We've been coming to this fruit stand for 5 years, and it's one of those rare places that truly stands behind the quality of what they sell. Anyone who buys fresh produce knows that sometimes a papaya, jicama, or other fruit can look perfect on the outside but end up going bad on the inside--that's just nature. What sets this place apart is how they handle it. If you bring it to their attention, they'll happily replace it at no extra cost. The same goes for their farm-fresh eggs. They genuinely care about their customers and stand behind their products. Their eggs are local, high quality, and incredibly reasonably priced for what you're getting. The produce is always fresh, and their customer service is exceptional. They once gave us a rue plant that wasn't looking its best, and today it's absolutely thriving. Another thing we love is their beautiful sunflower bouquets. They're only $5 a bunch, which is already a great deal. Even better, if you stop by near closing and the sunflowers are fully opened and at the end of their display life, they'll often give them away for free rather than let them go to waste. I've been here many a times that I'm sorry I haven't left a review sooner. Santiago's is a great fruit and produce stand in Ventura nearby the harbor and not far from the freeway. Makes this spot a convenient stop before or after work or cruising around. Easy to find, they have beautifully painted signage and banners. They also have two entrances off the busy back round drag that I've found it easy to pop in here. Ample parking on their lot in front of the stand. I come at off hours and get right in and out. They take cash and card here no issue. Definitely an easy stop for your fruits, veggies, firewood and flowers. Staff here are super nice and welcoming, always a good vibe. I stopped by this evening to grab two bundles of sunflowers. They were gorgeous and only $5 for a bundle of about 4 or so. Bought two bundles which made for a lovely display. I also appreciate that after you purchase your flowers here you can get the long stems cut at the secondary register. Great find and I hope you'll come support this local stand. read more

But...this family run (patriarch and sons mostly) business stands out as one of the best in the area. They are always kind, courteous and friendly. The place is super clean. The produce is fresh and the variety is amazing. As a plus, they always have great music playing so I find myself dancing down the isles. In the summer time, they have THE BEST mangoes! Hands down. When out in Oxnard or Ventura, I always love stopping at the side of the road fruit stands/markets. Sadly this was the quickest in and out of a fruit stand I've had. I am not one to write a bad review but man...let down. Walked in, no one really around to greet us. Kind of wandered around and noticed, really high prices (even for a farmers market in the middle of nowhere), and semi rotting and not so appetizing looking produce. Bags of avocados were so soft we picked one up and it mushed out in our hand. Smelled rotted $2.50 for one small green onion $2.00 for one cucumber The strawberries & fresh sunflowers were the only gorgeous thing in there, those definetly caught our eye initially. The sunflowers however had no price, and when I tried to find someone to ask I ended up giving up when I was unsuccessful. 2 for $5.00 on great looking pumpkins, so that is a great plus if you're looking for fall decorations after the Halloween season. I don't know why so many low star reviews. This is a farmer's stall in a sense. Smaller parking because of their location but easy to spot off the road. There was an older man that greeted us as he was arranging some fruit. The lady ringing people up was nice, too. We love to stop and get some berries (strawberries, blackberries and raspberries). Comparable prices to grocery chains but I prefer giving my business to a momma and papa stand. I've never bought their flowers but they are looking fresh and beautiful. A steal for $12. Also a flat of eggs for $11. I didn't get any because I have chickens. But cool to see they have some. My sons also like getting some of their dried fruit. read more

