My experience with the dentist and hygienist were good. Billing handled by Meghan the office manager is a different story. I have delta ppo so when you visit a ppo provider the dentist agrees to accept an amount that may be less then what is billed and copay calculated before insurance pays. The difference was never adjusted and my question was ignored several times when inquiring. Finally after saying I would contact delta dental professional services Meghan told me they would cut me a check and wasn't sure where the misunderstanding happened. Im sorry you dont just cut someone a $400 check if they aren't understanding billing, you would explain to them. If you have a ppo insurance definitely check your insurance statements vs what you are billed after services provided. Also one time I was blindsided by getting a $500 bill from the office in the mail. Meghan said waiting on insurance payment to ignore it and that she submitted several times, that insurance play games that she's been doing this for 20 years... I called delta dental they said they hadn't received needed documentation and after I sent a text to the office with an email to submit suddenly delta dental paid with in 5 days so Meghan is the one who was playing games. There were a few times where Meghan wasn't honest but plays it off as she knows her sh*t. Unfortunately because of billing/ insurance issues I said I would not longer be going there after finding a dentist i felt comfortable with. read more

I have been going to Coddingtown Dental for a few years and have had excellent experiences, from the front desk, hygienist, billing desk and Dr. Nijjar. I've needed crowns and fillings, which have been of excellent quality. But I especially appreciate that when I've told them I can't afford something, they don't pressure me at all and let me know when something can wait and when I am taking a risk of losing a tooth if I don't get the problem fixed. The all-white with aqua blue decor is beautiful and the place is spotless. I was especially impressed with how they have handled Covid-19 protocols. I have been going to Coddingtown Dental since 2018. I had no issues with them before. They were very helpful, payments were always accurate and never had to reschedule my appointments which was nice. However after spending over $7000 on all the work that had to be done I was only going in for cleanings every 6 months for the past 2 years. I don't know if its because I wasn't spending as much or if they are consistently short staffed but the past 3 dental cleanings all had to be rescheduled on their part. Keep in mind these cleaning were scheduled 5-6 months in advanced and were cancelled the week prior or the week of the appointment. I purposely scheduled these appointment as I work full time and was going to Sonoma State full time so scheduling appointments became pretty hard for me. Once I had asked the office how soon could I reschedule they told me that their next available appointment would be in a few months. So at that point I would have waited around 7 months if not more just to be seen for a cleaning. The last two times the office told me that they could put me on a stand by list that if someone cancels they would call me. The last time they told me this I had called them after a week of not hearing from them and turns out they had an opening which made me upset because had I not called in I would have never heard from them. This most recent cancellation they called to cancel my appointment a week before my appointment and since then it has been 2 weeks and have yet to hear back once again. That being said if you're a person who depends reliable appointments DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Because of the non existent accountability of the front desk manager, I to this day still am having issues with this dentist office. First off, Dr. Nijjar is wonderful and gentle and kind and I was so thankful to find her, unfortunately her dishonest staff made a dental situation even worse. Prior to going to a consult at Coddington Dental I was mis-informed about the best way to address my teeth - I was told that Implants would be the best and fastest bet. I called around April, I spoke to the front desk and explained that I was planning to have extended overseas travel in October and that I really wanted to start the implant process and have a great smile for my trip. Upon going to my first appointment I learned that I had been misinformed and that there was no way this would happen - Dr. Nijjar referred me to an orthodontist but we still began my general dental treatment. In July I got invisalign via my new (and expensive) orthodontist and I was in excruciating pain so I called into Coddintown and let the lead front desk woman know (I believe her name is Nicole) that my ortho suggested I hold off on dental work for a month or so. I waited some time and went back to get half of my deep cleaning done. That went well and I paid in advance for the second half. I began to have ortho problems again and at the same time I ended up leaving for my month long travel, travel which I know I told the front desk about because that was the whole reason I came in to begin with! I returned from travel to find a very rude letter from Coddingtown dental stating that I obviously did not care about my dental health and that I was being dismissed