Not sure why the Low rating It's easy and cheap parking (first 90min free) and in Santa Monica that's hard to find and this is located close to bunch of things like the mall or pier etc etc Seemed safe and fairly cleanish not like spotless but not gross or smelly so it was good! It was convenient and had fair pricing for parking. There was a lot of trash along the rails on the inside. The elevator was broken, so we had to carry luggage down two flights of stairs, but it was a fine parking garage. read more

Who the heck reviews parking structures?! I do! Gorgeous view of SM beach from top floors, I don't mind parking all the way up there because of this. Seriously. It's breathtaking. This a newer structure and I love it--90 min free like the rest of the ones in downtown SM, clean, charging for electric cars, and best of all there's a beautiful stairway along the front of the structure so you can enjoy the views going down. Forget the elevator, get some exercise and use the pretty stairs! Plenty of self-pay stations on the ground floor to use before going back to car. Right next to the promenade, next to a bunch of restaurants by the beach. I can't complain, this is one of my fav structures in SM. read more

Parking is the worst..... because the machine doesn't work, we are dinged for going over by a minute.... and the guy who is supposed to be assisting was a major jerk!!! So much for customer service or assistance. read more

Do not EVER park here if your life depends on it. I am a Los Angeles resident and have been to Santa Monica many times. After a lovely afternoon tea at the Georgian Hotel, my family and I have been stuck in this parking garage for literally an hour and a half. The traffic inside the garage has been backed up to the top floor (8) and there is no movement whatsoever. The staff is completely non-helpful and doesn't seem to have any solution to move the traffic...consider one of the many other parking garages on your next trip read more

This is a good spot in that you get 90 minutes free. However, if you go over, it adds up. I was parked for 5 hours, so about 3.5 hours overtime and it ost me $8.50 which still isn't that bad. When you see the pricing notice the rates are per 1/2 hour. Take a photo of where you parked, what floor you parked and and which exit you come out of in order to figure out how to get back to your car and not enter the wrong side. I'm giving this structure high ratings because the spaces are striped decently, not narrow and compact; it's covered parking, so shields cars from the elements and heat; it does offer free limited time parking; and it's conveniently located to the Santa Monica Mall and 3rd Street Promenade too. It's a popular place, so be aware it's not always easy to find a spot, and when you go up or down, in or out, drive slow, it's small and narrow enough where there's an accident waiting to happen between other cars and pedestrians, and especially when you're looking for parking, the slower you go, the greater the chance you'll have the right timing to get a space as someone is about to leave rather than overshoot opportunities and pass up parking spots. read more

It was easy to pull in and park considering it was a Saturday. I walked around for a few hours and when I left I only paid $1.50. I don't know how that happened, but I like it. If you park on the top of the structure you can see all the way to the ocean, which is always a great view. Every place that you would want to go is pretty much within walking distance of this structure, shopping, food, beach. It's great! read more

BEWARE when parking here. My vehicle was broken into on Friday evening May 16th. The THIEF damaged the passenger window frame and stole items from my trunk. Not to mention leaving a stench of cigarette inside my car. Zero cameras. No onsite security. Think twice when parking here!!! read more

So your driving down 2nd Street in Santa Monica looking for parking on a busy weekend and you see the sign, two hours free parking, $3 flat rate on weekends. Don't fall for it's, IT'S A TRAP! Everybody else and their brothers, sister, neice has the same idea. It's a long drive/search to the top to find those last few spots and then when you want to leave, (which is when everybody else wants to leave), it's a long wait in line to excape/exit. Which is exactly what you want to do after a night of dinner, movies and drinks. Maybe it's just me but it always seems to take me ten minutes to get out of this place; just when I'm not in the mood to wait that long to go home and sleep off my good times. On the other hand, if you get here when nobody else is around, two hours of free parking is good. But hey if it's not that busy you could take your chances with the parking meters. Just watch out for the Santa Monica Parking trolls; they are so @#$%^ effective at knowing just when your meter expires. Tip, park next door for $6 on weekends and save yourself the hassle. read more

Add at least an hour on to whatever you're doing if you come at night. Traffic is an absolute nightmare getting out. Uber if you can.

