This restaurant is filthy, disgusting and needs a health department visit. The restroom had urine all over the floor, in the stalls, they should be ashamed. My opinion of the restaurant wasn't much better. The floor was sticky and dirty and has seen better days. I ordered the beef ravioli baked with mozzarella. The cheese was barely melted and when I pulled a ravioli out to cut, the sauce was like water, it was tasteless. The ravioli had a grey filling in them that I assumed was beef. The antipasto my Mom ordered was supposed to be chopped with dressing mixed in. The antipasto wasn't chopped and they gave her dressing that was wholly vinegar. The ladies that waited on us were very nice and very gracious and I am sorry for them, this is not their fault, but the owner. I do not recommend this establishment at all. read more

Great food and friendly family feel. Their bread loafs are addicting, crispy outside and soft and warm inside. Always a good special and the servings are ample. Great soups and the baked dishes are super. We came here often during the whole Covid debacle and they always had hot fresh food to pick up ... can't say how amazing it was to have somewhere that didn't sacrifice quality during that time. My pasta was not fresh. It had obviously been premade and reheated. The sauce had soaked into and discolored the noodles, which indicates the noodles sat in the sauce. When I asked the waiter and requested more sauce as the noodles were dry, his attitude became very rude. He returned with extra sauce which he slammed on the table. He never came back other than to throw the check on the table then he went on break. As a former caterer in a large southern city, his behavior would have warranted immediate dismissal. There will be no second chance for this place, food and service were terrible. Go the extra 1/2 mi to Micali's, order the cheesecake for dessert and enjoy a great meal. read more

This was a decent place to eat. Does need a hostess it was confusing when three small groups came in and we looked at each other because no one from the restaurant was there. When someone did arrive she rang up people without acknowledging that people were waiting to be seated. After we got seated the service improved. Our waitress was attentive. After this we were told that no alcohol was being served due to a license issue. Normally not a big deal for us until we realized that the menu would be affected. We had the calamari and it was delicious. I had linguine with red clam sauce and my wife had lobster ravioli for an entree. Mine was tasty but the ravioli was bland with a lot of sauce. So overall a little disorganized but the food was fairly good. It merits another visit and hopefully they have resolved these issues by now. read more

First time here. Chicken Parmesan sub was really good. It was hot and flavorful. Chicken wasn't dry. Fries were hot. Service was very friendly and prompt. Will be back to try more menu items. Update: We tried it for dinner. A total miss: Chicken Picatta was bad. It literally looked and tasted like chicken tenders floating in lemon juice. No glaze, no thickener. Just lemon water. Chicken was not seasoned nor coated, aside from parsley or oregano. Chicken Marsala wasn't any better. Salad was fairly old and dry, wIth many brown pieces in it and too much for the plate. The server never came back after serving entrees, until we were done with the meal and out of drinks. We paid cash and noticed on the ticket afterwards, that a 3% credit card charge was added automatically to the bill. I find it very rude to have that tacked on to a bill automatically. Nothing worth going back a second time for...at least that I could find. I had the veal and shrimp fra diavolo ($19.95). I specifically asked the waitress if the dish came served on pasta and she told me that it did and that is also came with a side salad or a side of spaghetti and sauce. I chose the side salad with italian dressing. My salad arrived and was nothing special, plain iceberg lettuce, one olive, one pepperoncini pepper, one bland over-ripe tomato slice and two red onion rings. The dressing was nothing more than red wine vinegar. Then my fra diavolo arrived. There was no pasta; I kid you not, spaghetti sauce with three anorexic, over salted shrimp and three wafer thin pieces of about 2 inch by 3 inches pieces of veal...that was it! For $20!!! I asked the waitress where the pasta was and she told me it was either pasta or a salad. She did offer to bring me some pasta, but I declined since I wasn't sure what the additional charge would be. So I managed to eat all three pieces of shrimp AND all three minuscule pieces of veal and still had room to sop up the left over spaghetti sauce with some of the bread. The bread was okay. The sauce was not at all spicy, which is what fra diavolo means. It wasn't the worst imitation Italian food but it is far from good. Overpriced and under-delivered. read more

