Dr Laura and her staff are very pleasant and professional. She calls you instead of you having to wait on hold for her. That's something I haven't ever experience from a Doctor or Dentist office. I went to her because she is one of few dentist in Santa Rosa that can fit you for a month appliance to fix sleep apnea. If they would take my Delta Dental Insurance from my employee, I'd switch to her office in a nanosecond. read more

I've been a patient of this dentistry for many years, including prior to the current team. They just keep getting better. Their equipment is always state-of-the-art as are their practices. They're professional, pleasant, and genuinely concerned about the health of their patients, not just their teeth and their gums. I almost hate to say this out loud out of fear of getting forcibly committed into a mental institution but going to this dentistry is sometimes the best part of my quarter. I was in for my semi annual cleaning today and the usual dental hygienist , who is very thorough and knowledgeable, is on maternity leave until the end of the month. I wasn't sure what to expect with the new temp cleaning my teeth but she was amazing. It was a very pleasant and painless experience. My husband and I both go to this dentist and we live in Hayward! The staff is incredible and they are very much up to date on the latest and greatest technology. The only thing is they are not in or Network (and not because we are in Hayward) Therefore - we have to pay out of our pocket but have to say it is worth it. read more

What an incredible experience. Dr. Ellefson Is very thorough in her evaluation, and showed me my teeth in a way I have never seen them before. She has pretty advanced imaging systems that allowed me to see every single thing she was explaining to me about work I need to have done. In the past I used to think I could bypass some of the work suggested but the way Doctor Ellefson explained things with the addition of the images, I was thoroughly convinced that I need to get this work done.Her staff is pretty amazing too. Her assistant was with me throughout the entire process even when I went in for my cleaning. She was very kind and gentle. In addition the front desk staff were On top of it and gave me an estimate of all the work I need done so that I can have an idea of the expense I can expect to have. Full service through and through. Definitely glad I came here! My family has been coming to this office since we moved to Santa Rosa in the early 2000s and have seen the changes from a family based practice through the ownership change and transition into much more of a business first model. That's is fine, nothing stays the same forever and at the end of the day it's about getting your dental health needs met for which the current group is very proficient. However, I've been recently informed that I would have to pay out of pocket going forward as they are no longer accepting Delta Dental, presumably due to disputes over reimbursement. They will submit the claim on your behalf but it is up to you as the customer to deal with Delta Dental from that point on. The person I spoke with basically acknowledged that this will ultimately result in weeding out Delta Dental clients unless they are willing to pay the full, non insurance negotiated rate upfront. I understand the the battle between providers and insurers over reimbursement amounts but this is essentially telling the working class person to take their business elsewhere. The irony is that the last several times I've visited they have someone to meet with clients before they leave to go over how much left you have under your annual coverage limit and suggest treatments to use every penny of it. Essentially they are contributing to the very problem that leads to the cost of healthcare by prescribing unnecessary treatment. In summary, the dentistry itself is as good as the next but the business practices aren't well suited for anyone covered by California's second largest dental insurance company. read more
