We eat here all the time and it has never let me down. It is authentic food despite some of the reviews saying they didn't think it was. The prices are comparable with anything else out there and it's not a chain. Lunch specials for $10.99 for food and a drink. All of the staff is friendly so I guess they may have had a bad day for 1 or 2 of the other reviewers. After working in the industry for a long time I always give a place 3 chances to make sure someone wasn't having an off day. The most valuable take in an establishment is if is a Mexican spot and Hispanic people are eating it then that's a good indication on the quality. Wonderful tamales! Try both the chicken and pork. Also get lots of salsa. The pork comes with red tamales and the chicken comes with green salsa. This place was actually created by selling tamales in Chicago and was so successful that she could launch this little restaurant. Other dishes are good. Guacamole works well and even the rice is flavorful. Try the Mexican Fresca made from cane sugar. Do NOT be turned off because this place is next to a gas station. read more

OMG.... They didn't want to serve me! I pass by this place 10 times weekly and decided to stop in. I was not greeted and the lady acted as if I was getting on her last nerve. With authentic drinks made with Sugar Cane to flavored drinks, you get the feel of South of the Border (except the B98.5 music playing Michael Jackson). The pork and red sauce ones are just a bit spicier than the chicken and green sauce ones. I like to get extra sauce on the side even though the sauce is already in the tamales bc they tend to be a little dry. They are heavy portions, not your average small flat tamal. They're very thick and about the size of my cell phone. That said, however, they are very doughy but still have a good amount of meat. Prices keep going up. This is the only authentic Mexican spot in the area though, aside from the Morena Restaurant/Carnicería (Mexican meat/grocery shop on Willow Ln). Too bad THEY don't have tamales. I surely don't mind supporting local businesses and they've clearly been hurt by the pandemic but damn, $5 for a tamal? read more

Man what a find! I'm seriously going to eat lunch here for probably the next month straight. It's amazing. Fresh, spicy and tasty. One of those places I just don't want to share but I will. This place is connected to a gas station. It's small with tables and chairs. There is television which is perfect for the World Cup taking place right now. Service is at the counter and they bring you your plates with silverware so don't get the to go silverware that's out. With your meal they serve two salsas, green and red. Both spicy but not too much. They have a soda fountain machine but also some soda bottles and topochicos in the back. When you finish your meal make sure to clean your plates off at the trash can. They'll come get them off the table for you afterward. read more

I found Mediocre at Best , I Got the Gringo Taco Lunch special , (I Missed the 3 mini tacos for 8$ Sign) and ponied up for the 2 Soft Ground Beef Tacos with Crema, Rice and Beans.. With a Tiny Fountain Drink I didn't want for 11$ + Tax. For what it was it seemed to take a long time but they were doing a fair amount of Business for 3 employees. The Restroom was Gross AF (It is in Gas Station) the Salsas are Flavorful , But You have to buy Chips.. I'll take average Strip Mall Mexican over this any day of the week.. The chicken tamales here are delicious! I have also tried the beef nachos here before and it's perfectly seasoned with a large portion. This place is conveniently tucked beside a gas station. Since it is an express place, the wait is never too long for your food to be done. It took about 6 minutes for the tamales to be ready. They usually only have two or three workers. There are several tables available in the seating area if you are dining there, but I've usually taken my food to-go. I like that the menu is big and easy to read. My only complaint is that there's not enough chicken in the tamale. They do give you some salsa verde for it though if you take it to-go. The tamale is a decent size for the price. If this were reviewed in another location I might not give it five stars, but this is Henry County the land of factory food mexican restaurants that get by on queso and margaritas. This is authentic mexican food, but you can find some disappointments on the menu. There is no alcohol and I don't care. I don't drink anyway. I go to restaurants for the food. That free basket of chips you get free at nearly every other mexican restaurant in town will cost you a few bucks here, and again I could not care less. The tacos, enchiladas and tortas are amazing. The beef steak torta and enchilada with green sauce are to die for. Not to mention, they even have beef tongue! Everything is homemade and it shows. Two salsas, a red and a green, compliment every meal, and the queso is thick and hearty. This is the go to restaurant for mexican food in Henry county. The food is simply better here than any of the much larger, more frequented establishments. That being said, if you do come here looking for your typical quesadilla you'll probably be disappointed. They are a bit on the small side and clearly meant to be a meal compliment instead of a meal. The chips, well they aren't the star of the show, they could use some salt added during the cooking process. There is also a bit of a language barrier. The last time I went the lady behind the counter clearly didn't know what the word "large" meant. She also took a minute to understand the word drink. It doesn't matter really. We stopped by here on our way back to Atlanta from a nearby pumpkin farm. The gas station location was strange, but we figured with such good Yelp mojo that it had to be good. And we weren't disappointed! First off, we had a decent size group with four young children. The nice lady (owner?) immediately brought rice and beans for each of the kids. This kept them occupied and avoided any pre-meal meltdowns. And the rest of the meal went just as well. We had tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. They were all super fresh and tasy. The salsa and quacamole was also great. Even the beans and rice were fresh and delicious. There were a lot of empty plates at our table. The first thing I've got to say about this place is that it's way overpriced. Girlfriend got a Milanesa Torta which is a breaded steak sandwich, the steak was paper thin and probably made the day before as that the way it tasted and it was 9.99 just the sandwich, no drink or sides. I got Mexican style steak in a spicy sauce that came with beans and rice. Beans and rice were ok but the steak was a super cheap cut with awful texture, dish was 12.99 with no drink. So with drinks we're already at over 30 dollars, for a lunch it's way too much. Everyone there was pretty nice but food is low quality and not worth the price. A tamal was 3.99 and those things are tiny, I usually get them elsewhere for no more than 2 dollars, skip this place. I won't be coming back. read more

This restaurant is as close to authentic Mexican as you can find in Georgia. The food is over the top. They normally have about 4 daily specials in addition to their normal everyday menu. Try one of these specials to really experience true Mexican food. This is not and I repeat not one of those Mexican restaurants that tries to fill you up with crackers and tomatoes before your food arrives. This is just real Mexican. For a really special treat try their Mexican Breakfast. I don't know of any other Mexican restaurant that serves breakfast but you can try it here. BTW: If the menu says hot, believe it. You will get over the hot in a few days but it is just so good that you will just keep coming back. Do not expect this restaurant to compare with those TexMex and American Mex restaurants. Well I wanted to try the guacamole but it was six bucks so I passed. I ordered a beef taco supreme for three bucks and the barbecue lamb taco for 3.29.