Authenticity: 1, clearly delivered and processed by food distribution factories. Originality: 1 same old same old. Wait staff: 5, kind, not to blame. In house preparation: 1 nothing, I mean nothing is made by a chef. Ambiance: 3 good interior design, lighting, chairs, not high quality, cheap, not dirty. The good: cheap, as flavorful as sysco food can be, nice wait staff, comfortable lighting. The bad: There was a horrendous smell outside (something like a dead pile of fish beyond the initial stages of decomposition) that made us not want to go in and stuck in our nostrils in the car for several miles afterwards and that was only evident at the restaurant and nowhere else... obviously nothing special, not authentic cuisine, nothing made in house (salad dressing, sauces, bread, pasta, chicken cordon bleu etc.) DISCLAIMER: the waitress that served us was incredibly pleasant and really deserves to be recognized as being thoughtful, kind, polite, and joyous. The owners may be well intentioned and the locals might really love prepackaged food factory "cuisine", but the quality isn't there. The sauces looked like they came out of a 4 quart metal can (the usual) the chicken was obviously not grilled or cooked originally in house and the salad lacked any semblance of nutritional value. The cordon bleu could not have been fried or made in house, considering the outside layer was freakishly all one piece that encapsulated the chicken as opposed to being fried into it, ( a process that obviously only a factory could have performed) the side order of fettuccini was cold and cooked beyond normal parameters, the cheesecake and tiramisu were both obviously ordered from sysco. I'm sorry, but I have to create a specific review for this restaurant that applies to many "authentic international cuisine" style restaurants. Here's the recipe: get someone with basic interior design knowledge to create an ackwardly deceptive ambient environment, "authentic" photographs, "antique" jars and fake grape vines, etc... then look at a catalog for sysco food distribution and pick out some items designed to be relevant to some particular origin, hire a chef who can mix it all up and reheat/cook things as necessary to give the appearance of authentic.... find kind wait staff etc. Would I return? Sanzone's is what Olive Garden wishes it could be: Delicious, Attentive, and Authentic! You really can't go wrong with anything you try here. The warm bread is a nice, free starter and we usually add mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. The Chicken Cordon Bleu is fantastic and we usually pair it with Fettuccine Alfredo instead of the typical Spaghetti. With the new space they added, it's much easier to get a table and enjoy the food. The servers are always nice and friendly and if you get to meet any of the family members, you'll be delighted. There's a nice down-home, country feel to the people, with a genuine Italian taste to the food. It makes for a fantastic combination. read more

Pretty standard Italian. I've been here once for dinner and once for lunch, and both were fine. My dinner was the beef ravioli - a very healthy serving in a piping hot dish, smothered in red sauce and cheese. The ravioli were tender and stuffed with plenty of well seasoned beef filling, and the red sauce was...average but fine. It's not fancy or over done, but it's tasty, and it hit the spot. The panini are also good, although the one time we were there, the service was pretty slow. I think we got in just after a very large party, so that may explain the delay. I wouldn't tell you to seek out Sanzone's specifically, but the food is good and the prices are quite reasonable. Ciro's down the road has the pizza/calzone thing wrapped up, and Sanzone's has the pasta side of things covered. read more

We waited over 30 minutes before we got any drinks! I had to ask another waitress for help. She kept telling us how busy they were and the kitchen was trying their best. My mussels were salty and the my wife's egg plant parm was soggy. My veal Marsala was over cooked and not enough for 17.95. Only good thing was the calamari. We will not be back. read more

