Dr. Chung is the BEST. My little one needed a lot of work, many cavities, so I scheduled a much needed appointment. Not surprised, they were fully booked. I explained to the staff that she might need to be seen sooner. Marisol was amazing at informing me of when a cancellation occurred and squeezed us in. The staff were not only extremely professional and knowledgeable but super nice. My little one was apprehensive, but Dr. Chung's expertise with kids proved to be effective. His patience and care put her at ease even through some rather difficult procedures. In the consult, Dr. Chung takes time to explain everything, including options. Let's us know what is necessary, what could happen and what is best case scenario. He puts into consideration the comfort of the patient as well. I'm a widow, only parent here, and I was completely confident that Dr. Chung would provide the best top notch care, and not have to worry about unnecessary treatments. Been going to Dr Chung for 10+ years, best dentist I ever had. Never do unnecessary procedures, clear in his explanation, and very skilled.

I needed a full exam and cleaning done so I decided to go to Dr. Chung based on his great reviews. The staff was able to get me an appointment the following week and verified my insurance to see the full coverage. The building is nice and the office is tidy, however the technology is outdated. Due to my previous experience from other dental offices, I was expecting more than just tartar removal and brushing. I didn't receive flossing, polishing and fluoride treatment (I look forward to this one the most because I have sensitive teeth). They also didn't provide a mini kit of toothbrush and floss! Although the appointment was quick, the location was convenient, and the staff had amazing bedside manner, I won't be returning. read more

I had to return to Dr Chung to have some old discolored fillings on my front teeth replaced. If you've ever had to have a shot of novacaine above your 2 front teeth you know how painful it is. Dr Chung took 12 minutes to numb me and I felt NO pain whatsoever. He is SO gentle! The best dentist I have ever seen so far! Very in detail, I respect his hard work. I have tried 4-5 difference places for kid's dental just for regular check-ups and cleaning for my daugther, and only one place was good but later I realize it is wayyyy expensive. There is no point to spent that much no matter how good they are. Dr. Chung and his staff are truly excellent. Called on a Friday morning to try to get my dad seen because his crown had fallen off. My dad has never been to this practice before, I just picked it based on good reviews. Dr. Chung was fully booked but the receptionist who took my call was really kind and told me she would check for any cancellations. Fast forward to 5pm that evening.. I had already booked my dad with another dentist the next week because everyone was otherwise full. Well Dr. Chung called me personally because he received the message about my dad. I was surprised the receptionist cared enough to pass on my message to the actual dentist. And even more surprised Dr. Chung called me after a full work day. Well long story short, Dr. Chung saw my dad at 6pm after the office was technically closed, fixed his crown and only charged him $100 (my dad has no insurance). This is a truly upstanding doctor who really cares about people. Dr. Chung had no obligation to help my dad, because he was not an established patient.. yet he still went out of his way on a late Friday rather than going home to enjoy his weekend. My older dentist retired, and I'll admit that I was scared to find another one. I even tried a more popular DB dentist before I came to Dr. Chung. I found the other dentist was too aggressive, too business-like, and too eager to tell me what was wrong with the previous Dr.'s. worth (I won't go into it, but he even found a "cavity" that Dr. Chung never saw). I came to Dr. PR Chung (near Hmart) because my friend said that his assistant was super helpful when he suffered an emergency root canal and that that the dentist was kind. And that all proved to be true. Dr. Chung didn't talk too much, which I liked, and he didn't scold me about flossing or tell me that I should straighten my teeth. I found him to be very realistic. Since then, he's taken very good care of my mother, who has had more serious dental/jaw problems. Dr. Chung was extremely friendly, explained what the options were and worked quickly. As a new patient they were able to confirm my insurance and get my information completed very easily. this dentist is really by far the best one I experienced in life , SupER Clean inside office , they never try to upsell me from any visits, I feel very comfortable with the equipments they have vs others I experienced from the pass, they have multiple assistants simultaneously even during teeth cleaning vs just one person that I notice, you have to schedule ahead of time , they have a long wait for a reason. read more