I love this place so much! I have been going to buy the best AVOCADOS around for years. I also pick up fruit and veggies with my AVOCADOS most trips. They also have cut flowers, firewood, and sometimes potted plants too. And just when I thought this place could not get any better.... They did!! Just about the only way to get good strawberries is from a local fruit stand during strawberry season. There are several good choices in Ventura but the best choice for price is Santiago's Fruit Stand. While more centrally located stands were charging $45 for flat of Albions, Santiago was charging $20! Located where Telephone Road ends at Olivas Park Drive, this stand has watermelons, oranges, flowers, honey, and other fruits as well as Strawberries. Nice people and great prices. I've been shopping at Santiago's produce stand since about Summer of 2019. There are a few produce stands in the area, and across the street from this there's a much larger barn in which they sell a larger supply than Santiago's. I had originally given that barn a try but was not impressed with the service, quality, nor prices. Anyhow, since I first shopped at Santiago's I've been a loyal customer, returning at least once every weekend to load up on my family's weekly fill of fruits and vegetables. Now for the real gem, Santiago himself is such a nice, genuine man. He is hard-working and very honest. I always ask him for recommendations on produce I'm not familiar with and he has made great recommendations of tasty things for my family to try. He helps me pick out the best avocados, he'll even take things out of my bag and replace it with a better version of it. He is also a terrific dad, bringing his teen sons and making them work for him. We also have conversations about how he's trying to keep them off technology and having them learn respect more so. My Sunday mornings are always a treat as I take my little pup Twinkle with me out on some errands, usually grab a quick breakfast somewhere, do a Trader Joe's run, and then finish off at Santiago's before returning home. I can say that Santiago's is definitely one of my favorite parts of this routine. Saw this cute fruit stand when I was driving into Ventura and made a mental note to come back at the end of the day to buy some fruit. Slight regrets that I did. The price are just what you expect from a fruit stand right off the farm entrance/area. No complaints on price as I bought some strawberries, mangos, oranges, avocados, and tomatoes. My only complaint is that they definitely pack their strawberries to hide the older/rotten ones. I picked my tray of strawberries based off the top layer (all bright red, firm, and large). I get home and place the strawberries on the counter to be eaten tomorrow as it was pretty late when I got back. Yeah, the very next day (not even a full day since I bought them) and the bottom layer is already starting to rot. I'm talking straight up mold growing across my strawberries. I managed to salvage the very top layer, but had to toss away the rest of the strawberries. Pretty upset at the waste and the cost, but I guess that's what I get for not checking the bottom layer of my hidden strawberries... Lesson learned; will not be back! read more

Staff was polite and helpful. Great variety of local produce at very fair prices. It was a little odd to find produce that wasn't local and looked to be from a grocery store (i.e. pineapple, etc.). An excellent local resource and will definitely stop by again when driving through town! read more

We stopped on our way home to AZ to get strawberries. This stand is on the corner so it's difficult to get in or out. As we arrived the food truck was leaving so that was good because it took up half of their parking spots. The strawberries were good and sweet but at least a day old ( dark red and not shiny). It was the only place open at 9am so it worked for our needs at the time. There's fruit, vegetables and flowers and some nuts too. Huge colorful sign, you can't miss it. read more

Beware! I was soooo disappointed. Terry's Berries was closed and I needed a flat of strawberries for a family gathering. We went to Santiago's instead. I had read an earlier review of Santiago's that the strawberries on top look beautiful but were rotten underneath. So I checked. Beautiful on top and beautiful underneath. But WAIT! We delivered the strawberries to our host who found that all the strawberries under the top layer were rotten inside! Needless to say it was embarrassing and a huge waste. read more

You'll find lots of fruits and veggies to pick from, beautiful bouquets of flowers and a wall full of jars of honey. The produce here is really fresh and affordable. A whole bag of avocados was $5 and 3 cartons of strawberries were $6. I got both and they tasted great. The workers were also really helpful and knowledgeable. They offered advice on how to pick strawberries so they'd be ripe when I expected to eat them. They also brought out more fruit so I had more choices to pick from. Parking is also hassle-free. There were lots of spaces, convenient and easy. We spontaneously stopped here while driving by and seeing this place on the side of the road and I'm glad we did. If I lived closer, I'd probably be a regular here. The next time I'm in the area, I'd probably stop by again. read more

30 day Yelp challenge- 4/30 Wow, what a find! There aren't any strawberry farms in LA, and me and a friend were staying a few days in Oxnard. We were actually going to make chocolate covered strawberries for a party, and this was the perfect find! On a corner on the way to the freeway, they have colorful signs of fruit with prices on the side of the road. We turned into their lot that has plenty of free parking. On the side there's a quirky painted wall of Ronald Reagan picking strawberries and a female pilot. The red ripe strawberries were an amazing sight to see and smell. They had just picked the strawberries that morning! A 3 pack was only $6 and a whole flat $18. They had an array of pumpkins for the season, bags of oranges for $8, bags of ripe avocados for only $5, dates, dragonfruit, huge mangos, bananas, papayas, tomatoes etc. They also sold amazing honey with wildflowers, sage and orange and dried fruit. To top off your purchase, don't forget to pick a bouquet of their full, colorful flowers. The girl working there was also very friendly and they take credit cards. Provided great info about the berries, helped carry and stack the four flates in my car so that they would not fall over...and stacking 4 full flats of strawberries in a Ferrari is no easy task.
