I had two towering Cypress trees (over 26' tall) where the roots started cracking a 3' retaining wall due to the trees roots (inherited with the house, I would have never planted them there for this very reason). Also, this past year, one became heavily infested with spider mites and it was starting to spread to the other tree. Moreover, it was harrowing to watch them sway back and forth in high wind events. Reluctantly, after procrastinating for months, I came to the conclusion that it would be best to remove them asap before we get any more compromising weather this fall/winter and there was an actual retaining wall breach. I had a great experience with Santos! I had called three companies to take down two trees. Ultimately, Santos was the best-priced and had the fastest turnaround. I was a little nervous because sometimes cheaper means terrible service. However, that was NOT the case. The crew showed up early at 7:45 AM and quickly took down two big trees (a juniper and a carrotwood), leaving no trace. It's usually a waste of time to write a review of a business that has 150 5-star reviews. How much more can one review contribute? But this company and its owner are extraordinary, and I would feel remiss if I didn't add my voice to the flood of 5-stars. We have a giant Ficus tree in our yard. 35 or 40 feet tall. Like all Ficus, it grows rapidly and gets bushy. It needs to be cut back. Twice in the past we have had it trimmed, and we were very unhappy with the results. My wife started to cry when she saw the tree after that first trimming; the second time she growled "butcher job" and refused to look at it for months. It looked like it had (barely) survived a forest fire. A few days ago Santos Peña and his crew came here to work on the tree, and the result is delightful. Instead of lopping off limbs wholesale, they climbed up into the tree and thinned it out, leaving most of the big branches and many of the smaller leafy branches. It looks like a tree now. His fee was quite reasonable. I've already made a calendar entry for next year when we'll bring them back to update and adjust. And during that year it will be pretty. We are new to citrus trees and, after researching on google how to trim them, decided we were better off hiring a professional.