I've had 2 types of work performed by Dr Chung recently. The first was for routine cleaning, which went painlessly and quickly, and yet he still did a thorough job. Unfortunately during this exam, Dr Chung found that my old crown developed a serious problem. So I went back for a second visit to remove the crown, get a temporary crown, and finally after 2 weeks, put on the new crown. Again, everything went smoothly. Dr Chung suggested that he numb only the tooth that he was working on instead of the entire quadrant. I'm so glad he suggested that, as the recovery period was much more comfortable, and I could start eating almost right away. read more

As a child, I ate so much candy that my first set of teeth were so bad that I had to go to the dentist all the time. Needless to say, it was traumatic! When my adult teeth came in, I tried my best to avoid getting too many cavities by brushing as best as I possibly could. I think I did a decent job because I rarely got cavities since childhood and therefore avoided the dentist as much as possible. Fast forward to my 40s and now I am finally getting over that childhood trauma! The best thing about having been to the dentist so many times as a young person is that I am pretty familiar with the qualities that make up a good dentist. With all of the that said, I am so lucky and grateful to have met Dr. Peter Chung who has been looking after my teeth since last summer with the greatest care and professionalism! I had some fillings done this week to cover up some excessive toothbrushing gaps I myself caused and Dr. Chung filled them up with ease! With the new location and sparkling facility, Dr Chung's office is getting as good as it gets! If you're pulling into the plaza (H-Mart), look to your right towards KFC and the Dentistry sign on the business building; office is located inside on the first floor. Everyone hates going to the dentist, but it's a must if you don't want your teeth to rot! All the staff here in Dr Chung's office is pleasant and Loretta (receptionist) couldn't be sweeter! And as for Dr. Chung himself, he is really super! I never felt rushed or in too much discomfort from any of my exams. Even with my root canal, it wasn't too bad and that's saying a lot! Dr. Chung's office is closed every Thursday and Sunday and they stay open late on Wednesday. Insurance (PPO) and cash is accepted. This was my second time coming in to Dr.Chung's office and things went smoothly as usual. Went in to get my teeth checked out after feeling some soreness whenever I ate. Dr.Chung did an amazing job in explaining in detail what was going on and it turned out that I had a wisdom tooth pushing against my molars that caused the pain. I thought I had a cavity but luckily Dr.Chung was there to advise me in getting the wisdom tooth removed to stop the pain. He is very patient and eager to tell you everything you need to know about your needs and providing the best solution possible. You can tell that he is very passionate in what he does and is willing to help everyone in the best way he can. I came in before to get my first wisdom tooth out and the whole process from X-Ray to extraction took less than 15 minutes without having any issues along the way. Easy and painless and I was eating soft foods an hour later without having to starve myself the whole day. His staff are all very nice and welcoming which helps in calming any nerves you may have coming in. Normally, I have issues when it comes to dentists because they're usually inconsiderate or just looking for ways to charge you for things you have no knowledge about. Having said that Dr. Chung is genuine and so good at what he does. I usually don't have to wait long for my appointment and he is always honest about how my teeth are and what I need to do for them. The cleaning is super quick and the only dentist I've been to where its as painless as it could be with him doing the cleaning. I almost don't want to write this review for selfish reasons.... but I will because Dr. Chung has been my dentist for the past 20 years and everyone deserves to know that he is the world's best dentist. Never mind that I used to be able to schedule an appointment a couple days in advance or even on the very day I called. Never mind that if Dr. Chung found something that needed fixing, he would usually be able to work on my teeth that same day. Those days are long gone as the secret is out! The earliest appointment they had available when I called was a month away... WHAT?! I hate the dentist. Who are we kidding? Everyone hates the dentist. They bring nothing but pain. Despite my fear of going to the dentist, when I realize that Dr. Chung will be handling my teeth, I relax a little. He has that affect on people. He is extremely friendly, realistic, and as gentle as a dentist can be. He is honest. I've been his patient for a while now, and I can safely say that he is passionate and is not money-driven. He will never advise you for his financial gain. As much as I hate to say this.... he is the best. You will never regret going to him for your dental needs. After my first visit here with Dr Peter Chung, I left feeling just very pleased and happy to have found a very personable dentist that didn't make me feel like I was being pushed to do all sorts of different procedures. Instead Dr Chung made me feel very relaxed and helped me to see what positive actions I've done to keep my teeth healthy and recommended certain other things like brushing my teeth with less pressure in order to keep my gums from receding. Even during the appointment when I had a deep cleaning done with a cavity filled, Dr Chung was very gentle, so gentle I actually didn't feel any pain what so ever! Quite honestly I've had a big aversion towards dentist because of some bad experiences, but after meeting Dr Chung, I really don't feel that aversion anymore. I was searching for a new dentist so I decided to use Yelp. I searched for a dentist near by where I live, found Dr. Chung and decided to give him a try based on the good reviews. Well, they were right on! The building where he is located in is covenant and clean. Loretta the receptionist is very sweet! She is easy to talk to, very clear and friendly. I got x-rays taken by the assistant who was also very nice and friendly! After that was done I met Dr. Chung who too was very polite and friendly. He reviewed my x-rays and examined my teeth. He found only 2 small cavities! I was surprised because I haven't been to the dentist in 3-4 years. He also recommended deep cleaning and to take out one of my impacted wisdom teeth. Now note this was my first time getting all 3 procedures done. I've never had fillings from what I could remember, deep cleaning or any wisdom teeth taken out. I was really nervous but Dr Chung assured me that there was nothing to worry about and that everything is simple to do. He was right! He first numbed me and then gave me a shot which I didn't feel at all. When he had to give me a shot at the roof of my mouth it was only little pinches. After that it was smooth sailing. The fillings were quick and painless as well as the deep cleaning. As for the wisdom tooth, no pain just weird pressure and what felt like grinding and my tooth being cracking to get out. It happened really fast! Overall A+ to Dr Chung and his staff. I will be coming back here again. Oh and I have Delta Dental which covered me very well there! read more

