If you cherish your special day and want to remember it forever, do NOT use this vendor. We contacted Jeffrey through a LivingSocial deal back in March of 2015 -- paid our deposit and waited. The only time we heard from Jeffrey was when we needed to send him the second half of the deposit. I followed up with him asking if we needed to meet up with him -- he said "no" and just needed a schedule. I thought it was strange but didn't think much of it. The Big Day comes on Sept. 25th -- and oh by the way, did I mention that we had our wedding at the Columbus Zoo!? It was an incredible experience that we definitely wanted to have recorded so we could enjoy it for the rest of our lives. The day comes, the day goes, the ceremony ends. We realize that Jeff isn't there. We get an email at 6:30pm (our wedding started at 5:30pm) saying that he was unable to come and he told us we will get a full refund. I email him a few days later and ask when we will get our refund. No answer. Email him a week later. No answer. Called and emailed a few more times in the following months... Nothing. We will never be able to get that day back. And for that, I absolutely can NOT recommend this vendor. Do not book Jeffrey Mark Barr through Santa Monica Pictures or Buckeye Wedding Vendor. I HIGHLY suggest looking at the negative reviews of Jeffrey on WeddingWire and Yelp -- that will give the actual picture of what can go wrong if you book with him. We have taken him to Small Claims court (to which he did not show), and we won. We are still waiting on our refund, but money or no money, you can't make up for our lost memories. We hired Jeff to shoot a live event for us on Sep 26 and 27. The day before the shoot, Jeff told us on the phone and via text that he was ready to go and would be at the shoot. Unfortunately, he didn't show up for the shoot--either day. Our company lost considerable revenue not to mention the embarrassment of explaining to all of our clients why we didn't have a representative shooting the event (they also lost money). To make matters worse, Jeff has never contacted us with an explanation. He doesn't return phone calls, text messages, emails or Facebook messages. He simply disappeared. read more

Let me start off my saying BUYER BEWARE! Unless of course you want to end up with a crappy product and end up in court. To give you a sneak peek of my outcome, I WON my court case against Santa Monica Pictures and Buckeye Wedding Video. As a note, the following is my own experience so take it as you may. I employed Mr. Jeffery Barr (who is the owner of Santa Monica Pictures and Buckeye Wedding Video) to film my wedding on the 23rd of May 2015 and have now had to take the time to take Santa Monica Pictures and Buckeye Wedding Video to small claims court for breach of contract and have WON my case. If you sign a contract with Santa Monica Pictures or Buckeye Wedding Video, you should know the following about my experience. First, I spoke personally with Mr. Barr a few months before my wedding, before my wedding he was very responsive, and responded to all my phone calls and emails in order to ensure that our contract was signed and a check was mailed. Because of this customer service, I proceeded to buy the "Florence" Wedding Package. Now skip ahead to my actual wedding. First, Mr. Barr was late to my event, I spotted him at my wedding venue only a half hour before my ceremony was scheduled to start rather than a full hour (as was contracted and verbally agreed upon). When I spotted him I immediately noticed his choice of attire because he decided to show up to my formal attire wedding wearing black pants with a casual polo, and the second videographer that accompanied him showed up in jeans and a Hawaiian shirt, even though I provided him with the dress code prior to my wedding. Though I thought it was odd, I was more concerned with my new husband and family on my wedding day so I did not say anything. I provided both videographers with a meal and enjoyed my day. Next, skip ahead to over a month later when I finally received a copy of my wedding video. Like a kid on Christmas morning I eagerly viewed the DVD "rough draft" copy of my wedding and that's when it went downhill. My wedding video had almost no sound (when looking at the video on a computer I can see that there is no sound attached to the video, so all sound was provided by the video camera's microphones themselves, rather than the wireless microphone that I was told by Mr. Barr would pick up my husband, myself, and our pastor, as well as anyone next to us), not to mention the lip movement in the video does not match up with the sound at all throughout my ENTIRE ceremony. Next, I noticed there were choppy edits between movements, for example the pre-wedding music and screen shots are oddly cut off so that the movie can skip ahead to the processional portion of my wedding, which differs greatly from what the demo videos Santa Monica and Buckeye Wedding Video suggests. Skip to the reception, and I'm missing important events like the bouquet toss, the garter toss, several hours of the reception footage, and to top it off the last 15 minutes is a video loop of the same people dancing (I know because it is the same song and people). Since Mr. Barr had admitted to me in an email that the copy I had received was just a rough draft, I quickly emailed back what I wanted him to edit. He had already agreed to edits in our contract, and then agreed to do it in an email. So once I told him my edits, I expected to receive a new copy of my wedding video a week or two later, but this of course never happened. I tried MULTIPLE times to contact and speak with of Santa Monica Pictures and Buckeye Wedding Video and did so through not only emailing Mr. Barr but also through the use of phone calls. I received two excuses, which were "this is my busy season" and "I'm on vacation" but in the end he cut communication, wouldn't respond to any of my emails or phone calls. It was in August (about two months after my wedding), when I threatened him with a lawsuit, attempting to get a response out of him that would lead to an acceptable copy of my wedding video, but he never responded. Well, five months and 20 days after my wedding, I received my court date and proceeded to take my case against Santa Monica Pictures and Buckeye Wedding Video Pictures, and have WON my case. Now it will be the trouble of collecting my money and all of my court fees, and I have no wedding video to speak of, besides a piece of crap that is not worth anything. So, based upon my experience and own viewpoints, I would avoid hiring Santa Monica Pictures and/or Buckeye Wedding video, unless of course you want to spend money, receive a crappy product, and then have to go to court to collect what is owed to you. read more
