Everyone was nice, and vibes were poppin'. I wasn't impressed by the food or drink, though they have a comprehensive menu. The Watermelon Margarita I got was kinda syrupy and not very strong. Wasn't worth ordering a second one. We were probably better off taking tequila shots at that point. The food wasn't particularly memorable either. I think I got the Birria Smothered Burrito. For sure a place to check out on Tennyson St. we had breakfast here and some drinks .... Nothing bad to say about the food everything was delicious ... But the shining star was the Trea Leches Pancakes!! Omfg I can devour that and lick the plate (lol) ...I was obsessed ... The staff were really attentive and super nice !! For sure hospitable and very endearing .... The food is Latino inspired specially Mexican ... If you are looking for good food and drinks then this is the place to go !!! I can comfortably give this place a solid 4 star review. I truly hope that my review will up their overall ratings as of 3.5 star as of mid-December in 2024. This restaurant is modern and clean. First floor is a good size; secondly floor, although it's half the size of the first floor, has its own bar so drink service should not be slow. Tis the season. As of the writing of this review, Christmas is only 12 days away. The decorations throughout the restaurant are so merry. All kinds of Grinch theme decors are seen throughout. The restaurant staff worked hard to make this place so magical. Now the food, I only needed something small so I got me guacamole and chips. It was only $10. Once I got my orders I hurried to run to my car to go home for the night. As I opened the brown bag, I was shocked to discover a confused full of salsa! Did this automatically come with my guac and chips? Or it was a generous gesture manifested by the manager, Enrique?? Whatever the case may be, thank you. It was definitely more than what I had paid for. Both guac and salsa tasted great (let's not forget the chips; they were still warm in the brown bag.) This experience of mine tonight was definitely more than the current star of 3.5 (the restaurant has) for sure. Next time, I will get a plate of a meal or something to taste their food in a real sense. I am looking forward to having the same great experience as today's. read more

The service was very good from start to finish. Very friendly and attentive. Several people checked on us while we dined. The food was yummy & the place seemed clean/tidy/organized. Whoever does their social videos is great. That's what brought us in. The food was basic at best. Enchiladas needed seasoning was just red water sauce. My husbands potato with his fajitas came out cold (straight from the fridge cold) Kids options were quesadilla or a grilled cheese for $10 Bill was $230 plus tip. Not worth it. read more

It's OK. I grew up and currently live in crowded Mexican food markets. The food here isn't remarkable by any means. My shrimp was not too flavorful and was luke warm. This wasn't a good second choice, but what we ended up with because the place we wanted to go had a 90+ minute wait for a party of 2 later than normal dinner time. Delicious Vegan Options! We stopped in for lunch today on a whim and found a bunch of delicious vegetarian and vegan options. We had the vegan ceviche, vegan tacos, and mini relleno appetizer (contains cheese). It is rare to find a Mexican restaurant with vegetarian or vegan options beyond a bean burrito, so I wanted to make sure and call this out! The vegan tacos are seasoned soy curls, and my meat eating wife loved them. We ended up swapping because the rellenos were a bit too spicy for her Midwest palate, but once we dipped them in sour cream, they were perfect for her as well. I came here with my boyfriend during the hot days we've been having and grabbed a margarita and some dinner. The food was great and the margs were even better haha. Our server, Cecilia, was wonderful. However, the food was terrible. The queso fondido was hard as a rock and no tortillas came out with it. The shrimp tacos were also severely overcooked and had no flavor at all. Sadly, got home and actually got sick. I will say the drinks were ok and ambiance was great upstairs outside. You can also bring your dog which is a huge plus. Too bad the food is so awful. read more

Thought margs on a rooftop would have been perfect today with the gorgeous weather. Unfortunately, we did not have the best experience. We had to share an umbrella with a neighboring table up on the rooftop - the rooftop is quite large but there were only 3 umbrellas set up. With that, we had to squish ourselves into the shade of an umbrella being used by another table and our seats were blazing hot (black metal chairs sitting in the direct sun). We were very close to the couple next to us and it was awkward given how much open space there was around us, but it wasn't shaded. Then, the margs were not very flavorful and debatably even watery. Finally, the queso was basically melted cheese with some green peppers in it. It was not smooth at all and lacked any spice. Great location on Tennyson, though. I hope this was just an off day. It seems like the same restaurant that was there before with not as good food. The prices are reasonable and the quality of food is overwhelming but, it isn't unique in anyway. The queso dip was very stringy cheese rather than a more liquid cheese that I believe most would have expected. The flavor was not very appealing to me either. The chips are top notch! I was finally able to try this place and was mostly satisfied. I was disappointed by tres chiles so many times over the years so I was excited to try the new Mexican spot in this location. The food was good, we had queso, guacamole, fajitas and enchiladas, all of which were very tasty. The drinks were ok, we had a house margarita, michelada, and a skinny spicy margarita. The margaritas were a bit too sweet and lacked any bite but the michelada was good. One thing I will say is that they raised the prices significantly compared to tres chiles, or any other Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. The shrimp fajitas were $34(!) and if you're going to charge $34 for shrimp fajitas, at least take the tail off the shrimp prior to serving it. read more
