My boyfriend and I had really good paella, and we wanted to try another place that hopefully also had good paella. However, this place was a bit disappointing in terms of seafood paella. We visited this restaurant last June. It was just across the street where we lodged and thought we'd give this a try. We first passed by but there was a wait list and they said to come back later. We did and we're seated right away. It took a loooooong time for a waitperson to come to take our order. When they finally came, we ordered salad and calamari for appetizers, and potatoes and a meat dish. The food was ok but not outstanding, and our server hardly checked on us and wasn't attentive. We were looking for some sangria and paella one evening and stumbled on this place! We got there and we were able to sit quickly for 4 people. Our waiter was friendly and got us our drinks quickly. I started with the sangria and it was MASSIVE! It was also delicious and worth the price. For the main, we got a mix of things. We got the paella mixta, the croquetas, cheesy garlic bread and the parillada. Overall, the food and portions were good! For my entire Spain visit spanning 5 cities and 10 days, this place was the best seafood paella I had the chance to have. I also discovered the wonderful fiduea dish which is a heavenly paella style dish made with broken noodles instead of rice. Very glad that we stepped into this place for a try. Nice little place just off the main path of La Rambla. Several tapas as you would expect and lots of different paella choices (we went with the seafood fideua, noodles instead of rice). The patatas bravas we had were actually some of the best we had during our entire week in Spain. They were cooked perfectly and the sauces had a wonderful flavor. This place is located not too far from La Ramblas and has a wide variety of paella, which was great for my group since we had a pescatarian and a non-seafood water. We got the vegetarian and chicken paella's because we were squeamish to get some of the seafood options. We also ordered some tapas to make sure we had enough food. The paella's were pretty big, so it was enough food to share between 2 people with other sides. I thought the paella was good and the sangria cava was also great. The only reason I am giving 5 stars is because the eggs in the English breakfast are the most amazing eggs I've ever had. Seriously, the eggs taste like sour cream and onion chips. Sadly, that's pretty much all that's amazing at this place. The tapas were alright and the menu del dia was decent. I stayed in Barcelona for 8 nights and ate here 4 times but that was mostly for the eggs and because the restaurant was only a few doors down the street from my hotel. We were on a vacation in Barcelona, with 5 guys/girls from the Philippines and 4 from the Netherlands. The first night we ended up in this place. We like the food, the wine and the prizes so much, we decided to go back the last night of our stay. The first night most of us had paella. Some had the seafood paella, others like me had the black paella. It's got squid, and that's also where the colour comes from. It's really salty, but I have to say it tasted excellent. The second night most of us had a mixed grill, with different sorts of meat. It was good food. Some pieces were lovely, others just so-so, but nothing was bad. Over the course of the two meals we also shared a lot of appetizers or tapas, and they were very nice, as well as the deserts we had on the last night.
