would have been OK with 5 to 8 years however less than two years is pathetic don't you think. I first had a consult with Dr Doshi in January of this year for a number of cosmetic and dental health concerns I had been putting off for far too long. He took the time to do a thorough examination, listen to my concerns, and collaborate with me on a treatment plan that would get me looking and feeling great for the long term. After meeting with him, I felt confident he and his team would be right for the job and help me get comfortable with smiling again. I agreed to the proposed treatment plan and we promptly got started. Over the course of this year, I have had a number of procedures done at his office. These included root canals with Dr Sheabar, gum procedures with Dr Hamedi, and bridge/veneers done with Dr Doshi. Each one of these specialists always checked in to make sure I was comfortable throughout each procedure. Believe it or not, I had less pain during each of these procedures than I have had with dental cleanings at other offices! They all did a fantastic job, and it is clear each of these folks have passion for their work. I also appreciate how easy it is to communicate with Dr Doshi. He is a great listener, and really takes the time to explain the "why" behind each treatment. He frequently checked in with me over text after any procedures to make sure everything went well. He also responded promptly to any concerns/issues that I brought up via text, even on weekends! I have never received that kind of attentiveness and service from other dentists before. Truly a step above. The other members of his team also deserve praise in their work. From the hygienist (and soon to be DMD!) Jarrad, the dental assistant Lucy in the back office, and the interns Myhanh, Callandra, and Cynthia...everyone was friendly, attentive, and professional. At the time of this review, my treatment plan has nearly been completed. It's been a process, but I am learning how to smile normally again! Could he really be *that* good? Well, here I am, adding my own 5 star review to the pile. Dr. Doshi and his staff are THE BEST I've ever come across. What makes him special? The Dr. answering his own phone and setting up appointments like it's no big deal. Who even does that anymore? That old-school personal vibe you just don't get these days, and it's just the start of why he's so great. Dr. Doshi is EVERYTHING you'd hope for in a dentist, patient, caring, honest, and understanding. He takes the time to explain things without rushing you out the door, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his patients. He explains stuff so well I almost felt smart enough to fix my own teeth (spoiler: I'm not). His staff? Just incredible, always friendly and welcoming. I met Dr. Doshi about 1 year ago, after not being to any dentist for about 20 years. Dr. Doshi took his time getting to know me, my anxieties, and needs before even taking xrays or looking inside my mouth. He has ensured that I am part of my treatment plan and I understand each step as we complete it. He finds the best way to use my insurance budget so I have the least amount to pay out of pocket. At my last appointment (Jan 2025), we had to wake me up mid procedure, enough that I was uncomfortable. I needed teeth cleaning before the year ends and I found Dr. Doshi on Yelp. He answers phone calls and books appointments himself, which is a nice change of pace in the dental industry. He knew my reasoning for the office visit especially after the extensive application so he booked me to come in twice: first for the X-rays and the second for cleaning and periodontal consultation. Periodontal treatment is recommended; he said I could wait until next year to take care of that. However, when I went to my second appointment and declined any periodontal treatment and requested for cleaning only, he canceled my appointment. He told me it's miscommunication on my end. I felt it was unfair because when making the second appointment we discussed the deep cleaning service which would require numbing. I also expressed my concern about it because I never had to get any numbing done for my bi-annual teeth cleaning at any dental offices but I accepted the appointment anyway because I trusted Dr. Doshi. I actually thought he'd be my go-to dentist for general dentistry and orthodontics. It's disappointing and upsetting to me how much time I've wasted trying to get teeth cleaning done at this dental office when I could've gone somewhere else where I could get X-rays and cleaning both done in one day!!! read more

Top tier dentistry ! Prior to finding Dr. Doshi, I was struggling with constant pain that other dental offices were not able to get to the center of. However, Dr. Doshi opened up the world of proper care to me by having all services (dental hygienist, endodontist, etc) included in his office. Also the availability he has is top tier as he schedules appointments himself and based on your necessity. Through it all he even keeps in contact with you via text so you are always able to report if you have any concerns, etc. Not only has he been treating me for the past year, but he has also been treating my husband and recently my 4 year old daughter. I have left a review back in 2021, but I figured it was time for an updated version. Dr. Doshi has always been highly meticulous with my dental treatments. I have been going to him for several years now, and I have never left his office feeling defeated or anxious. This time around I needed a crown, and I have felt reassured throughout the entire process. Though I still get mild anxiety from time to time, the procedure itself is never scarier than the anxiety. Again, anesthesia is incredibly painless when administered by Dr. Doshi. And the crown process was not bad at all. Just make sure to listen to his instructions to avoid future complications. Where to begin! I'm 27 years old and have