A few years back, we moved to Northern CA and looked for a dentist that was local to us. We simply couldn't find anyone that compared, so we ended up squeezing in a visit to Dr. Chung any time we were visiting the area. Dr. Chung is very skilled and is somehow able to complete any procedures with minimal discomfort, if any at all. This is key for my wife! He also has great bedside manner, so the whole experience is as pleasant as can be. He is great at explaining what options are available, and explaining what he's doing as he's doing it. I've been a client of his since his old location and now I'm a patient in his new practice in Diamond Bar. I actually prefer his new location, due in part to the better ambience and ease of parking. But come mainly due to his excellent reputation and service. As many people know, it's so difficult to find an honest and skilled dentist dedicated to his work and patients. I truly believe he enjoys what he does. He's always smiling and talks to you like an old friend. Which is telling of a good doctor. Normally, going to the dentist is one of the least pleasing things to do. But Dr. Chung has a way of putting you at ease. His state of the art office definitely gives a sense of confidence, that you come to the right place. His staff is professional and courteous and the wait is always minimal. He does not over book! Unless there is an emergency of course. Since he attends conferences and continuing education workshops, he is always up to date on all the new medical procedures and techniques, His credentials are impeccable. I've Been happily going to Dr Chung for over a decade now. He pulled my wisdom teeth in high school over ten years ago and is extremely professional and great with his patients. When I get reminders to make appointment I'm excited and can't wait to visit his office. Their new location is in the diamond bar shopping plaza on the north part of the parking lot. When you enter the building make a right and the door to their office will be on the left. I got lost the first time but when I opened the door and saw Loretta at her desk I knew I was in the right spot. She is hilarious and I love seeing everyone's faces there. He has great communication while working with you which I love even if it's just going to be a short treated sensitive area. Prepares you for all types of situations.
