En Fuego Events always puts on incredible festivals throughout SB County, but this one stands out to me because of it's small local feel. When you think festival you probably think Coachella or some massive event on a field somewhere. Buckles 'n' Brews is a smaller sized, half indoor half outdoor, beer sampling event at a hidden carriage museum right by downtown Santa Barbara. Don't be fooled though, there's plenty of parking despite the location size. This fest has everything from IPAs to refreshing ciders, Tri-Tip BBQ sandwiches and home brewed hoppy. Each year the vendors slightly vary and the beers themselves are always new and unique. There's fantastic live music played by the Dusty Jugz which always ends up in a "stage" full of line dancers. I'd recommend this festival to anyone looking to have a wild western themed Saturday with close friends and locals alike, dancing to country and lifting a cheers to craft beers in a nice, local intimate location.

It was quite a relaxing morning before the event. We didn't know about the parking until we walked in from the 90 mins street parkings. Got handed out a wristband, a cute short glass, and a yelp bag. So awesome to get in this event and tried as much beers as I can. So much fun the beer I like the most is the High Heat Edition from The Brewhouse, it habanero spicy, love it...found my new beer. There is pretzels to snack on. Drink and play! It a great event where we can relax and enjoy with country music and tastes all kind of great beers. People here are so friendly and very informative about the beers and anything you wanted to ask. Also game to play, basically it's a wonderful and fun event to be at and enjoy after our busy working day. My friend and I had a great time. Thanks, Dani!

Great Customer Service - they're extremely personable, flexible, know their stuff 2. High Quality Content - Recommendations and Beer were on point with enough flexibility to meet a broader audience (think IPA's - most folks don't enjoy the bitterness so they navigated that well) 3. Fun! During Pandemic their virtual tastings have been great to learn and hang out with interesting people that of course all love beer! Pre-pandemic I attended their North LA Beer Bus Tour and this takes it up a level from the comfort of home :) Give them a try, great beers, people, and quality service to support talented - local business!

She was super chill and fun, and just the kind of person you want to go beer tasting with. She is extremely knowledgeable about brewing, so it was awesome to hear about how the different beers are made, and understand why they taste the way they do. Second, can we talk about the fact that a fun bus picks you up and drives you to your preselected list of breweries? That alone is cause for celebration. And third, the beer tastings were tasty and varied, which I very much appreciated. We tried lagers, IPAs, porters, saisons, wheat ales, etc. A total of 12 tastings, and all expertly picked. So, all that said, I'd definitely go again and try a few new breweries!

Another thing our group really enjoyed was John being our paparazzi throughout the trip! We got really great shots from John. You pay for your tastings upon arrival but John curated the places and reserved our space at the wineries. When I booked with John, I told him what we wanted in our experience and he nailed the wine recommendations and wineries! John was fun, informative and prompt. Cannot recommend his service enough! The van felt like a luxurious treat! We were picked up and dropped back off at our hotel. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the more disappointing parts of the trip. The seating is tightly packed. I understand maximizing capacity, but at 6'6" it was not comfortable. We moved to the front right side where there is a sideways bench behind the driver, which offered more legroom. That felt like a smart move until we realized most of the sights being pointed out were on the left side of the trolley. It felt like about 80 percent of the tour was oriented that direction, which meant we were constantly twisting around and still missing details. If you book this tour, sit on the left side. The narration also felt disorganized. The driver mentioned he was reading the traffic flow incorrectly and ended up doing much of the route "backwards." Because of that, he would introduce a historical figure or landmark, then later circle back and partially repeat the same information when reaching his usual talking point. There was noticeable repetition and filler instead of a smooth, cohesive storyline. Midway through the tour, there is a stop at Mission Santa Barbara for about 15 minutes. While it is nice to get off and stretch your legs, 15 minutes is nowhere near enough time to meaningfully experience the mission. You can walk through the courtyard and take a few photos, but that is about it. The mission deserves more time than a quick pass through. In practice, the stop felt more like a checkbox than a real opportunity to explore. Another frustration was departure time. The 2:00 p.m. tour did not leave at 2:00. The driver waited past the scheduled time to see if additional passengers would join. When you are visiting from out of town and carefully stacking your schedule, those extra 10 to 15 minutes matter. Overall, for about $30 per person, I expected a more polished and better organized experience. We both left disappointed. If you want a meaningful introduction to Santa Barbara, you may be better off exploring key spots on your own at your own pace.