had lifelong dental anxiety/phobia, to the point that after 18 I stopped making dental appointments for myself. Then I found out issues with your teeth can cause a host of other health issues...and I didn't want heart problems just because I was too scared to have my teeth cleaned. So, I did some research on dentists who specialize in handling patients with these anxieties and found Dr. Doshi. I did not think it was possible for a dentist to be kind and compassionate, nor for a hygienist to have such a calming disposition. Both of those seemed out of the realm of possibility for me. Yet here I was, in his office, sitting in the chair, NOT crying, not hyperventilating, and with no impending sense of doom looming in my mind. Please, take charge of your health (mental and physical), be an advocate for yourself. Dr. Doshi listened to my story and my trauma surrounding dental work with so much compassion and empathy that I didn't know could be had. During the actual appointments, people regularly "checked in" with me and let me catch my breath if I started to get panicky. No blaming, no shaming. Just dental care with compassion. This is a long overdue review. I've had a very traumatic experience with the dentist since I was a kid and that carried over as an adult until I needed painful work done to fix my teeth. In the past, I'd rather feel my broken and decayed tooth for months than go to a dentist. But I can finally say I've found a dentist I can trust and actually look forward to seeing. Dr. Doshi has been the most patient, knowledgeable, sincere, advanced, and passionate dentist. He really takes his time in explaining procedures and most of all, he is honest and transparent with the work. He will even tell you if he thinks you don't need certain procedures.  Some background: I have 2 dental implants right next to each other on my right bottom molars from another dentist. 1 of the areas was always painful and infected, it got so bad that my lymph nodes were swollen and in pain. When I went to my prior dentist, they would tell me that it was just food getting caught in between my gums and shouldn't be any issue beyond that. They would just clean the teeth and let me go about my day. I went back with the same problem 3 times and kept getting the cleaning and was prescribed antibiotics. In July of 2022, I just couldn't take the pain anymore. I was at Santa Monica Pier and had to just sit in the car to search for a new dentist that could help me. I saw Dr. Doshi on Yelp, with 5 stars and thought I should give it a try. I called the office, and he was able to assist me in getting my appointment set up. I set up the appointment only 3 days later! The onboarding process was simple and completely digital. Dr. Doshi makes communication so easy and seamless through text. His online portal where you input all your medical information is the most convenient. You don't have to walk in the office and fill 15 papers worth of documents with a pen and paper. On my appointment date, we took x-rays, he took a look at the site and recommended treatment with care and thoughtfulness. It's really hard to find a dentist that really cares and is honest about the work. I had to do some bone grafting by Dr. Hamedi and he was amazing as well! 45 minute procedure with no uncomfortableness, swelling, or major bleeding. Dr Doshi then takes his time to follow up with the progress and will make sure to answer any questions you have. Seriously, I ask a lot of questions. I'm that annoying patient who will ask a list of questions to ease my anxiety on a procedure that I know I have to do anyway. But Dr. Doshi has the patience of an angel! I highly recommend Dr. Doshi to anyone who has any concerns with their teeth. I wish he was my first dentist, maybe I wouldn't have a domino effect of issues on my teeth now. I am so lucky and grateful to have found Dr Doshi this past spring. I had avoided going to the dentist for a really long time, and was struggling with periodontal disease. Dr Doshi and I had an initial phone consultation to assess where I was in my search for some help. With his expert , caring guidance, we arranged a date for me to have full extractions and temporary dentures the same day. Earlier this year my mom's tooth fell off her top denture my mom is 90 years old. We usually go to ucla school of dentistry but because it's too far I googled and I found Dr Doshi online u called him Monday morning and explained my situation with my mom he suggested I either take the denture to him or take my mom to him. He saw us tht afternoon he quickly examined her and told us that he can replace the tooth on her denture and have it ready the following day. I quickly thought there's no way he can have that done but he called the next day to notify me that the denture would be in at 2pm we made an appointment and he saw he he repaired the old denture and my mom was happy. He then suggested my mom needs permanent bridges on both sides I thought no way will he do this for her after a few appointments and impressions he did come thru my mom was happy . He then took an impression for her top denture and he had that done in a timely matter for my mom. My mom is extremely happy with him she's loving her permanent partials and her new dentures. If anyone is in search of a new primary dentist I recommend Dr.Doshi. I was in need of a new primary dentist and second opinion for TMJ pain. I reached out and he actually answered the call himself. We discussed my concerns and he's always available by email or text for any questions. He took his time explaining my treatment plan and insurance. we came up with a plan to treat my general care and most importantly he let me know the TMJ can be treated with a night retainer that my insurance will cover! His staff is attentive and caring i wish I would've got their names . He even gave me a prescription for a new toothpaste to help my sensitive gums and teeth.