Signs are totally misleading....it said $20 max on weekday and $25 max on weekends. We parked rental there a day and a half and it was $70. Did not say addition fee for overnight. We parked there again for one day and it was $40. Please fix the rates to what they really are! read more

Location is great. $17.95 for all day parking on Sunday. However, when we left at 9, it took us 1.5 hours to exit the parking lot. It's a nightmare... I asked a guy who was there everyday and he told me it's normal to take hours to exit from this parking structure. I will rather park somewhere farther than wasting my 1.5 hours waiting to get out. read more

Do NOT park here during busy periods (weekend). We parked here on March 17 2019, St Patrick's Day and departed at 7:20 pm. We did not get out of the garage until 9:00, and we were parked on the 6th floor. The attendants were incredibly slow in taking tickets and did not help in any way to get traffic moving, (I.e. proactively walking up the line to take tickets or opening up second lane). The lot was full and so many cars attempting to leave that the line was on all floors. Normally attendant will manage the traffic by taking tickets before you arrive at the gate and leaving the gate open and closing left hand turn lane so two lanes turn right. We could gave been out in 15 minutes had the attendants made efforts. There is even a sign on the building stating " may take additional time to leave structure" posted so they know this is an issue. Yet they do nothing. Do NOT park here. read more

Not enough electric charging stations. Went their twice and not once has one open. Wasted 20 minutes looking for one.

Parked here all week while staying at the HI across the street, and it was great! No problems whatsoever and the price is okay ($14 max. rate) for the convenience and they safety and proximity to the hostel, beach, and 3rd street. read more

DO NOT PARK HERE! I was trapped for 2 hours and w paid $25 to park!! After waiting for so long the workers just ended up opening the gate for people to leave for FREE after the fact that we paid!! We complained to two workers and they both gave us attitude and said "you already paid..there's nothing we can do. Just call the number..." sooooo unhelpful! So we called and demanded for a refund for the inconvenience but the woman on the phone had excuses for the jammed traffic! She eventually said to call back on Monday about the issue. Overall TERRIBLE SERVICE, and terrible place to park. Do NOT PARK HERE! I wish I could give this structure 0 stars! What a mess! read more

Of all the parking structures in Santa Monica, I like this one the most. Free the first 90 minutes. One dollar for the next hour and then a dollar for the following half hours. This parking structure is new and clean. Fir those with electronic cars the city offers free charging stations (they have at least 10 stations). read more

Prices went up. Why? Because Santa Monica does not restrict them. They bump up the price and they're the most expensive in Santa Monica. It's cheaper to park by the boardwalk. They purposely turn off the machines at night so they can steal your money at the check out machine and you can't complain to anyone. read more

I drive an electric car. My car was unplugged by someone other than me for the second time this month. I was not fully charged on either occasion and there was no apparent reason for the people parked adjacent to me to unplug my car. (Spots on both sides of me had their own assigned plugs.) If you are reading this, please do not unplug fellow electric car drivers while they are still charging! Needless to say this is rude and inconsiderate. People shouldn't feel like they have to supervise their car while it is charging. I am a frequent flier at this lot, and have parked in downtown Santa Monica structures for many years prior owning an electric car. I have witnessed a lot of ignorant behavior here, from incessant beeping, to shouting matches over spots, to feces in the stairwell to name a few. My advice, watch your back and lock your doors. The good news is that this parking structure is huge and there are plenty of spots. read more

Good placement location for the actual structure. The rates are as follows: first 90 minutes free, $1.00 for the first hour thereafter, $1.50 each thirty minutes after that first $1.00 paid hour. Sorry if that was confusing. It's a short walk down to the pier and beach, which was the purpose for my visit. I parked on the west side of the structure on the 6th floor. However, the machine on the ground floor on the west side does NOT accept cash, only plastic, so you may have to walk out and around to the other side to use a machine that accepts cash. Also, there are two elevators on the west side; the one on the left goes to floors 1-4 (it might be 5, can't remember exactly), the one on the right goes to floors 6-8. It can be tricky if you've parked on the fourth floor but get in the elevator on the right, as it will go straight to the sixth (or fifth) floor, since that's the lowest floor option of buttons that you're allowed to choose from. read more
