Open Play is from MW from 5pm-9:30pm and SS 8am-11am and 11am-2pm. The community is very nice and it's a great way to meet people. Definitely recommend reserving in advance online else you may be in a for a wait--especially if it's a nice day. If you love pickleball and live in the area, this will quickly become your new weekly hangout.

When we came on Thursday they had a Food Bank where they give food away and these boxes has organic fruits and Veggies as well. They start at 11am people line up and you grab a number and then make your way to grab your goodies. I really appreciated the Lady that helped me carry them to my car, very sweet of her. We came here for the Splash pad and Park area as well. The park is so big you can have picnics, play in the splash pad that's very well maintained and organized as well. The kids had so much fun here and you can feel free to bring your own buckets and toys to fill up water and play as well. Such a neat spot and can't wait to be back cause this summer is going to be hot. There is a lot of Shade under tree's to hang with friends or have a picnic the options are endless. Their bathrooms were well maintained and the ones by the splash pad were at times wet because people are changing but they are spacious and there is also a changing station for babies as well. The park is really spacious with a wide range of playground equipment made for wheelchairs and with disabilities. It has a toddler area tactile and musical playground equipment. There's a zip line. There's a lot of shaded areas. There's a boat, space ship, tunnel, slides, rolling metal slide, balance beams shaped like balls, and so much more. It's a super inclusive playground with a diverse group of patrons as well. The bad: The parking lot had some cars that looked like people were living out of their car. There was a pee stench at the entrance. Toward the toddler area there was a guy smoking weed. The interesting: It has a LA theme with references to the observatory, freeway and more.

This makes it frustrating when it's crowded, and there are designated lanes for medium-fast swimmers, but they're taken up by slow/beginner swimmers. Had to wait around for 10 minutes until there was space. Needs to be a better of way of controlling/managing the lanes so that different swim levels can swim without the pool being completely overrun by slow swimmers, making it harder for other levels to enjoy the pool space.

The gated/enclosed tot lot area has two sections. There is a long/larger turf bottom area with seating and lots of fun toys for the kids to play with (eg cars, walkers, etc) and a second enclosed smaller area with a jungle gym for younger ages. Definitely a great place to spend a morning or afternoon. Only issue with respect to spending a longer time there is due to lack of restroom facilities, however, this park is not far from Concert Park and the surrounding retail stores.

Parking was a breeze. The park has an indoor room you can reserve if you plan far enough ahead, but the outdoor tables are first come first served. Felix's parents claimed a couple tables and brought two of their own, creating a sizable shady party space right next to the playground. I think the whole area was surrounded by a fence, so none of the pre-school age children could easily wander off. My boys had a blast playing in the sand and on the cute structure. There was also a little set-up for puppet shows, and all the kids kept going over there and pretending to buy and sell ice cream. I live too far from Santa Monica to make much use of Joslyn Park, but I know a good park when I see one. I'd recommend this place if you have young children, whether for party time or just a relaxing hour of play.

They had a covered area outside with a speaker so I could enjoy the church service with my dog after playing at the park! They even brought coffee out to me and had water for my dog. I'll definitely come back on Sunday's more often.