If you are looking for good value, Sanzone's may be a good choice. They offer decent food and larger portions at very good prices; however, this isn't the place to go if you are looking for a special or really delicious Italian meal. Their red sauces are not flavorful and do not have a full tomato taste. It would be very easy to find better jar sauces. Pastas were requested to be al dente but came slightly overcooked. One main course was veal alla Snazone's which had a mushroom and lemon sauce. The chef had way too heavy a hand with the lemon and it overpowered the dish. Overall the quality of the kitchen is about equal to an average quality diner. Although nothing to rave about, the overall meal was OK and the prices cheap. It just depends on what you are looking for. read more

Nice little Italian restaurant in Stuart's Draft. Ate here last night with my husband, daughter and son-in-law. Had deep fried green beans for appetizer and they were crisp and hot. Hubby got a side salad which wasn't anything special (iceberg lettuce, tomato, olive and peperocini) but he said it was good. He had pasta primavera (came with green beans and carrots) and I had the manicotti with tomato sauce. They were decent sized meals and tasted good. The waitress also brought us a basket of rolls. I am a stickler for seafood. This place is absolutely amazing. Not only is it local and close to home, but the food portions are plentiful, the food is appropriately and affordably priced, and the quality is authentic and out of this world. I always get the crab and shrimp alfredo (they sub out the shrimp for scallops for me). The scallops are huge and the crab meat is real. There's heaps of it and so flavorful! We have 4 children and usually bring them with us to eat. The staff is wonderful and attentive! They supply little pencil holder packages with paper and crayons for them to keep themselves occupied while waiting. It's definitely a highlight when our kids sit down and can't wait to draw us pictures! Love this place and would recommend them over and over! read more

We go here mainly because their prices are reasonable, and we eat out often which can get pricey now-a-days. They have great fries, and we tend to go there for lunch and get their sub special. They also have a panini lunch special, too. They have daily soups which are enjoyable, with my personal fav being the tomato bisque, and their shrimp bisque. MMmm! Love their pizza wrap, enjoy their mannicotti. Some of their food isn't quite worth the high prices, but there is a great variety on the menu & some real gems to be found, here. The ambiance isn't that great & it is old & dated inside, but clean & the wait staff is always terrific & personable. They obviously have a loyal following of regulars, and we have become regulars lately, too. I would give 3.5 stars if they allowed it, because it is better than a 3, but less than a solid 4. I give them a 5-star for their sauce, which is the best italian sauce I've tasted in this area, & really makes a lot of their dishes shine! Had a very good dinner there last night. Two of the highlights - they have a junior menu which is a serving size between kids and regular. Just right for me - I am a good eater and I barely could finish my spaghetti. My mom loved her lasagna and cleaned her plate. Secondly, the marinara sauce is the BEST. I eat marinara sauce 99 per cent of the time and this homemade sauce is one for the record. All the food is well done-the rolls are served warm, the (just average) Caesar salad is enough to share. We had a group of many meet at Sanzone's today. For the most part, it was hit or miss. I ordered a $14.25 shrimp and crab meat fettuccine that comes with four large shrimp, over fettuccine, covered in a crab meat sauce. It was a bust. I ate the shrimp, but couldn't eat anything else with the sauce. The crab meat did not taste fresh. I returned the plate, and the manager took 50% off my order. I appreciate their gesture, but I don't believe four shrimp were worth $7.00. The owner may believe in authentic Italian food, but authentic can also come from a can. I want to note that our waitress was fantastic. The food is the downfall at Sanzone's. I won't be returning. read more

this page was hacked two years ago, I did not write a review of this restaurant. My 88 year old husband was attacked verbally tonight by the owners wife Kathy, Just horrible. Then she attacked me after spending nearly $100.00. My husband was just taken to the hospital due to food poisoining from mussels, This restaurant is a filthy mess. Table was filled with grime and butter and crumbs. Just a mess. Please don't ever eat there, I took pictures of the grime. I had to wipe down the table with colorox wipes myself. This place is death waiting to happen. I called the health department.. Please never eat in this horrible restaurant. Over priced and marginal at best. Waitresses don't give a damn and they just phone it in. Meatballs come from sysco as do the sausage. These so-called Italians put Italians to shame. read more