as a patient because of it and there was a refund check for my advanced payed treatment. Seriously?! I have never heard of anything like this in my life! So I call the office and get the lead front desk gal who is SUPER rude and snotty to me and says that I am no longer a patient of theirs. I literally got fired by my dentist! I tried to explain that I had in fact notified of my travel, (which is also ridiculous that I have to check in with a dentist about my personal travel but that's a whole other topic) and that woman at the desk implied 100% that I was lying and then she lied herself, stating I never once mentioned travel - um hellooooo, the reason I even came to your office was to fix my teeth for my travel! Also, if I 'didn't care' about my dental, why on earth would I drop thousands of dollars to an Orthodontist and pay Coddingtown in ADVANCE for treatment?! This person had more than one chance to tell Dr Nijjar that she had made a mistake and to work something out with me but instead she lied. I tried to reach out, left messages and sent E mails to get completely ignored. I have requested my dental records TWICE and never got them. Not only have I now been through terrible Orthodontic process, I have had to try to find a completely new dentist and start all of that process over. Apparently, I am not good enough for Coddingtown Dental and any place that backs employees who are dishonest at the expense of a patient deserves less than one star! read more

I got a filling done here today and I was very nervous since I have had bad experiences at a previous dentist. They took me back within 3 minutes of walking in the door and I was in/out of the office in under 45 minutes. I felt no pain during the filling and only a tiny bit of pain when I got the numbing shot before the filling which I was very surprised by. Overall I was very impressed with the care I received here and everyone was friendly and reassuring. Well they are not accepting my insurance at the end of January. I am in the middle of a two-part treatment. They called today and canceled the appointment for the second part that I had this afternoon. And guess what? They could not find another appointment for me before the end of January. So the heck with the patients guess. (I wonder if they'll fill those slots with more lucrative treatments.) I'm very dissatisfied with this. I had to get a second opinion for a molar that I'd already had a root canal on. My DC dentist told me I had to get the crown redone because there was a margin, but he also sent me to my endodontist to check out the shadow around the roots that showed up in his xray. My endodontist used his newfangled 3D xray machine on that tooth for a better view of the tissue around the roots. I looked at the xray with him, and although he didn't seem certain that there was anything in the image showing anything dire, he made circles with his finger on various parts of the xray and said it showed SOMEthing (I sure couldn't make anything out, 3D xray or not) and that I should have the root canal redone. The thought of having to dismantle the already existing crown and having to go through another root canal did not appeal. Apart from that, the tooth was not bothering me (other than a single instance of severe ache which might have been caused by a nearby canker store), and I tried to tell him that. But he dismissed my input and told me to go back to my dentist to have the crown removed to prep for the root canal. Now I've been with my dentist for many years, and my endodontist for even longer, so I like them both. But I just wasn't persuaded that I needed another root canal. Well, after that, I avoided my dentist and that endodontist for at least a year. I did not want an unnecessary root canal but I didn't want to be replacing the crown on a tooth in case the shadow was actual indication of some future problems. On one of my many trips to CA, I was complaining about my tooth dilemma to a friend of mine, also a patient of Dr. Nijjar. My friend told me that Dr. Nijjar and her office were very laid back, and that Dr. Nijjar's rates were the most reasonable in the area. She urged me to at least go get my 6-month cleaning, and ask her about my molar while I was at it. I figured I needed to get the cleaning since I'd skipped a couple of cycles. And I really needed to resolve the molar problem. On the day of my appointment, X-rays were taken of the molar, and of course, upon examination, Dr. Nijjar also noted the shadow, expressed some concern about it; but she also said that if the tooth hadn't bothered me since that one time, I probably didn't need a redo of the root canal. We made an appointment for the crown. Then, on the day of the appointment, before starting on my tooth, she told me she had talked to an endodontist and shown him my xrays. She said he advised against doing another root canal since it would cause stress to the tooth and risk breakage. I really really appreciated how she performed this behind the scenes consultation with the specialist to confirm her assessment of the tooth and the correctness of the treatment. It was not only that she went the extra mile in asking the endodontist, but she didn't assume the problem was cut and dried, or push a specific treatment on me. That was what I needed to put me at ease that I was making the right choice. read more
