Our server was so super kind, compared to the spot we came from, and we ordered a seafood paella (paella de marisco) which was $11.90/pp, min. 2 ppl to order the dish, and the pulpo octopus dish w/ potatoes. ***We had a four person table but still were able to order a 2 person portion for the paella. *** The paella was exceptional! Incredibly flavorful and rice itself had very good flavor. Not dry at all & was one of the better paellas I've tried in Barna. The octopus was soft and cooked well. Nicely seasoned and potatoes were tasty. Wasn't a fan of the sparkling water though. Probably should've just gotten still water or a soda/wine. It had a weird taste to it. Best restaurant for paella in Barcelona. Restaurant is rustic and warm. Service is outstanding and very friendly. A friend leaving in Barcelona recommended it to me saying... "the place is unpretentious and out of the tourist seen" prices are incredible. We ordered a few things like tapa de chorizo picante (very good), Greek salad... skip it... and the mix paella for 2. We were 3. But I would say... order for 3 because you will not be able to stop eating this Paella. It is Delicious! The rice itself is so creamy, flavorful and tasty.... the socarrat... ufff. We had a full schedule so we decided to take a nap and woke up passed 9pm. Read that Bosque Palermo was open late till 2am so we hurried and got there around midnight (prevcovid times). I found out that the owner happened to be Filipina so that made me an instant, distant younger brother, from another father (hahah). It's a Filipino thing. I even got to practice my Tagalog, in the heart of Barcelona. I have to say for being open late - I was very surprised how good their paella was. It was very fresh and so tasty. Huge portions also especially the giant prawns. I had a local Catalan beer that was suggested by the owner but couldn't remember the name. It was really refreshing and excellent. Today is Monday and we arrived here around 930 PM. Crowded but there were seats available for two, so we were promptly seated. This review is only based off of the mixed paella which consists of seafood and meat. Coming in, we knew that the serving is going to be a lot, so that is all we came for even though we were sOo tempted for other things. She let us know that the paella would take about 25 mins, and asked if we wanted any appetizers while we waited. We kindly declined and ordered a liter of sangria to sip on. It did take about the 20-25 for it to arrive, and I must admit it was the best paella I've had anywhere and the best I've had in Barcelona. We tried to do our best to lick the pan clean, and so we did. Left feeling 10 lbs heavier but it was def worth it! If you're looking for the best paella I highly recommend trying it here! Visited Bosque Palermo for lunch while in Barcelona. They're open until 2:30, not the normal 1/1:30, so it gives you some extra time before siesta. It's a place that was recommended to me by a person I trust, especially the paella . I'm guessing she didn't get to go to the best. I had the disadvantage of dining alone on most of my visits. They only make it for two. However, on one visit the table next to me couldn't finish theirs and shared. It was good, but not amazing. I had good jamon, prawns in garlic, squid, and many other dishes. Every one were good, but not amazing However, the whole "vibe" of the place, the friendly staff, and the mix of tourists and locals was really nice. I've eaten inside, at the bar, and outside. All have their pluses and minuses. If you are alone, the bar is great. You're also most likely to meet interesting locals there. Outside, on a nice night, is a great time. This place is NOT awesome as reviews everywhere suggest, so I assume people keep coming because it's one of the few Barcelona restaurants reviewed on Yelp. It also has tons of reviews on TripAdvisor. Everyone dining here was either American or speaking English, so that just backs my theory! We had the seafood and meat paella dishes, which were both pretty mushy. This place was great! We came here on our last night in Barcelona looking for some paella. We were not disappointed! It was so flavorful and perfectly cooked! Just make sure you order some tapas because it takes about 30 minutes to cook. We also ordered "a glass" of Sangria and oh my goodness it was huge! So delicious. Visuals: it's a corner restaurant with a small bar area near the door. You have options to sit indoor or outdoor. The restaurant is nicely furnished in a way that gives a family friendly vibe. Food: the fried calamari was crunchy and tasty. The squid was perfect; flavorful and not dry. I wish they had Sriracha to go with it lol and my favorite was their seafood paella! It took some time to cook but it's worth it! Every bite was overflowing with flavor and deliciousness! I'd highly recommend it! Now that I had a chance to go to few tapa restaurants in Barcelona, I have to rate this restaurant a three star. The steamed shrimps were not fresh. It smelled fishy and despite a lot of lemon juice, it still smelled. So disappointing! The T-bone steak had a lot of fat. I don't mindit at all, but the oven has to be hot enough to burn through the fat. Unfortunately, I can still taste the gas burnt into the meat. The grilled octopus was small in portion and not spectacular at all. The seafood paella was very good. The best was their coconut ice cream. So this was the first place we came to fresh of the plane from the United States. The first impression was horrible. The guys in the front were super rude. We decided to leave because we didn't like the energy of the men. The following day we walked by and just couldn't resist trying again because the food looked amazing. We decide to make reservation and give it a go. Upon entering there was a lady behind the bar and she was very polite and welcoming. She made us the best Sangria's. She recommended items in the menu to try and was very nice. We waiting almost 30 minutes to be seated. We were then seated in a small area for 3 but had a party of 5. We asked to be moved, which was not a problem. They moved us and we had much more room. We all ordered the Seafood Paella and OMG the flavor was so good. Every bite was good. THIS. PLACE. IS. AWESOME. One word: HOUSE WINE (OK that's 2 words). The reviews are true -- massive pitchers for 3.70 euro. Are you kidding me???? Best deal in Barcelona no question. A GLASS at most restaurants is at least 4 euro, if not more. And it's not like this wine is terrible either -- it's pretty decent stuff -- and most certainly does the trick. Matter fact -- eating here was the first time I had been drunk off of dinner the whole trip, and considering