I stumbled upon this awesome concert in my attempt to walk off my dinner…read more I've lived in the area for years and didn't even know this concert series was going on in my own backyard. The concert series is in its 17th year and I've been in Buffalo for the last 12! Talk about clueless! No wonder finding parking for dinner was such a pain! It was a lot of fun and the crowd was great. There were people of all ages and dogs too! There were also some people hula hooping too. The crowd was super chill and did I mention dogs? I love dogs and I find my happy place when I'm around them. The concerts are on the green space at Elmwood and Bidwell every Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and free to the public. Lloyd's was there along with the Ice Creamcycle guy, Gelateria Luca, and Ashker's. The Elmwood Village Association was also there for any interested folks to join the association and collect donations. I'm looking forward to Neville Francis and the Riddim Posse! Last concert of the season is August 12th. Parking was a bit of a pain in the immediate area but if you're not afraid of walking 2 minutes, then there's parking aplenty. There was parking down by Forest Ave., on the side streets, and on Elmwood past Bidwell. Be prepared to parallel park like never before.

People have elaborate spreads or food from the surrounding restaurants. It can be as easy as you want or as fancy as you please. This is a simple fun filled family affair. The only thing I wish was more prominent was details about the ticket system for both drink AND food. Several people asked myself and my companions whether tickets were needed for food because most food trucks weren't explicit in their description of ticket use for menu items. I had remembered this from the past, so we were able to pass this along. Otherwise, ticket sale tents only really listed the number of tickets needed for drinks, so that could be misleading. I look forward to future Pride events!

I have driven by year after year and thought I really need to check it out . One year (maybe more ? )they were not there for the season and I was saddened , so when I saw them open , I made a point to get there . Upon entering you will see many blow up bounce houses. Sadly, the big tiger you can see from the road is "retired" but , man he is cool ! There is also a little track for kids to be able to drive kid cars around . I would say this is great for probably the 4-5 year olds , but flexible. There are many tables set up for "pumpkin tic tac toe" . I thought it was an adorable idea. There are food huts/vendors set up with the typical carnival offerings of kettle corn, cotton candy , soft pretzels etc. What I found fun , is that there is a whole second area that you have to walk a short way through a corn maze to get to . I had no idea it existed ! Here is where you will find some more great bounce attractions and game areas , blow up slides and even a kids zipline attraction . So much fun. My 2 1/2 yr old grandson had such a great time . I recommend this for the little ones , especially 2-6ish years old . You will have a great time watching them have a great time . Lastly , we paid I believe $12 for an armband(did not have to pay for adult bands) which allowed for all day access to all of the bounce houses, we also were able to get a mini pumpkin included in that price . It was well worth the price ! I believe you can purchase individual tickets , but much more cost effective to get the all day bracelet. Pack up your kids, or your grandkids , or even your friends kids , and go ! :)

Getting lost in a Corn Maze... Definitely not my idea of a Saturday night. Nevertheless, after…read moreletting 6 of my friends talk me into going to The MAiZE, a venture to this notable Buffalo attraction was had. Just a few notes on the Corn MAiZE - The MAiZE is segmented into three sections - Easy, Medium, and Hard. Be forewarned, I was stuck in the Medium section for 45 minutes. - Vendors: Kettle Corn and Beverages are available for purchase - There's a large MAP of the MAiZE posted at each entry. If you're inclined to cheat, do so willingly. - "Corn Cops" are strategically located within each MAiZE. If getting becomes boring, simply ask a Corn Cop for directions on how to get out! - WEAR BOOTS! The Corn Field is known to get extremely muddy. Sadly, my white Pumas did NOT survive the evening. - Time spent finding your way out of the 3 MAiZEs can vary between 30 minutes to never! - If you're afraid of the dark, the MAiZE is NOT for you. - The last MAiZE is the most difficult. My party and I simply gave up when we exited at the entrance. Simply put, the MAiZE is a great time to be had with a bunch of friends. Nothing beats getting lost in a Corn Field with 6 of your closest friends on an Autumn evening.

The only hang up is that everyone who goes makes the same painting, so if you go as a date night, you wind up with two of a kind (obviously a little different). A friend of a friend was hosting a 2-hour painting class where half of our fee would go toward a…read morebreast cancer support group that her friend is a part of. I couldn't say no to participating since I've seen too many lived ones suffer through breast cancer and treatment. Plus I love being artsy so it was a PERFECT combination of doing good and having fun! There were 12 ladies in the class with all different levels of creativity running through their veins. Our painting was of a vase with flowers in it. I completely took a different (color and style) direction than that of the original painting and was pleased with my results. That's the fun thing about art- do what moves you! The art space itself is decent, comfortable for a group of 12 and I'm sure potentially a few more. But do note that you have to walk up a flight of stairs to get into the painting area. If you're handicapped or unable to walk up stairs, this space is less than ideal. I'm glad I unlocked my art talent once again. It's bee tooooooo long! I'm going to have to hit up an art store for supplies soon so I can make more creations at home. Very inspiring!
