On 9/27/23 I hired Santa Fe Roofing tears off my old shingles. Neglecting to inform me that they would be removing the skylights, Pieces of old shingle and roofing debris fall all over my master bed room and closet causing damage. Then Santa Fe Roofing informs me that the shingles were "accidently" not ordered and would not be delivered for a week or two. It rains on my unprotected roof from 11/29/23 until 12/4/23 I have mold, water damage, During install, I notice something is not right with the roof installation, I bring it to the attention of the manager of Santa Fe Roofing. He tells me that they do not install Ridge caps, Starter shingles, or Leak Barrier in So Cal. I contact Santa Fe to demand they Install what I paid for, and that is required to qualify for GAF warranty . After I contacted them, He said he was going to comply and install the ridge vents, and then he told his workers not to install the ridge vents, hoping that I would not notice. I call him out on it, or he would have cheated me out of what I paid for. After being called out for not installing the roof correctly. The roof is done, with a lot of problems. Mold, Overmeasurement, damages. I have reached out to Santa Fe roofing They denied any responsibility. Since then I have had my roof inspected by an independent roofing company who found several items not done to code. First off we had our home in Carlsbad since 1986. The tile roof was starting to leak a tad because the paper below and the flashing's were getting old - like failing. I called Santa Fe Roofing because they had done the back of the home for SOLAR a year prior. I knew they were better than VERY GOOD. Monte at Santa Fe Roofing was first class and down-to-earth. We used Santa Fe Roofing & Rain Gutters three times! They are our family's go to company for any needed roofing work. We were first introduced to them when they worked on the side of my roof where solar panels would be installed. The second time was when we had a roof leak in our upstairs master bedroom after the torrential rainstorms last February. Having lived in the East Coast for most of our lives, we had no idea that underlayments under ceramic tiles have to be replaced. Apparently the sellers never replaced it since the house was built in 1986. Santa Fe Roofing gave us a detailed and reasonable quote and did a fantastic job fixing our leaky roof, taking drone pictures and giving us a lot of feedback. We were very pleased with the General Manager Tarey who communicated with us in a timely manner and was very responsive to any questions we had. The roofers were great too. They showed up early and worked hard to fix our roof. We decided that we definitely need to replace the rest of the roof this year before we have another leak somewhere else in the house and called on Santa Fe Roofing & Rain Gutters again this month. They did not disappoint. They worked on my roof for six days coming early morning and staying until late afternoon. They used protective covers on my pavers and cleaned up after each day. We are so pleased with the hard work Andy and his crew at Santa Fe roofing put in at our house over the past week. Everything from the Demo process to install was seamless. These guys really pay attention to detail. On our house there were many areas of fascia that had termite damage and wood that had rot. At each damaged piece, Andy would bring to our attention the areas that needed to be replaced and we could decide if the wood was something we wanted to repair. We bought our home in May of 2020. During the purchase, the home inspector commented that our asphalt roof appeared to have two old, crumbly layers (about 40 and 20 years old).l that needed to be replaced. Monte from Santa Fe Roofing came out and gave us an incredibly thorough and reasonable quote (it was the midpoint of 3 quotes we received). He was conversational, respectful, and honest- so honest, in fact, that he was willing to talk himself out of a job by telling us that we could probably wait awhile before replacing the roof if it wasn't leaking. This straightforwardness and honesty is exactly why, a year later, we went straight to Santa Fe Roofing when we were ready to get the job done. Monte honored the quote he had given us the year prior, with slight adjustments due to the increased cost of lumber. He connected us with Tarey, who was equally wonderful, to bid a quote on the partial tear down of our condemned precast Rampart General Chimney. The pricing was more than fair and the pics speak for themselves as to the enhanced curb appeal of the quality work that was completed! During the 3 and a half days it took the replace the roof and tear down the solid-concrete-with-rebar precast chimney, the team was incredibly efficient and respectful of our property. Absolutely no complaints about their work! A generic tip for anyone getting their roof replaced: cover everything in the garage if you don't have an internal ceiling! We were lackadaisical about covering things, and there was definitely a lot of asphalt crumbles all over, in every nook and cranny. Additionally, we learned the importance of covering our bathroom fans as crumbles got into the bathroom through the fans. Crumbles also came through the microwave and the vent over our hot water heater and kitchen plumbing vent... again, no fault to the crew, it's just messy work! We had Baker Electric install solar on our house, and we payed an additional 4000 to have them remat our roof. This was about 2016. Baker subcontracted to Santa Fe Roofing. First time a big rain came, water was leaking into our house. Long story short, they've been out about three times since then because they can't fix the leak. This past rain, it still leaks. If you use Baker, make sure you DO NOT let them sub to Santa Fe Roofing for your roof work. Look elsewhere. read more

Chris and his crew did a great job under difficult circumstances to complete my job. Although replacing a roof is one of the most disruptive processes I've had to deal with in home improvement, Chris went above and beyond in his responsiveness and eagerness to solve problems. The roofing job was immediately followed by solar installation, during which many of the new tiles were broken. Seems that the newly minted tiles are very brittle. In retrospect, I believe the manufacturer should allow sufficient postproduction curing time to enable the materials to harden prior to installation. Chris made a special effort to get more tiles from the manufacturer and took care of the problems. I also had them install gutters, which they did very well. Horrible service! I made an appointment last week with this company to find the source of a leak with my roof. I confirmed yesterday that the appointment was good. One hour before their showtime, they call to cancel, because a bigger emergency happened. Um, what? I made at appointment and I get bumped? And to make it even worse, they can't offer an appointment for a future date? Completely horrible, disrespectful company! Avoid at all cost if you value your time and patience! Don and his team quoted and completed the repairs to our roof quickly, and the roof looks great. We were very pleased with the experience, some highlights below. Don took pictures during his inspection, told me exactly what needed repairs and how they would complete the repairs. Once the quote was approved, his team was able to schedule the repairs quickly, arrived on time, cleaned up the job site and walked me through additional hidden issues they were able to see once the tiles were lifted. The repaired area looks great, the repairs were completed as quoted, and the team was friendly and worked efficiently. We need to eventually replace the roof, Don quoted that as well and his quote was very competitive. We will definitely call Don and his team to replace the roof once we're ready to bite the bullet on that... Very poor customer service. I made an appointment with Santa Fe Roofing after discovering a roof leak. They said they would not be able to come out and inspect for 2 weeks. I said okay and made the appointment. Two weeks later, 90 minutes before the scheduled appointment, they called and said "we're too busy and therefore cannot make the appointment".