my itinerary up to that point - Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Italy, France - that's quite a statement. The food just puts the place over the top. The seafood paella is the main attraction, it was well worth the hype. Deciding whether it was worth the wait, on the other hand, is perhaps a more difficult question, because the paella took at least 40 minutes to finally make it to our table after we initially ordered. However, the waitress was very apologetic about the situation, leading me to deduce that the long wait was more of an anomaly than something typical of the place. Luckily, it just gave us more time to get drunk off the wine, so we weren't too bummed regardless. My biggest complaints about the entire meal? The couple sitting next to us, seeing that we spoke English, leaning over and trying to strike up a friendly conversation. This was fine, of course, but being from Seattle they of course INSISTED on talking about the Seahawks and especially the 2014 NFC Championship game (I'm a huge 49ers fan). I mean, they were nice people and everything, but you gotta know not to go there. The wound is simply too fresh. But besides that, I have no complaints about the place. Some tips: Try to sit outside if possible, because the ambiance out there is great and it's a prime place to do some people-watching. While your food waits, try the tapas, which are good. Lastly don't be shy about the bottles of house wine - it's standard protocol to get several, and they're truly money well spent. In short: Bosque Palermo is a place to eat, drink, and be merry. I was on vacation in Barcelona, and my girlfriend and I were craving some good paella. Bosque Palermo came up on our Yelp search, and we decided to try it. We definitely did not regret it. We ordered a salad and an order of their seafood paella. The paella is 10 euros per person, which I think is an amazing price for how much food you get. The salad was eh. They put too much dressing and it wasn't anything spectacular. However, the main star was the paella. It takes 30 mins to make, so make sure to order it early, and to order some wine or appetizers to hold you over until then. But when it comes... The aroma itself was tantalizing. However, if you end up waiting, you can take a spot at the bar and get a head start on your sangria! As for food, I ordered the same thing each time (bad form, I know, but SO worth it): a meat paella and seafood paella and each time my mind was blown by how good it was! It's worth the journey if you're walking, the food is very good and very reasonably priced. We ordered the patatas bravas and the paella (which requires a minimum of two people to order). We wanted to order more but our waiter stopped us, mentioning that what we ordered would be enough. The patatas bravas were simple but good and something good to temporarily quiet our grumbling stomachs. The paella was excellent! I haven't had paella too many times in my life but I'd have to say that this was the best one thus far. It seriously looked and tasted perfect. Yet, before the grand exit... the final stage left walk... that one last goodnight; stands a final dinner at the Bosque Palermo. Yelpers all say it is worth the wait for paella and seafood so... SOLD! The wife and I are now sitting in the back room at a table fit for 2 lovebirds on their two year long awaited honeymoon. The room is a bit short as I am 5'11" and the ceiling is about two inches from the crown of my noggin. The bathroom is really tight. If you ever wanted to go potty while washing one hand, drying the other and eating dinner at your table, this washroom works perfectly for that. The server is a very nice man who speaks somewhat ok english. No pressure and super smiley. We ordered the paella, mixed seafood plate and the mont-ferrant gran cuvee brut sparkling wine. Given all the reviews, it would be a travesty not to. The wine arrived first. Light, refreshing and cool; it hit the spot for two thirsty lovebirds looking to quench a fire superheated like only a 10 day honeymoon can. We toasted to a fine honeymoon and wondered when we would be back next. The "starter" course was the mixed seafood plate. "Ohh myyy!" as our beloved Uncle George (Takei on FB) would say. The mussels and cockles sat perfectly with the white wine sauce. Just the right touch of olive oil to boot. The salmon... perfectly cooked and flakey. The last time I had salmon this good, my boss caught it himself in the waters off British Columbia! Now, the merusa (a white fish) was something else. So fresh and tasty. That overall taste was just a harmonious mix of flavors. Individually, they rock just about any dinner plate but together, well... it's just sinful. Good thing there are so many churches here I can go confess in. (You need to see the pics to believe this! ) Now, about the paella. I've been here in Spain for 10 days now and eating paella just about every day. I like to believe I know paella to a degree that 10 days would allow. The smell is just intoxicating. Salty but just the right touch. The saffron aroma is mouth watering! The mussels had this light tomato taste to them. As for the prawns... well, let me tell you something - despite the small amount of meat on those suckers, they were succulent. The paella sauce is creamy and just coats the rice enough to facilitate a smooth run down my mouth to my eager taste buds. Now, sip the sparkling wine with a mouthful of paella and whoa!! I am in FOODIE HEAVEN! Right about now (9:28pm) the room is packed. Tourists and locals alike crowd the establishment and I fully understand why. The paella was a very reasonable €10 per person and the mixed seafood plate €16. The mont - ferrant came to €13 a bottle. The wife wanted to try dessert at a shop close by so we opted to skip it here. So all in all, what a meal. 5 stars and counting. Will I be back? Let's just say I may not know when I will be in Barcelona again but I know I will be dining at Bosque Palermo should the opportunity present itself again. After a very unauthentic and boring paella on our first night here in Barcelona, this seafood paella from Bosque Palermo is definitely more in line with what I have expected. The rice was flavorful without being over-seasoned or salty and had the perfect chewy bite. There was plenty of seafood (shrimps, clams, mussels), and everything was very fresh tasting. The mixed seafood plate was equally tasty. The seafood was nicely grilled and lightly seasoned. There were cod, salmon, shrimp, mussels, octopus and clams. Ordered some appetizers and the Paella Racion for 2 (20Euro, see picture, seafood paella, it fed 4 of us), and Parilla Pescado (18 Euro, mixed seafood grill.
